Long time mikata fan and patron but this is unacceptable. Salads at carry out inedible. The food its self was awesome! But there has to be a failsafe in place to not allow this to get out the door. No issue with quality ever in restaurant but carry out I guess needs work. Giving a gracious 4

For starters, this place gives entertainment & food at the same time which is great! The idea is amazing and the vibe you get inside is very comfortable. The workers hold conversations and seem interested in them. I love the service and if your a person who enjoys great customer service and actually cares for customer service to the point where it bases most of your opinion, this place is a 10/10 and I definitely recommend. HOWEVER...I also recommend if you have zero taste buds and enjoy unseasoned mediocre food. Cause' this place offers that too. I'm not the type of person to bitch, cry, and complain over bland food, except for when i'm paying $100 for two plates that neither me or my mother enjoyed. And in this case, that's what happened, so im gonna do that. ($130 something if you add my dads plate that we got To-Go.) So I came for an engagement celebration for my aunt. The guy had made a burning heart in the rice which was super nice! But...the food? It just tasted like food. No umph to it or anything special that would make me want to break the bank to go back. You'd be better off going to Famous Wok down at the mall‍ The only flavor it had was the sauce. There was no seasoning at all! The fried rice didn't have that "Fried Rice" flavor at all. It was actually hard to eat, I ate it simply because we gave them almost $200 for three plates. I'm not going back, but I enjoyed the experience. The fried egg rolls were pretty good. The Juice & Tea were pretty good too.

First time visiting this location (Troy, Alabama was our first Mikata experience). We ordered the steak & chicken hibachi dinner, two dynamite rolls (add crunch $2 up charge each on the crunch) & a margarita on the rocks no salt. Basic nothing great with the hibachi... the cook was funny & friendly tho! Margarita required an additional shot ($6) no liquor in drink straight margarita mix initially. The waiter was nice, but we feel like the entire conversation revolves around upcharges & money... weird to have to keep talking about money while trying to order a meal. Unnecessary. We won't return.

This place was packed out on a Sunday night with almost all of the hibachi rooms filled with customers. But I'm not a huge fan of hibachi style food so what I come here for is the sushi. My favorite rolls I had were the Yummy Yummy roll, because its fried duh, and the Touchdown roll. The Lobster Roll was just OK and was basically a California roll with some lobster on top and a few sauces. The Eel Nigiri was so delicious I wish I could just have that but I notices that not many of the rolls they offer, well, none of them, really feature eel as the main event. Which if you have had BBQ eel sushi you know how sad that is because you're really missing out if you don't have at least one roll on the menu where its the star of the show. Service is good and even when they are busy they make sure you know that they are working on your orders.

Mikata is a cute little Japanese restaurant off on Glenn. It has a romantic atmosphere suitable for a nice, simple date night. The furniture really sets the mood. There's also several rooms specifically for hibachi and a sushi bar. You basically have all 3 elements of Japanese food in one place. My friend and I ordered the Atlanta Roll and the Mikata Special Roll. The Atlanta Roll was definitely much better. I don't know how trained the chefs are because even as delicious as they were, they were cut poorly and unevenly. Finally I have found fried rice that doesn't glow, but it still looked strange.

Mmmm ... The island roll was fantastic!

Tonkotsu ramen's basic flavor profile is fat, salt, and (in the case of black tonkotsu) garlic. It is an incredibly rich, salty, and filling dish. The broth should be creamy as a result of all the fat, collagen, and gelatin extracted by cooking pork bones for over a long period. Mizu Ramen is none of these things. It is a thin, watery dish devoid of flavor. Either the base of the soup was not cooked long enough, or they're cheaped out on the amount of bones used. I found myself pouring soy sauce into it just to make it somewhat salty. You don't even get a shaker of furikake or some vinegar for the table! While Mizu avoids a 1 star rating on account of the fact that it's not disgusting and the service isn't bad per se, I cannot recommend it as a much better ramen chain, UMAMI, is only 7 minutes away.

The host greeted us quickly, sat us, and we got our drink orders pretty immediately I ordered an eel roll because when I asked the waiter about the raw sushi rolls that are wrapped in radish/cucumber rather than rice and seaweed he said it was only a special roll? Whatever that means I also ordered shrimp hibachi dinner while my husband ordered the NY strip dinner. We decided to dine in rather than sit around the hibachi area The restaurant was beautiful inside, high ceilings, clean, and modern with bar seating and sushi bar seating When I got the eel roll, the first thing I noticed was how there was barely any eel in there compared to other sushi restaurants I've been to (which has been all over the states). But it did taste pretty fresh so next time I'll dine in just for sushi and will update my review The hibachi dinner was great. It wasn't super salty like other hibachi restaurants. I felt like my husband's steak was a bit over cooked but he enjoyed his meal Besides the skimping out on eel, the only problem I had was waiting longer than usual for our hibachi dinner to come out. I was expecting our food to be nice and hot but it was actually partially cold like it was sitting in the back for a bit We were starving so at this point we were scarfing our food down. I will be back for more sushi and to try their noodle dish!

When I travel, I like to have Asian my first night out. It can be Korean and it can be Vietnamese…read more It can be Chinese. It can be Japanese, a nice Thai place every once in a while. Tonight I went with a very nice poke at the very chill and sanitary POKEMEN. This place has all of the ambience of an ice cream parlor. It's very stripped down very minimalist in it style. It is in a small strip center that appears to be populated mostly by finance companies and staffing agencies. It is a nice part of town, but not the best part of town. There is a nailed place and a Chiropractor I think. Let's get to the main event. The poke is awesome. I use brown rice as a base and then went with spicy tuna. I went large so I got four scoops of fish and let me tell you this was some really good poke. I added cucumbers, onions cilantro , pineapple, so mine had a really sweet flavor to it and I also had them put some tempura crunchy over the top of it. It was in my opinion the best bowl of poke I have ever had. That is saying something as I have had tuna poke all over the southeast And the West Coast and up the Atlantic seaboard. It is one of my favorite dishes. I think the fact that everything was ice cold, and the place was incredibly sanitary, added to my enjoyment. All of the vegetables were fresh. All of the fruit was cold. The fish was cold. The rice was the right consistency. Nothing was dried out, nothing was wilted, and everything tasted as it should. There were a lot of young people coming in having dinner, it's near an anytime fitness center so you do get to see a lot of fit young people that are enjoying a good healthy meal. They also have Ramen, it's a spicy Korean Ramen, which I wanted to have a small bowl of, but it only comes in one size bowl. It's not a huge, but it was more than I needed after having a large poke. I would go back again and again, this is my third trip to this restaurant in the last two years, I think it's a good place and I recommended.
