Found this sushi spot while winding down my day. Based on the rating and service I have received this far it appears to be holding its ratings. Looking forward to the dragon lady roll since I have a taste for something spicy. Loaded with spicy tuna shrimp tempura and green onion- it hits different. I misss my yelping reviews but I'm starting to get back into the swing of things. This spot is located on the higher end of restaurants near the University of Auburn. So we will see. I've been looking forward to sushi bistro since I read the good reviews several weeks ago. Despite yelp and Google listing their hours incorrectly, we returned after our first unsuccessful visit for an early dinner. We ordered three specialty rolls and a teriyaki dish. We also ordered the spring rolls. We were brought eggrolls in place of the spring rolls but chalked it up to a communication error. The sushi rolls arrived quickly and tasted good. They were by far the smallest specialty rolls I've had at any restaurant. I'm not sure if that has always been the case at this restaurant or if they are just trying to survive post pandemic. Wait staff was friendly and courteous and the prices are about what you would expect to pay for full size, sushi dishes. The chicken teriyaki was a bit dry and tough but the sauce was good with a very mild teriyaki flavor. They may do a good takeout and dine in business later in the evening, but during our visit, we were one of two parties the entire time. I sent Google a photo of their correct hours and I think they are now correct on yelp if you want to give it a try. read more

We enjoy Sushi Bistro about once a month. She is a huge fan of the Shrimp Tempura and had never been disappointed. I've sampled a much wider variety of the menu. All of the Sushi is high quality and well prepared. I've learned what I don't like based on my personal preference. We are looking forward to going again next time. We walked in 15 minutes before closing and the staff immediately took care of us. Usually the staff is ready to close things up but this place was working to the last minute. The sushi was amazing and I will defiantly be back. While everything was delicious the tuna tataki was amazing. I ended up getting a double order of that one. BEST SUSHI IN AUBURN BY FAR! I moved here last year disappointed in all of the sushi here-until now! I FINALLY FOUND IT! Tonight was the first time. I will def be a regular. The Alaskan roll and the black pepper tuna roll was fantastic. Other fantastic food I also tasted includes: Seaweed salad, miso soup, teriyaki chicken. Everything we ate tasted great. The best sushi in the area and it isn't even close. Sushi Bistro is the sister restaurant to Sushi Cafe in Montgomery off Zelda Road. The menu is almost identical, and the true star is the Daniel's Special Roll. For the non-sushi eater, it's what got me eating more adventurous stuff. There isn't a single roll that I've had here that I haven't enjoyed and they have some of the friendliest servers here too. We had the Daniels Special Roll, the Texas Roll, and the Cherry Blossom roll and each was excellent for its own reasons. If you aren't sure what to get basically just try anything on the " Popular Menu" and you will be set. The place is a little bit small so they dont have much seating but as good as this place is I expect them to grow. read more

We made a visit here a few days ago, having just moved into the area. We came from the Gump and actually lived a couple of blocks from Sushi Cafe, the Montgomery counterpart. Texas Roll was done right! Wife had a Teriyaki bowl. Fresh and delicious with an inviting presentation. All of the many staff were energetic, attentive, and friendly. My only down point is the tiny cramped dining room made for a quaint experience, but at least one group of six walked in and turned around and left because the house was packed. A great problem to have, but I hope the construction on the building is for an expanded dining room. read more

I am doing the Daniel Roll dance! I lived in Montgomery AL and loved the Sushi Cafe there. I had no idea they were a sister to them. I was hoping the Daniel Roll would taste like the one in Montgomery. Oh my it did. Cuts our travel time in more than half. Service was amazing. Sushi chef fantastic. Awful. I would have given it one star, but we've had a few good meals in the past. The last two times have been terrible...food and service. The tuna hand roll was minced frozen tuna mixed with equal parts cream cheese. The rice in the maki was way overcooked. The appetizer shrimp gyoza came after the entrees. After having to ask three times for our miso soup and salad...the miso was colder than room temp and the salad had a half inch of water in the bottom of the bowl. The teriyaki beef was tough. The vegetables were mushy and cold. Never got drink refills despite asking repeatedly. We tried to give the place the benefit of the doubt that they just had a few bad nights. Nope. read more

I know place has received a lot of good reviews, but I just cant give it more than 3 stars. The advantage that it has over restaurants in downtown is that you don't have deal with the hassle of finding a parking space (since there is plenty of parking in this shopping center). There are lots of other sushi restaurants around Auburn though. And I would recommend trying one of those. read more

By far the best sushi in Auburn! I started with a house salad (best ginger dressing I've had) and for our meal, my husband and I split the Dragon Lady Roll, the Texas Roll and the Ogletree Roll. The Ogletree is deep fried with cream cheese so it could even be more like a dessert roll. Everything came out hot and delicious. We were stuffed!
