Baos
Kayla H.

YUM! The street brussels are the best brussel sprouts I've ever had. I've been thinking about them for days. The baos are also really good. My favorite is the tofu chicken curry. love that they have plenty of vegan/vegetarian options! The menu changes frequently so there's always something new to try. It is posted on their Instagram daily. There is almost guaranteed to be a line, but it moves pretty fast! Plenty of seating inside or you can order ahead and pickup your order to go!

The best Bao I've ever had is in Auburn, Alabama. No lie. Expect to wait in line but the line moves fast. The owner might put you on his instagram story. We're all family here. The Auburn Family. War Eagle to this place.

We showed up last Saturday and the line was out the door. However, the line moved fast and the food was well worth the wait!! Seriously, everything we ate was amazing! Such a cool family friendly atmosphere and vibe. Also, connected with the owners who are amazing people. Highly recommended! After eating our family said, "Wow, everything was delicious...see why people keep coming back and lining up out the door!" #Auburn #theBaoMovement

It was soo good! We really enjoyed these food. Especially, frozen dumplings is good choice to make Korean-style dumplings stew.

Philly bao

Place seems very hot and new. The place is packed so seating is limited esp for parties over 4. You order at counter and are called when it's ready. Tried to order the tradition bao but it was sold out by 1pm on a Friday. Opted for the Philly bao instead. Wasn't overly impressed. The filling was very dry and was mainly meat, minimal cheese and no onion or bell pepper.

Buffalo Chicken Dip Bao, Spicy Pork Bao, and the Asian-Style Brisket Brunchy Bowl

The line may be out of the door but it's always worth waiting for every time, especially if you go near opening time before they run out of anything! Their menu changes daily but stays updated on their Instagram. My group got the Buffalo Chicken Dip Bao, Spicy Pork Bao, and the Asian-Style Brisket Brunchy Bowl and everything was delicious- would order any of those things again. Always a must-visit place when I'm in town~

It was just okay. Don't think I would go back but everyone seems to like it. The menu changes so you may be there on a better day.

Umami muddies the waters a bit by calling what they do "Pacific rim cuisine," which is an attempt…read moreto reconcile a pan-asian menu that would seem, under other circumstances, inauthentic to a specific region. It is simultaneously Korean, Japanese, Thai, and whatever else it needs to be. Under different circumstances that would raise alarm bells in my head, that this is maybe some rough butchering of multiple ethnic regions in an Alabama backwater. But the good news is that the atmosphere is pleasant, the food is tasty and well-presented, and there is an appreciation of many ingredients that is thoughtful and knowledgeable. The takoyaki, for instance, is a really fun textural experience, covered in what appears to be a remoulade and a dusting of bonito flakes. The end result is tangy and savory and rich, giving you a hint of the ocean even as you take a bite of what is, by other appearances, something akin to a hushpuppy. This trend of thoughtful compromises seems to hold true across the menu, where nothing is precisely what you'd at a restaurant catered to a single region's cuisine, but none of it is simply tossed out as an afterthought. I do wish that the sushi menu had more traditional fare on it -- you can get a number of fancier rolls that feature cream cheese and frying and all that sort of new-fangled American trappings, but no salmon. And the only tuna roll offered is a spicy tuna. But it's still possible to get simple, clean flavors from it, even if it does not have all the offerings from a traditional sushi bar. TVs on the wall seem dedicated to a whole host of different programming. One of them seems to constantly be showing pets, another niche sporting events like strongman competitions, and another seems to mostly be kpop videos. So if you absolutely have to watch football, you may have to go to Moe's a few doors down. For everyone else: there's a lot to like here.

Overall, this is a decent spot and I would return, though it's nothing "to write home about".

As a Chinese-American myself, I was so shocked to see such a huge menu where they had such a rich diversity of dishes, and they were all so good and authentic! We ordered so many dishes (just the two of us haha, probably forgot to include some pictures). The key is to order and eat "family style" meaning you share everything. Now, granted, you might not want to share cause everything is so good and you'll want it for yourself. There's something for everyone, so if you're a food veteran (or just a veteran in general- thank you for your service), or a newbie, there's such a large menu, I promise you'll find something you'll like. They also serve teas/milk teas/boba! We got the Mongolian beef, pork belly rice bowl, chicken and potato (spicy btw- also watch out for the ginger), and garlic pork Xiao long bao (they have instructions on the table for how to eat it). Service is also really incredible- I didn't get to ask his name but the kind Filipino server was so so wonderful! Very attentive, made great conversation, and made our dinner experience that much better :) he recognized my boyfriend from how often he used to come here! Will definitely be back again when I visit town again. Also- take this from a native Houstonian/Texan with a vast array of experience with Asian cuisine. Definitely should come- I was pleasantly surprised.
