This place used to be one of the best kept secrets for Chinese food in Columbus. Fresh ingredients and deliciously prepared meals and soups. In the past year; however, they have gone to hell in a hand basket. It's as if they are buying frozen vegetables in bags from next door for their fried rice and broccoli dishes. I use to love Lin China. Great food and service, but something has drastically changed for the worse. I picked up House Fried Rice, Sesame Chicken and Hot and Sour soup tonight. It was all so terrible that we ate small portions and then threw the rest in the garbage. The Sesame Chicken was hard and dry and the House Fried Rice was tasteless. I doubt if any of the food had ever touched the inside of a hot wok. Good Chinese food in North Columbus! While location proves excellent for an afternoon or night in, the food is pretty standard for Chinese takeout. Nothing really special about the food. Good prices. Sesame chicken, General tso Chicken, and fried rice are great. Fattest Egg Rolls I've ever seen. These bad boys are girthy. Only thing is the Teriyaki chicken was not good. Had the Kung pao chicken lunch special. It was good but I wish it had been a bit more spicy. I also wish there was an option to get veggie fried rice on the side instead of just chicken or pork fried rice. The egg roll was delicious. read more

This rating is only for my last experience. Usually I love Lin China. It's a family favorite. But today my husband just got me an order of crab ragoon and it was horrible. There was cabbage and carrot minced inside with the cream cheese, and I don't think there was crab in it at all! My first bite was weirdly sweet and there was a odd texture. Ambience leaves a little to be desired but their business model is Chinese takeout so I don't hold that against them. The food is good, not as spicy as I'd like but I eat raw jalapeños and habaneros so don't judge spice levels by me. The service is good and the food is too. It's a great little place. read more

While the food is good they gave me the wrong orde. I then witnessed her scoop the shrimp off put it in a bowl to the side and place the correct meat in the food I returned. When so questioned her she lied to my face that it was all new. But I stood there and never took my eyes off the food I returne which per OSHA I am sure should have been discarded. read more

Lin China was a disappointment. Pictured is a bourbon chicken & orange chicken combination, and a dozen fried wontons. The wontons are bite sized. The restaurant where we usually order has wontons 3 times the size. Secondly, their pork fried rice does not taste like fried rice at all. It tastes more like yellow rice with some soy sauce thrown on it. Not a hearty fried rice! The bourbon chicken was good - not great. The orange chicken, unfortunately, is a big disappointment. I was hoping for tangy, but got a sweet barbecue flavor instead. The highlight of the meal were the egg rolls. I very much enjoyed those with a drop of mustard. I arrived in Columbus GA almost 4 years ago. I always try and find a good Chinese restaurant because I get these hankerings for a good Chinese meal. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a good one. Well after a few busts I got a menu on my door or mailbox can't quite remember. Figured it's a ride but let's try it. Bingo... it was the flavor taste and perfect rice I was looking for, as well as the entrees. This has been my go to for those cravings and they haven't failed me yet. The BEST fast and quick Chinese food I have come across yet in Columbus!! Spring rolls...not greasy! Excellent. Hot and sour soup...perfectly and evenly spiced. Szechuan Beef was AMAZING!!! The food is not overly saturated in Soy Sauce so it isn't too salty. The fried rice is truly amazing and the best I have eaten in quite some time. I can't wait to try all of my other favorites...this could be my new food addiction!!! read more

After giving them multiple chances I can say now that I am no longer going to be eating here. Before the food was good but these past 3 times in row have been horrible. 1st time started when we ordered sweet and sour chicken with crab Rangoon. They cooked the Rangoon to long causing all the cream cheese to push out and you basically left with a fried price of batter with nothing in it. 2nd time I ordered Mongolian beef white rice no onions. They give me the meal with fried rice and hot red peppers. Plus the meet was just drowning in a gravy souse I guess they think is used. 3rd time I make sure to check my order. I got sesame with crab Rangoon. Everything looked right but when I got home the Rangoon did the same thing like last time and the sesame chicken was 90% breading. Every time I called them they say bring it back and they will make new one, and I tell them I live 20 min away. Why would I drive again to pick up something you messed up. They don't even put my name down for next time I come to get a free meal ( not that I am going again ). Sorry Lin China you lost a customer. read more

First and last time trying this place, my regular Chinese place was closed so decided to check out other Chinese restaurants on yelp, this place had better reviews, called in the order and went to pick it up, came home and opened up the boxes and it looked like all they did was toss my noodles in hot sauce, zero flavor, overcooked veggies, overcooked shrimp in the LoMein, the Singapore Mei Fun was bland, no spice or seasoning and every bite seemed like it had small bits of dirt in it. I don't usually give harsh one star reviews but almost $30 later and non edible food this was warranted. read more

I will not eat at a restaurant where the cashier/cook exchanges the money and then proceeds to walk back with same unwashed hands.. picks up the egg roll drops in fryer, ribs hands on pants, and then packs down the rice on huge spatula and takes to cooker top.. nope nope nope.. not gonna happen for me.. This place is cleaner than comparable restaurants on Victory Drive, the people are really nice, and their location is spectacular. I walked in and was really pleasantly surprised immediately to find their seating area and kitchen is immaculately clean. Like..cleaner than my own kitchen spotless. Ordered shrimp w garlic combo plate and it was cooked and ready in about 15 minutes time. I was also pleasantly surprised that the meal was very well prepared--good shrimp to veggie ratio w nice big plump shrimp and perfect spice but not so much that it drowned out the garlicky flavor. My girlfriend and I decided to try Lin China due to our friend raving about this little Chinese take-out joint. I called with no menu in hand because all these places basically have the same stuff. Right off the bat I knew I called the right place because I could barely understand her. I would have been worried about the foods authenticity of the person on the other line had spoken good English. I ordered the large Mongolian beef and upgraded my white rice to fried rice for 75 cents. My food was ready in 10 min. The portions looked very promising for the prices. Little did I know that it was going to be just right. It was a huge container that was 60 onions, 35% meat, and 5% other stuff. The food was just a little better than buffet quality but not near the level of taste and quality of Chef Lee's and Mandarin Cafe(which is better than Chef Lee's IMHO). I would order here again if I wasn't in the mood to sit at a restaurant where I can get a lot and more to choose from of the same tasting food(buffet) or paying the same price for the same quantity of WAY better tasting food(Mandarin Cafe). read more

I think this is one of the better Chinese restaurants in Columbus, for sure. The prices are pretty decent and the portion sizes are about average. They're really fast with take out orders which is nice. I've seen complaints about the crab Rangoon but we've never had any issues. It's pretty good actually. My biggest complaint is the "lobster" lo mein. Bizarrely, it's pieces of fake crab and crawfish tails. I like crawfish so I'm not upset but I wish they would just be honest. read more
