They were actually more on the helpful and friendly side. Seems like they took past customer reviews/experiences seriously and improved.

What was…read moreonce a fantastic record store with great selection and artist signings has become, in my experience, a shameless cash grab. Their pricing practices are downright predatory, especially when it comes to signed albums. Holding back records from signings only to turn around and sell them at outrageous markups is a slap in the face to the very music fans who helped build their business. Apparently, exploiting fan enthusiasm is more profitable than fostering a loyal music community. But the final straw was being personally screwed over and then mocked for it. Imagine treating a customer who supported your business for over ten years with that level of arrogance and disrespect. Being an independent record store doesn't give you a free pass to gouge customers and treat them like garbage. There are plenty of independent record stores worthy of your money. **Shuga Records has made it abundantly clear that customer loyalty means nothing to them, and they've earned every bit of mine walking out the door.**

They even had local DJ presses - DJ Darryn and Dave Maze were my favorites. I will be back next trip to Chicago and visiting Thursday through Sundays only! Back home, I'd have to sell a kidney to afford half of these gems, but here? It's like they actually want you to enjoy music without going broke. The selection was top-tier, the vibe was chill, and my wallet survived the trip (barely). The young man that checked me out found me a big box for my selections so that I could easily mail them to myself.
