It's good store. I recommend buying stuff there. It's difficult to find stuff now a days. Owner is a good hard worker. I have nothing against him. Just that in the starting when store open I took photos and no one said nothing. Years later I took some photos of some game cubes and they told me not too. Other than that it's a good store. read more

This is one of my favorite retro gaming stores! I often make a trip from the city since it is fairly close by. The owner is so nice and they are always getting new stock. Definitely check them out! read more

To start on a good note I bought an Xbox One from this store about 2 years ago and was satisfied with my purchase but unfortunately, my later purchases and experiences have been very disappointing. About a month ago the second system I bought was a PS2 and had previous repairs that were not disclosed to me upon my purchase of the PS2. Yesterday I went to play said PS2 and removed what i thought was built up dust and gunk from a previous owner but the system stopped working entirely. While i understand I bought a used system i should be made aware of repairs or fixes made that have been done with the system that im purchasing and should not be paying the same price of a system in good working order without repairs. Me being me I let that go but over this past weekend I also went back and bought 2 games from this store only to discover that one case was missing the disc. I understand that mistakes can happen, but undisclosed repairs and selling an empty game case shows a serious lack of quality control and lack or care to your customer. Customers should be able to trust that used systems and games have been properly inspected, that repairs are disclosed, and that games actually include the disc. With my experiences in mind I would not recommend this store unless you want to take the risk or they improve their inspection process and disclosing repairs on theirs systems. I will say the employee that was working when I came to replace the missing disc did his best to mend the situation of the missing disc but I'm highly disappointed with the quality of systems and games ive purchased from this store be weary of what you purchase from these guys read more

This store has an incredible, ever-changing selection, they always have that next pick for your collection. They know their stock and they show it proudly, the floor feels half like a museum. You don't have to pay crazy prices to experience games history, and their help online and in-person is amazing. The owner has personally stopped me short of leaving to offer cases for the consoles I picked up on multiple occasions. Thanks Pedro! read more

This is maybe the best video game store I have ever seen. It has a wide range of all different series's of games from different consoles. The guy at the front desk was great and I just highly recommend. read more

was recommended to come here by a buddy of mine. When I walked in, I felt like a kid walking into Funko land but even better. the employee who assisted me there was awesome, courteous and professional. I should've took his advice and bought the ps vita lmao but hey it's all good. instead I bought a bunch of cool amiibos. Check this place out if you're a gamer, especially a retro gamer. The prices are affordable as well. You'll definitely get your moneys worth here read more

I've had nothing but good experiences at Retro Dimension. Killer selection, fair pricing, more than fair trade-in value's for games I've sold, and the games always work when I get them home. I find something worthwhile every time I visit, which is fairly often... which is saying something since I literally never go to any other video game shops! If you are into video game collecting or are just looking for a specific title, Retro Dimension should be high your priority list. Highly Recommended. read more

Lots of good things to say about Retro Dimension. Ultimately it's worth the trip if you're looking for any videogames. - Great selection of games. They even had some Super Famicom stuff which was cool to see. The Dreamcast selection was very impressive as well. -PS1 titles I purchased were both in plastic wrapped jewel cases which was nice too. -Friendly Staff -Fair prices We will be back! read more

went there for the first time good selection bought a game for my Nintendo. Good staff my only complaint some of the games are pretty high price read more

I have had nothing but good experiences at this store. From the first time I walked in I was hooked. Being able to hold/inspect the consoles before purchasing is a huge plus and the pricing is often the same if not cheaper than a place like eBay (with the added benefit of supporting a local small business). They have a wish list system that will notify you when a product you want comes in stock - and with the inventory turnover they have you often don't have to wait long. Staff is always super helpful and polite, I can't recommend this place enough! read more

I asked the owner a question .Hispanic guy with heavy accent if they had any Gameboys so forth .He was polite at first but after trying to write down prices as I wanted multiple systems he gave me a freaking attitude .I already told you he said and gave that look .Man heck with this place just go to eBay it's cheaper believe me . read more

Amazing selection, awesome service. I have sold some of my retro collection and felt that what was offered was very fair. I wish their location wasn't so far from where I live - but I make a point to stop by whenever I am in town! Highly recommended if you are looking for something specific. read more

Really cool place, and they have pretty much every rare piece of video gaming culture. BUT the prices are high, but support local businesses! It's a cool retro place to buy stuff read more

Amazing vintage store stock, clean layout that's easy to navigate and owner Pedro is helpful in answering any questions or just shooting the breeze about vintage games. The store seems to offer something for all different price ranges and all different types of collectors whether casual or serious like myself. RD does offer some super rare high end games that are priced fairly when taking condition into account. I personally prefer buying in person there than gambling with buying online off of photos. He has helped me grow my Sega Genesis and Gameboy collections with some awesome titles I just never see anywhere else. Shop is also extremely fair with trade ins. read more

The store is small and the staff is really nice. Prices are just crazy high think 2 times higher than ebay on some products!! Plus add the high chicago sales tax. Yikes !! If you want to save money on vintage video game stuff check out Offerup or Facebook Market Place. read more

Poor selection, inflated prices, rude employees. Don't waste your time here. I brought in multiple handheld Nintendo systems for a potential trade and the guy behind the counter tested them all only to offer me $40 a piece. He then told me one of the systems I brought in would sell in their store for $200. So they offer you pennies on the dollar for your trade-ins, only to turn around and re-sell everything for eBay price. I will not be back and I will tell my collector friends to stay away. I was looking around to find a place that would buy some games from my collection and ultimately found myself here. Pedro was very helpful and gave me a good price for what I was selling. There is also quite a selection of games if you are looking to buy instead of sell. This a worthwhile shop to visit, especially if you are from the area. read more

A good selection. Things are organized very well and the person in store was nice, knowledgeable and the atmosphere was what I would look for in a place like this. The only criticism from my first visit is the condition of the game seems to have no bearing on the price. I buy retro games to play them not collect, so I usually try to find games that might have a worn label or something. Here, a worn game is the same price as one in better condition. I don't know if that makes the worn game over priced or the collectible game cheaper here. Either way I am not complaining and will be back. Picked up 5 games and had an awesome Friday night playing NES. read more

Cool store and great Inventory. The quality is amazing as well. You can tell he takes great pride in cleaning and restoring his merchandise. Not giving 5 stars though. Few reasons why. If I have to walk 2 feet and hear a the RING doorbell Chime every time that shit is annoying bro. Initially It was like ok it's by the door. But literally your sensor is throughout the entire store. I'm the 15 mins i was in there the ring chimed at least a good 30 times. I would have stood longer and possibly made more purchases but that ran me out of there pretty fast. Another thing, you gotta turn AC on in there. It was hot and muggy. Those are easy fixes though. Five stars hopefully the next time I return. Everything is pretty over priced but you gotta remember the quality that you're getting here. You can pay price charting prices for a game and clean and restore it yourself for cheaper but for the most part you're getting a nice piece of nostalgia of any game from here. It's almost like buying a new game. read more

This place is amazing and Pedro is a really good guy. If you grew up gaming in the 80's and 90's, this place will do your heart good. Came in today with a Super Nintendo cartridge I got at a flea market that ebay told me is quite rare, and he was nice enough to let me and my sons test it on his Super Nintendo console (it worked!), so we can resell it with confidence. Offered him money for the trouble and he refused, and wished us luck. Highly recommend this place. read more
