He's complimented the staff and remarked that they are very knowledgeable, especially with Warhammer Fantasy. They're always willing to help (but not overbearing, as has been the case with other Games Workshop locations). There are several tables with a variety of amazingly detailed scenery set up and ready to play on, and there always seem to be games going on. But even so, him and his friends have never had a problem finding an open table. They've also been a fan of the other regulars, and we tend to see a couple familiar faces each time we stop in. This location not only goes the extra mile to plan and host special tournaments, but also painting seminars to spark interest and help those who are newer to the game. The store usually has a lot of expert painters that have been more than helpful and friendly. He says he's gotten some good ideas from them.

I know some places add an extra charge for using credit card with low purchases, and i hadnt been sure i was going to buy something. I asked if there would be a charge and he said "just tax" and i didnt ask further. Looked at my checking account later that week and I had been charged $10.95. Again, the bin these were in was labeled $5 for three small items (or $2 each) I mean this could be partially my fault for not asking specifics but i was running late for something else. Anyways the guy in there seemed nice but now i feel like his small talk was just there to distract me from asking more about the price. So yeah. Check your bank account after they charge you because they might straight up charge you double without telling you.

However, in the recent couple of years, I don't know what is wrong with their customer service department. It used to be friendly, polite, and competent. Now, their customer service, especially some of their managers, who are arrogant and unaccommodating, could easily ruin the whole shopping experience. Recently, a couple days before Christmas, my good shopping experience was ruined by the middle-age female staff, named Luba, at the self-checkout stations. Then it was further worsened by her manager Alex. When there was a discrepancy between the scanned price and the price listed on the rack, Luba refused to ask someone to verify the price or honor the posted price. Instead, she insisted the scanned price must be correct and told me that if I did not like the price, I did not have to buy the item. To avoid wasting time, I chose not to purchase one item and paid the higher price for another. At the end, I was supposed to get a gift card from a deal. Nowadays, for security reason, Target would need their staff to put a sticker on the gift card, then scan it to link it to my account. However, after Luba put the sticker on the gift card, she didn't know what to do. She kept scanning the gift card as if I was using it for the transaction. Her action made the purchase system acting weird. Then she questioned if I was eligible for the gift card, and got her boss to help. Her boss was Alex. I had dealt with him numerous of times. He never smiles, acting in a condescending way, had never accommodated. This time, he said that the system had stopped working, and he had to void the whole transaction and re-scan everything. Needless to say, I was not happy. I said it's wasting my time. Then he responded by saying "it's wasting my time too"! I said he got paid for it. The he mumbled something. What kind of attitude was that? He was the customer service manager who needed to correct the mistake made by his staff. When I said the female staff didn't know what she was doing, he dismissed it by saying that Luba usually does not work in that area. That explanation is unacceptable, she was assigned to assist customers at self-checkout and should have been properly trained. It would have been fine if both of them just apologized for my inconvenience, but neither of them did that. No sorry, no thank you, Target really need to re-train their customer service staff of the Glenview store to understand what good customer service is.

There were the obligatory tools, paints, yard stuff and then in the back there were cards and city candles (Lake Bluff you smell good), housewares, knickknacks and whatnots. I was only here to purchase yard waste stickers and that plastic thing that goes on your windshield to keep your vehicle sticker from gooping up the glass (yup, they had it), but I also bought a zip code towel and candy. And that's whether it's frames, photo albums, artificial flowers, kids' arts and crafts items, or Christmas stuff, etc. Just due to nostalgia, I often like to check what they may have in stock as far as Revell toy models for cars, planes, ships etc. The toy model inventory these days in any crafts store is almost down to nothing as it is an outdated and pretty expensive hobby for what it is anymore but still a reminder of my good 'ol childhood days. It's self checkout here these days and like in a Walgreens or ice cream shop, the customers can come and go here in big clusters. Staffers have always been helpful when needed. Thumbs up!
