We've dropped in here numerous times over the years. It's a big and handy Michaels to have around for miscellaneous arts and crafts knick-knacks. We always come in for promos or clearances or with a digital coupon and rarely pay regular prices here as there is never a hurry for us for their various products. And that's whether it's frames, photo albums, artificial flowers, kids' arts and crafts items, or Christmas stuff, etc. Just due to nostalgia, I often like to check what they may have in stock as far as Revell toy models for cars, planes, ships etc. The toy model inventory these days in any crafts store is almost down to nothing as it is an outdated and pretty expensive hobby for what it is anymore but still a reminder of my good 'ol childhood days. It's self checkout here these days and like in a Walgreens or ice cream shop, the customers can come and go here in big clusters. Staffers have always been helpful when needed. Thumbs up! read more

Michaels was our savior during COVID when a majority of us needed things to fill our time and keep us from going stir crazy. It's a crafters paradise where you can let your creativity and imagination run wild. You can find supplies for painting, knitting, cross stitch and bead making. There's kid craft kits and you can also find nice seasonal home décor too. Honestly, the possibilities are endless. It's a place for brides, or frankly anyone, to get their DIY on and I love how they offer crafting classes (both in person and online). Some of their classes are free of charge too. Check out their website to see their current offerings. My last visit in, I was searching for supplies to create my flower crown for a Renaissance Fair we attended. I found a DIY tutorial online, got inspired and drove over to Michaels. I was able to find everything I need at this location and started working away when I got home. I finished my flower crown in about an hour and had enough floral to make a matching boutonniere. I love going to Michaels and if you sign up onsite or online, they offer coupons on the regular for their items. Pro tip: Go right after Christmas and pick up some cards and gift wrap. Recently purchased a new frame to display my diploma, which I had allowed to languish in the closet for decades and was reminded that in addition to craft items, Michael's also had a frame department. The frame, being oversized, had some built in hangers, but since I didn't feel comfortable with aligning the screw-in units on the wall, I simply wanted an old fashioned wire hanger on the back. Given my experience with other frame shops, I expected I would have to drop it off and come back the following week to pick it up. The young gentleman working in the department, Flavius, surprised me by telling me I could swing back within the hour and pick it up. I went off to do some shopping at the Eddie Bauer Outlet and within a half hour received a phone call from Flavius telling me I could pick up the frame! Thanks, Flavius, for a great experience. well, I was just in this yesterday and was very disappointed at the checkout situation. I am a senior and disabled. The only way to check out is self service, or cash. If you have cash, a live person will take care of you. If you don't have cash, you do the work yourself. It's very difficult for me to lift the items figure out where to put the card and then bag it. The gentleman in line was simply directing people to the . I didn't know you had to cash to get a person. He was rude and just told me to stand and wait for him to get done with the rest of the people and then he would take care of me. I waited five minutes and was almost ready to leave my cart and walk away when he finally came over and checked out my cart. And he was not pleasant about it. It'll be the last time I go to Michael's. Unless I bring cash, the one bright spot was a young lady who was able to walk me around the store to find the items I needed. If it hadn't been for her I would've given this store zero rating. read more

I'm a fan of Michael's store in general, especially clearance items. I stopped in this location 2 days after Christmas to purchase a gift card. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes, but did notice the store looked rather empty. All holiday merchandise was 50% off and the store was oddly very tidy (most Michael's stores have way too much inventory in stock, imo) and slim on inventory. Recommend this store because it's conveniently located on Dempster. Friendly staff. Big parking lot. read more

Clean store and easy layout. Customer service...poor at best. If one is that miserable at work, then don't work there. There seemed to only be one guy working there and to be honest, probably not the best employee to be positioned at the front cashiering. read more

After we ate our breakfast at a fancy restaurant my wife decided to go shopping. We came here by noon and there were only a few people inside because it's lunch time. They have a huge place and there are a lot of choices. They have a great selection where you can easily find every product you are looking for. You can easily walk and roam here. There are some staff in a selection where you can ask help if you need something. But sometimes you can't find any staff because there are no staff in a selection where you are and they are in another selection. Aside from their products, I think it's affordable. And I also think that you can find anything you want and need in this store. Try to come here! read more

I'm greeted when I walk into the store, everything is easy to find (just look up at the isle markers) if i can't find something there is ALWAYS an associate to help me with my project(s). Seamus in the custom framing department was very rude. He did a poor job explaining pricing. He did a poor job cutting mat board...left rough edges. And on top of all the aggravation, charged sales tax on the service. I expect to pay tax on the mat board, but not the service of cutting. The manager did nothing to accommodate.
