Cards I've seen elsewhere for around $8 were marked at $50, and even basic/base cards were priced around $10. The wax was also way overpriced. When I tried negotiating on a Michael Jordan card, the response was basically, We don't care, we have to pay the bills, and they made it clear they weren't interested in discussing the price. The experience itself wasn't great either. The worker was breathing so loudly that it was honestly distracting. Overall, the prices are ridiculous, there's no room to negotiate, and the customer service left a lot to be desired. I definitely wouldn't recommend this shop if you're looking for fair prices or a good card buying experience.

I pretty much always have a book on order from them at any given time and they're always speedy and communicative. Every time I've placed an order for a book I've gotten a response within an hour that it was on its way and a time frame in which to expect it. (And I'm not talking an automated response, but an actual typed response from a human being!) There have been times when my book has somehow miraculously arrived within 24-48 hours of ordering! The only time a book has ever taken longer than expected to arrive and when I called to ask why they informed me that it had arrived damaged and they opted to order in a fresh copy for me. As a lifelong comic book collector, I've been conditioned to be a condition freak when it comes to my books and I'm so glad to know that instead of being put in an awkward position of coming in to pick up an order and seeing it's not in good condition and being anxious about saying anything that they went this route instead. Amazon could NEVER. If I ever move to a different neighborhood for whatever reason, I'd be happy to go out of my way to continue supporting Roscoe Books after so many stress-free, friendly experiences there.

I did find a book of short stories that I'm looking forward to. It was pretty busy and you can tell they have a lot of regulars. You can register to receive points that get you discounts which is always appreciated. Price points are pretty standard for a bookstore.
