Had a breakfast sandwich this morning... bread was hard as a rock and inedible. Waste of $6.

What an adorable ice cream shoppe! We walked in on a random Saturday afternoon and walked right up…read moreto the counter. There were a couple of teenagers working who greeted us warmly and served us swiftly. I had a double scoop of O-O-Oreo & Michigan Pot Hole. The Oreo was the typical cookies and cream you might find at Baskin-Robbins or the grocery store. The Michigan Pot Hole was chocolate ice cream with fudge and chocolate chunks that reminded me of Reese's peanut butter cups. Both were very good. I ordered the adult double, but in hindsight I should've ordered a kiddie scoop. The regular double is way too much. I didn't even eat most of the second scoop. The Michigan Pot Hole was good but it was much too rich. After awhile I started taking out the chocolate chunks. My sister had the Eskimo Kisses, which was coconut ice cream with chocolate truffles and fudge. She also had the Michigan Pot Hole. She didn't like the Eskimo Kisses but enjoyed the Michigan Pot Hole. My godmother had butter pecan on a cone. Again, there was a lot of ice cream but she enjoyed it. A coworker had been telling her to try PJs so she was happy to finally stop in. The location is spacious and clean. We sat outside since the weather was nice. I think it cost $25 for the three double scoops. My sister also gave the two teens serving the ice cream a $5 tip. I'd visit PJ's again in the future for sure.

The building is cute and tiny, but plenty of seating. The choice of ice cream was a lot, compared to where we are used to, so that is 100% a bonus! Ice cream is good, does melt fast but has a good melting consistency! If we were here longer, we would stop in again!

Darla's claims to be a deli and gaming parlor, and the food is better than expected. Has actual beers and deli meats to choose from. There's also a few healthy options. A little place on the end of a strip mall. It doesn't look like much, and it isn't really. The inside has a few slots and tables. Also they have a few beers. It's about $2 for bottles of domestics. They have the usual stuff like Miller Lite. As for the food, it's better than expected. It's about $2 for the Peanut Butter And Jelly Sandwich. Comes on white bread. Only complaint. Hey, whole grain is better. There's no sides with it, so that helps explain why it's one of the cheapest things on the food menu. Cool place to have some beers and get food. It's unique from most delis because this has slots, so it's also a gaming parlor. The food menu has many typical deli things such as sandwiches.

And when I tell you look no further it's in this very small town of Manteno, Darla's is the best! I have had multiple different sandwiches, including their wraps and Panini's and my son is a plain Jane and he sticks with the Swiss and turkey. The prices are reasonable! And the sandwiches are outstanding!!!

I would love to rate this company with a 5 star. I have been a loyal customer since 1999. Their…read moreemployees are always nice and they always seemed to value my loyalty. And they were a 5 star until they started their loyalty card program. They would have been better off without one after using the one they chose. And I have asked myself that isn't something better than nothing? Normally yes. Except now I feel cheated. When I didn't have a loyalty card, I went every day and got my fuel, (I spend $30+ a day going to and from work) and usually bought a cup of coffee or something else. About once a week, they would either give me a free cup of coffee or one at a reduced price to commend my loyalty. And what's a cup of coffee cost them? Pennies I am sure, but it wasn't the cost, it was the gesture. The feeling I was being rewarded for my loyalty. Now, they took my free cup of coffee away and they tell me I have to earn it. OK. At $30.00 a day, I figured that I could still earn my cup of coffee a week. No. Now getting one penny, yes that's .01 cent for every gallon of gas I buy, it will take me 150 gallons of gas or $600.00+ to earn a cup of coffee. In contrast, for $600.00 at shell or Kroger, I would save approximately $12.00 in my fuel costs or .60 per gallon. That equates to 8 cups of coffee. I was told that if I spent more money on tobacco or alcohol that I would earn points faster. But aren't they a gas station? It wasn't about the money before, and I guess when it all comes down to it, it's about a cup of coffee. And they took that away.
