Super bummed to have to make this review. I've used this bakery a hand full of times, but 3 in the…read morelast month due to my normal bakery being booked. I actually planned to start using this as my main bakery, but sadly I won't be using them anymore. I wanted a cake that was 50 servings and was quoted $250. Understandable, they work hard and deserve to charge that. Unfortunately, that's not what I wanted to pay for this cake so she recommended changing it to 25 servings & adding cupcakes for $175. I agreed (even though I did get a 25 serving cake for $65 3 weeks ago.) I understand this cake was 2 tiers and more detailed. With the addition of cupcakes I understood the $175 price. However, it was $175 for only the cake- not cupcakes. Ok, even though that wasn't how it was quoted fine, we'll just provide our own cupcakes. So she then told me the total and it's $186 (or something close to that.) That's with tax I was told. So why was I ever told $175 in the first place? Also, I'm not 100% sure, but pretty sure that all of the other "quotes" I was given from them was what I paid each time. Not a different price later. I understand tax- that's not my issue. It's the not saying things clearly. It was very misleading to suggest changing to the smaller cake & cupcakes for $175. Then, before I decided against the additional cupcakes she said it would be $225. I asked why would I do that when it's basically the same price that it was to begin with with the original cake I wanted. She in an annoyed with me voice let me know it was $25 less & that she wasn't trying to rip me off. It don't think she was either, but she definitely wasn't clear with pricing, seemed to have an attitude towards the end & didn't seem to value my business which is super unfortunate. I try to have loyalty to any service that does a nice job and is consistent & I get many cakes- probably averaging 1 or so a month. I also always recommend whoever I use when people ask. Unfortunately, this will be my last cake from Two Whisks Bakery & my recommendation will probably be this story instead now. I do want to note the lady I dealt with the last 2 times was not the same as today & she was lovely. Sad I won't be doing business with her anymore. I know the struggle of small businesses & word of mouth advertising and it's unfortunate how this situation ended up.

Another place I have been meaning to get to but I don't come down this far often. But I will now! I have tried my fair share of cupcakeries and this ranks #1. I got the last caramel banana pudding (there was regular and I believe another flavor) Fantastic!! Between my husband and I this didn't last the night. I narrowed my cupcake choice to 3- toffee caramel, butterfinger and Dutch apple. Moist and delicious and creamy frosting OMG. It tasted as the title described and not too sweet or fake flavored in the least. I was stunned when I walked in as I wasn't expecting what was before my eyes. The owner was friendly and gave me the run down. They also have minimal ice cream flavors for winter but she said more in the warmer months. I will be back sooner than later and it is worth the extra gas I will use!

There were a couple of teenagers working who greeted us warmly and served us swiftly. I had a double scoop of O-O-Oreo & Michigan Pot Hole. The Oreo was the typical cookies and cream you might find at Baskin-Robbins or the grocery store. The Michigan Pot Hole was chocolate ice cream with fudge and chocolate chunks that reminded me of Reese's peanut butter cups. Both were very good. I ordered the adult double, but in hindsight I should've ordered a kiddie scoop. The regular double is way too much. I didn't even eat most of the second scoop. The Michigan Pot Hole was good but it was much too rich. After awhile I started taking out the chocolate chunks. My sister had the Eskimo Kisses, which was coconut ice cream with chocolate truffles and fudge. She also had the Michigan Pot Hole. She didn't like the Eskimo Kisses but enjoyed the Michigan Pot Hole. My godmother had butter pecan on a cone. Again, there was a lot of ice cream but she enjoyed it. A coworker had been telling her to try PJs so she was happy to finally stop in. The location is spacious and clean. We sat outside since the weather was nice. I think it cost $25 for the three double scoops. My sister also gave the two teens serving the ice cream a $5 tip. I'd visit PJ's again in the future for sure.

I made a Pinterest board of our party inspo that even included dessert inspo for cookies and cake options. The treats are not cheap, which I understand completely. I just expected a neater job and better design based off the work they post and the price of the desserts. The cake pops all fell off the sticks. You took one bite, and they were on the floor. Not ideal for a child's party. The flavors were also very random -- red velvet cake pops with lemon cookies? What we got was not the quality they share on their social media pages. I think there's a reason why they haven't shared the treats they made for our party. Ours looked thrown together and messy. No creativity. I asked for the wands specifically. They didn't even make them in the color I asked for. However, they just posted the same idea in the color I asked for (and executed better) for another party. I do NOT recommend this bakery, sadly.
