If I could give Nana's 10 stars, I would in a second! I cannot tell you how thrilled I am that this place is available! We were visiting for my mother-in-law's birthday and I needed a birthday cake for her the next day. I asked at the facility where she lives if there was a good bakery here in town and it was unanimous! Now I understand why. I called about 3p and special ordered a two layer chocolate chocolate cake with strawberry filling and butterflies on top. I had no idea what I would end up with. I asked if I could pick it up by 11a the next morning. "Sure!", she said. I actually showed up 30 mins early and there it was-the most adorable cake I've seen! Little silk butterflies floating above the cake - it was so much more than I could've imagined! They had quite a business of seated tables at 10:30a on a Thursday, I was impressed and definitely want to return for a leisurely lunch, coffee or just to grab a cupcake (or a dozen!) on the go. Check out my pic of the cake - it's too precious!! read more

My fiance and I went here to get some baked goods for the upcoming Christmas party that I had a couple of weeks back. In addition a birthday cake for my daughter who turned 30. We pulled in and it appeared dead. No cars or customers. The day we went was a normal work day. It was open. We walked in and no one was behind the counter. And in the counters were no displays of their baked items. I checked the closing time thinking that they were cleaning up for the day earlier but it was to be open for another couple of hours. We waited for about 10 minutes to see if anyone was gonna come out. I yelled "Hello?" a couple of times. Nope. We left. Ended up going to Jewels bakery instead. Ugh. read more

I called to have an order of 60 cupcakes made for my moms 80th birthday. I live in California and would be surprising my mother in Kankakee. The gentleman on the phone was so helpful and gave me a couple of fantastic ideas. When I picked them up I was extremely impressed with how beautiful it was. And once we tasted them, it was really over the top. They were so moist and delicious and the frosting wasn't so overly sugary sweet. I very highly recommend Nana's! read more

Cakes have gone downhill recently. Waited in line behind one person for 10 minutes without even so much as a hello I'll be with you in a moment. This place is not the same as it was when it was under previous ownership. read more

Worst place ever. They ruined my cookies placed this order over a month in advance. I arrived on time and they barely started my cake. Cake decorator wreaked of cigarettes. I was better off bringing a cake in from the city for my nieces birthday. Or better off doing it myself. With my eyes closed lol. Seriously. Look at this joke. Never again. read more

Nana's Cakery & Bake Shoppe - Not even the colors they told me they would put. - Bakeries Near Me - Bradley, Illinois

GLUTEN FREE & VEGAN - Sometimes they have these on stock but they are either gluten-free OR vegan. I called in and ordered some only 2 DAYS before my birthday and they were able to get them made on time. I got 6 vanilla & 6 chocolate with buttercream frosting. As someone with quite a few food allergies, I'm always nervous eating out because of cross-contamination, and NO ISSUES! My cupcakes were delicious, the cake and frosting are both great. I'm so happy I found somewhere in town that has vegan & gluten-free options together, because you can usually only find one or the other. I have recommended Nana's to anyone I know with food allergies because they are just so good. Thanks so much for the birthday cupcakes! I would leave photos but they are GONE :) read more

Can I give this bakery 15 stars? Oh my is it worth every penny and makes every bite (that will end up on your hips) worth it!! The best cupcakes I have ever eaten. They do wonderful designs from a Crayola smash cake for a !st birthday party, to a cupcake cake with a special design. I haven't had their cakes, but I can't imagine they are less than amazing. They are wonderful to work with and cater to your needs. Love love love!!! I wish I lived closer to enjoy it more often! Closed Sunday and Mondays! I just tried it for the first time this week. Not a fan of their baked goods. Danish were tough not light and flakey. Cheesecake had an overly lemon flavor with a little raspberry jelly swirl. Donuts were just awful. Would definitely not return. read more

I agree with the previous review asking to leave 15 stars! Heck, I'd give them 20 or even 50! We had our wedding cake made here and don't regret it at all. The staff is helpful and friendly. We love Nana's!! We have ordered so many cakes from here, bridal shower, wedding, birthdays, Easter, Christmas...and cookies and cupcakes in between! It is by far the best in the area, and you'd be hard pressed to find a better tasting cake outside of it. The buttercream is super sweet, but for me it's divine (this is the only thing my husband isn't thrilled about). It can be a little on the pricey side, but for the quality, I'd say underpriced! read more

I've ordered a couple of cakes for birthdays. One was perfect. The other not as good. So three stars it is.

Every single cake I have ever gotten from here is a 10! They do an amazing job decorating and their buttercream frosting is amazing.

This place has changed, I have ordered many beautiful cakes from them and always turned out better than the picture I provided. I ordered a baby shower cake and provided them with the picture asked for the colors to be the same and asked if they could do it since it was a bit complicated. They reassured me they could and charged me 136$ for it. I didn't mind paying for it since it was essentially two cakes in one. A sheet cake and a smash cake to sit on top. When I went to pick up the cake it was not finished yet, stated they were short staffed and I waited for it. When it came out I was appalled. They offered to fix it and to come back in a half an hour. I didn't have time it was late already. Honestly the only way to fix it would be to trash it and start over. All I could think of was the show Nailed it. They offered to give me 10% off. And agreed that the flowers were not correct. I will not go back, and urge you to look into other venues. This is not the Nanas I have ordered from before. I will post a picture as soon as I figure out how to! The people at my baby shower thought it was joke, as I intended for it look like a child made it. read more

The food is splendid and the cupcakes are delicious. We really enjoy the soup and biscuits with gravy.

It's a bit pricey... $11 for 4 small cupcakes and a cookie. The cupcakes were good, but not amazing. The wedding cakes on display looked beautiful. I think I'll stick to Pearons Bakery. I can get a whole birthday cake with fruit filling for $20. read more

What a find, can't say enough about this bakery. My family was in town visiting relatives and we needed a birthday cake for my Mom. We picked this bakery randomly and placed the order at 8am, we gave no details or special requests just her name and asked that it look nice. it was ready by 10:30. Everyone (my Mom included) was blown away by what we picked up. It was incredibly detailed with flowers and amazing decorations all piped by hand. I'm not sure what the other bakeries do but in terms of flavor I have never liked a store bought bakery cake EVER. This was like no other, light and delicious with just the right amount of sweetness and frosting. Everyone loved it. If you want a cheap cake go to the grocery store, if you want something really special that is still a great value go to Nana's. read more

Really good cakes. Fresh and always a great job.

Best cakes in town as far as I'm concerned. Price is right also. The cake decorators are amazing so very talented. Worth every penny! The Danish and coffee cakes are the best also. The staff is so helpful and kind. There's tables to sit at and have coffee and have a cupcake Danish whatever! You feel at ho.e at nanas! read more

I found this place thanks to Yelp reviews and it is a hidden treasure. I wish I had known about earlier in the years this business has been around. I bought an assortment of cupcakes. They were fresh, light and delicious, in a variety of flavors that appealed to the mixed group of adults and children I served them to. I saw someone else there buying Easter treats and the decorated cookies were just beautiful. I also tried their brownie sampler, with small bites of brownies and magic bars. The prices are reasonable and the products delicious, attractive, and evidently made with care. Service was also very friendly. A gem in Bradley. read more
