What a gem of a place to find while camping at Starved Rock! We enjoyed it so much we came back again the next day. The fudge (along with many of their other candies) is made on site and comes in an array of fantastic flavors, from more traditional like chocolate/caramel and peanut butter to uncommon but equally delicious flavors like strawberry, cappuccino, and birthday cake. Currently, they have a buy three pieces get one free special (which is how we ended up with 8 different flavors of fudge). They currently offer high quality ice cream from the Chocolate Shoppe out of Wisconsin, with some unique options like Exhausted Parent (bourbon espresso w/ chocolate chunks) and Munchie Madness (cake batter w/ caramel, M&Ms, Oreos, and peanut butter cups). It was such a pleasure to meet Roxie and we'll definitely be back! read more

My son & husband had shakes, I had a two scoop sundae. The flavors were the Fat Elvis & Kitty Kitty Bang Bang it was so yummy! They were pretty busy but everyone was taken care of quickly. And the two ladies working there was a great team, both assisted each to complete the orders read more

This store is amazing. Usually, candy in bins is a little stale, but it was so soft and fresh I couldn't believe it. We also bought the amazing rice krispy treats (dairy free)- one covered in jelly beans and one covered in nerds. Again, the jelly beans were so soft & fresh. The rice krispy treat was so gooey and delicious- I ate pieces at a time because it was so big. This store was a delightful find on a weekday when not much was open. My daughter with allergies was very happy to find some safe options. Will definitely be back next time I'm in town. read more

Relatively large store that has some additional space for an assortment of other candy which are priced fairly (4-pack of Zotz for $.55 and Brownie Caramel Cow Tales for $.80). Serves Sisler's ice cream from Ohio, IL. $3.50 for one scoop, $4.75 for two. We went for the two and got a rocky road with plenty of fresh nuts and a tasty banana pudding. Plenty of seating in front and next to the store including a one of the giant adirondack chairs that are found in Utica. Bulk candy from the jars are $11/lb I think and $13/lb for chocolates. read more

The ice cream here are so so so so CREAMY and have great flavors. The caramel apple ice cream was a great combination. Fruity and the caramel is always a great addition! Blue moon has great texture and a little burnt cotton candy flavor to it. read more

This place is not cheap but worth it. My kids were very happy to stop and get ice cream after a long day of hiking. I bought some truffles for the road which were amazing, but the Hollands gourmet popcorn, OMG. $9 per bag but totally worth it. The brand of ice cream they sell is based out of Wisconsin and they serve it in several mom and pop ice cream shops. It's called chocolate shop and every flavor is a hit. I had the mint cookie and don't every remember the other one. All I remember is I unhinged my jaw and inhaled it. Be advised though, there are some tourists from Chicago that can be a bit rude and pushy when it's busy but the staff was extremely nice. We were bummed they were closed on a Monday when we left starved rock because we wanted to go back but I think we were just too early. Very friendly atmosphere. read more

If you're going to Starved Rock Park, the perfect way to end the day is by coming here. A fun painted boardwalk area holds a popcorn shop, cupcake eatery, and this quaint ice cream store. The service is superb! The owner attended us patiently and with a smile, regardless of how many flavors we tried. I tried the coffee and pistachio, and my friends loved their flavors. The ice cream is local, and all the confections are made in location. I would love to return when I'm in the area. read more

I tell you what last year I was looking for someone to make a cake for my sons 1st birthday party and they did a awesome job so this year we went back and I mean our minds where blown at the detail, creative, and taste of this cake. Everyone at the party asked where this was from and I made sure to tell them. Half of them asked where is that at and I said right in Utica. The daughter who is doing these cakes is very talented and I can not wait until next year the pictures speak for them selves..also this place has a bunch of other stuff as well all around good quick stop for some sweets if you are in the area. read more
