The Giddings store is much better than the La Grange store. According to my CO2 meter it also has much better ventilation.

The small half chicken salad sandwich was very good but the soup was not homemade. I paid one dollar extra to get a bowl of chicken enchilada soup and the total came to just over $13. A drink would've added to the total. They have a nice atmosphere and good service. A lot of chains like Chilis buy their soup wholesale and some people like it, it's just not for me. read more

So, I went back to Reba's today, probably for the last time before school starts up again in August. If you've read my past 2 reviews of this place, you know I usually eat the Florentine Wrap. I decided to try something different today for the first time. I had decided that I wanted to avoid the chips included with the sandwiches and wraps, but didn't have enough willpower to order a salad, so decided to get the lunch combo, which is to pick 2 items for $6.50 or so. The list of possible items for the combo is pretty extensive, it includes 1/2 sandwiches, baked potatoes, tuna or chicken salad, soup (there were 4 soup choices), pizza, etc. I decided on a cup of gumbo and a slice of quiche (I picked the quiche because it had basically the same ingredients as the florentine wrap: chicken/bacon/spinach/sundried tomato, plus mushrooms which are not in the wrap). Sounds like a nice light lunch, right? Wrong. I got some more weak tea, and sat down to wait for my food. My husband called while l was waiting, so I talked to him for a few minutes, and my food came during that time. I noticed that the soup was a bowl, not a cup, the piece of quiche was huge, and it still came with a bag of chips, despite not being described that way on the menu. So much for a light meal! When we got off the phone a couple of minutes later, I got up to go to the bathroom. Just telling you this to impress upon you the fact that I waited several minutes before trying my food. When I got back from the bathroom, I tried a spoonful of soup. It really burned my mouth! So I put some ice from my drink into the soup, and tried the quiche. It was really hot too! I was really hungry, so since my other items were inedible at the time, yep, I ended up eating the stupid bag of chips again. I tried the soup again and it was still too hot, so I went back to the ice chest, got a handful of ice, and dumped it in my bowl of soup. After mixing in the ice, I tried my quiche. It was still quite hot, but I could manage if I took small bites. I liked the quiche well enough ... might have liked a bit more spinach, but it was plenty garlic-y and cheesy and had reasonable amounts of the other ingredients, and a good, homemade-seeming crust. When the much-watered-down soup was cool enough, I ate it as well. It was pretty standard gumbo, heavy on the okra and sausage and light on the rice, which was fine with me. As I ate my huge meal and got so full that I had a hard time focusing the rest of the day at work, it occurred to me that perhaps the combo I'd ordered was called the "Bonnie and Clyde" because it was for two people to share. That would be an awesome deal for two (with drink my food was $8.32), and it would certainly have been enough food for two light eaters. So that made me feel bad about myself for sure. I just wasn't expecting such large portions for a cup of soup and a slice of quiche, and didn't expect to get chips at all. I am from Bastrop and yesterday needed to meet a business client from Caldwell. Giddings is about 1/2 way. As I was coming into town I saw Reba's. Decided to stop and check Yelp. Read the reviews that they had really good pizza so my client's and I met there. As others have reviewed, the pizza was VERY GOOD. I would agree with one reviewer who ranked it with some of the best pizza (s)he had eaten. I also had a Greek salad. It was equally good! The Greek salad dressing oil/vinegar/spices was just the right amount of each. Everything was seasoned well and tasted good. We didn't wait more than about 15 minutes for our pizza. We ate a medium pizza (2 guys and 1 lady). I first wondered it would be enough but after eating my third and the large salad I was comfortably full. One in our party had the French Silk pie too. I nearly got it but then I have been eating too much pie lately. The "picnic" tables made out of welded steel and tile outside were pretty cool too, though it was a little too cool outside at 6:30 PM to eat and meet out there. We didn't use the Wi-Fi but did see they had free Wi-Fi. There were quite a few patrons there but it wasn't too noisy which was nice. Bottom line is this is a pretty good place for pizza, a cold drink, and a salad!...oh and good conversation. I couldn't find any reason to not give this place five stars! read more

I've eaten at Reba's a couple of times. I wasn't particularly impressed with the Italian dish I ordered the first time, but Loved the Dirty Harry reuben I got last time. It's hot, with plenty of meat and saukeraut served on toasted, marbled rye. YUM! I see several reviews talk about their pizzas. I've never had those, but based on how many people were coming in for them while I sat munching on my sandwich, they might consider installing a revolving door to handle all the take-out orders. WoW! Casual atmosphere, good for family, Blue Bell ice cream for the kids, and beer for the adults. Might be a little pricey for a family, but a good place if you're passing through, or near there and want to entertain visitors. read more

The tuna melt was also out of this world, I like how the bread is thin and they really toasted it, it was delicious. I would recommend this place for dinner and lunch. Reba's makes an awesome sandwich. Let's just start there. I've been here a few times for lunch while out in Giddings for a client and I'm glad that my client suggested we go here. In particular, I'm speaking of their turkey club. I liked it so much that I thought about it for days after, and when I was able to come back to Reba's, I got it again! They serve it with chips, which is kind of meh, but the club redeems most everything. I'm giving four stars - we had a pretty good wait on our food despite the place being only about half full yesterday. This is a simple lunch spot - an ordering counter up front with a simple drinks off to the side - with an ice chest full of ice instead of a dispenser and two rooms of seating - plenty of tables and booths. Clean, and uncomplicated. When you order, you get a CD with a number on it, and when the kitchen staff has your order ready, they'll call out your number. I'm definitely going to be back - I'm not sure I'll be able to try other things, I'm still craving the turkey club. But maybe, maybe I will. Thanks Reba's! read more

Came upon Reba's after I searched for restaurants near us while passing through towards Austin. It was near closing time, so it was almost empty and the atmosphere was very relaxing after being on the road. My mother ordered a BLT and my father and I shared a medium meat pizza. Both entrees were delicious but the pizza has got to be one of THE best pizzas I have eaten! Made fresh to order, it came out piping hot and full of flavor; the crust has seasonings that I haven't tasted elsewhere! Should I be traveling through again, I will definitely stop and try out more of their menu. Not pricey at all and so worth stopping for! read more

Driving back to Houston from Austin and our tummies started rumbling but we weren't looking for your run of the mill fast food places or chains. We were hoping to find a Mom and Pop type of place. Therefore I went to my trusty Yelp app and searched for a place that met our standards. Reba's came up so that's where we went. It's decorating is electric. Lots of old memorabilia and decorated in a folksy kind of way with checkered tablecloths. They have Pizza, deli sandwiches, salads, and quiches. I opted for half a chicken salad sandwich and salad with potato chips. My hubby got the vegetable quiche of the day and my best friend got the French dip. My sandwich was good nothing special but good. What I really liked was my salad dressing and how fresh my salad was and all the yummy veggies in it. Hubby said his quiche was good but my friend didn't like her sandwich at all and said her fries were just ok. I'd say it was better than fast food and if I was by this way again I'd probably try some pizza it looked really good as it went by. read more

The pizza is fantastic! My favorite is the Mighty Meat and the name does not mislead! Their Ruben is also pretty stellar! Sometimes you can tell the staff are tired (I've been embarrassed for them when I've brought out of town guests more than once...), but over all are friendly.
