No one would answer the phone... I was worried the establishment could be close but to my surprise when I got there, there was 2 employees there. :/ French fries were not crispy from being in the styrofoam to go container hot and was a bit soggy. The burger was well seasoned and was good but it was soggy too. They forgot to give me a drink that comes with the Elgin Cheeseburger combo and I didn't realize the missing drink until I got home which was too late. Overall, I think maybe my experience would have been different if I dined there. The inside of the establishment was super dark and blacked out. The burger was decent and was better than other places that offered burgers in town. I would order a dine in burger from here again and try other items on the menu. Maybe second time is a charm? :)

I'm not a fan of fries, yet I could have eaten this whole basket, they were AMAZING! The owner was so sweet and made sure we were taken care of! I can't believe I've never reviewed this place…read more You literally can't go wrong. I could probably make a meal off of just their appetizers. I've literally never had fried mushrooms at a restaurant that were Portabella. These are to die for but the star of the appetizer menu to me are the fried pickled okra. they are coated in a perfect , cornmeal batter and served with homemade ranch dressing. Now onto the main courses. The burgers are all phenomenal. I have tried three or four of them no matter which one you get, order it Bob's way, which comes with fried onion strings. I usually can't finish a whole burger, but here I make myself finish the burger. No morsel is wasted. I recently tried one of their hotdogs, and I can say it won't be my last. Last but not least, their sides with the burgers cannot be beat. I know it sounds weird to say, but I am not much of a french fry person. Here I want to eat all of them. Their onion rings are equally delicious and their sweet potato chips are unlike anything I've ever gotten of the sweet potato family. Everything is perfectly fried and everything goes good with their homemade ranch. Our girl Wimpy works here and provides the best service to everyone who enters some of us even get a hug when we leave

It's a small dive bar with indoor and outdoor seating. They have a good variety of beers on tap and bottles, I think. I only had the ones on tap. The food is great. We had the fried okra (whole pieces) and onion rings, which are delish. Not salty and the batter does not fall off, which is a plus. We also ordered the patty melt, bahn mi burger and boneless wings. We enjoyed them all. Good portions and flavorful. This is our go to in Lockhart when not in a BBQ state of mind.

Reba's is easy to find and quite convenient. It's a large restaurant with a very nostalgic feel…read more The place is open and lots of seating. Music is great! We grabbed a menu and sat down. I noticed it's a bit limited on burgers and sandwiches but perhaps good for the area and easy for the staff to make. We ordered and added some pies, paid in cash for the discount and left to fill our cups. The cashier and another employee had conversations amongst themselves while we were ordering and paying. Felt a bit awkward since we didn't want to interrupt their hugging and or whatever they were doing. The sweet tea stayed mostly empty but lots of unsweetened tea. We dove right into our pies first. The Almond Joy didn't taste like the candy bar as much as an amaretto coconut pie but really good! The buttermilk pie was really good too. I ordered the chicken poblano "burger". The lettuce was sadly very soggy as was the whole sandwich. Thankfully the bun was toasted because there was way too much mayo. I noticed right away that it was just bland. The chicken was thick which is great but it was bland on bland on bland. No poblano flavor. I looked for the peppers. They were grilled/sautéed and thin. Soggy sitting under the lettuce. No flavor. The fries weren't anything special but the crunch. The tea was sadly tasteless as well. I really wish there was more to say. My mom's sandwich was just sort of...there. Nothing special to talk about. I'd go again for pie and coffee alone and only if I was desperate for something to eat. There may be better places to eat in town. It's slow paced inside. Good to watch cars go by and imagine what the place looked like years ago.

(FYI, I live in San Antonio and am very tempted to take a road trip for my next yummy slice.) Then there dessert...well, located within a rocks throw of Brenham, you know what to expect, and it ain't just yummy cookies and cake. Yes, ladies and gentlemen (drumroll) you guessed it...BLUE BELL ICE CREAM!! Spoiler alert they failed to have my favorite daiquiri ice but you're not going to lose me over that. (Hint: just saying for future options. I'll be on the lookout next time I'm rolling down 290 East.) All good and well, the girls behind the counter were attentive and nice. And the restaurant rang of a good place to go after a go hometown Buffalo's Friday night football game. (This is Texas you know.) Thanks Reba (if there is a flesh and blood Reba out there) for expanding to your latest downtown location. LOVE IT!
