They treat your home as if it was their home and meticulous attention to quality in every aspect of their work is constantly evident. Our 30 year old concrete tile roof was at end of life, and a constant source of stress when it rained. Asked for a quote to replace with architectural shingles as a good match to our solar panels, and received a very detailed quote, clearly explaining several possible options. They were able to work around the solar de-installation schedule without any issues. The crew was motivated, skilled, very experienced, and showed up exactly on time, every day. The job site was maintained in a clean and safe manner at all times, and the quality of the work -- absolutely outstanding. Excellent value for the money in my opinion; a quality product, well installed. True-up at the end of the job was detailed, clear, and under budget. Strongly recommend this company.

More worried about getting the job done fast and not doing the proper steps to prevent danger. My six-year-old daughter put one through her foot and put her in the emergency room. I brought this to the owner's attention and all I got was a sorry text. Worst part is I warned him one week prior that there was excessive nails that we've been picking up and he claims he came by and did another sweep. All they had to do was lay tarps or plastic down to prevent this. Or don't do the job so fast and be sloppy and just throw everything off the roof in every direction. Or maybe have the owner actually be on site when his workers are working and prevent situation situations like.

Obviously I can't tell how durable their work is just yet, but the experience so far has been great. In particular I really appreciate their estimator Hank. He is very knowledgeable, friendly and he respects and values his clients, a lot. My roof and gutter are not standard setup, so I had lots of questions on how it can be done right. Hank either clearly explained to me his plan, or patiently brainstormed solutions with me, which gave me lots of confidence in their work. During the construction, there were things here and there that were not documented in the contract, and I am very happy about his flexibility. Their project manager Crystian also did a lot to make sure the project ran smoothly.

From our first conversation to the finished roof, Joseph earned our trust and our highest recommendation. What impressed us most was his honesty, professionalism, and pride in his work. Joseph is a straightforward, trustworthy guy who does what he says he will do. He communicated clearly, responded promptly, showed up on time, and was consistently reliable. He's also simply a really nice person who is easy to talk to. When you're trusting someone with your home, those qualities matter just as much as technical skill. And his craftsmanship absolutely lived up to that trust. Our new roof looks beautiful, and the care he puts into his work is evident in the finished result. We felt we received excellent value, especially considering the quality of both the workmanship and the service. For our family, the greatest benefit is the peace of mind. Joseph helped make our home more fire-resistant, and we feel much more confident heading into the winter rainy season. We appreciate the beautiful roof every time we come home, but feeling safer under it means even more. I wholeheartedly recommend Joseph and Mastercraft Roofing to homeowners in Palo Alto, Los Altos, and Los Altos Hills. He brings together the skill, integrity, and reliability you hope to find in a contractor. We would hire him again without hesitation. Thank you, Joseph, for taking such good care of our home. The person who came out to give us the estimate was great and got the quote back to me very quickly. The original price was more than I was expecting, so I asked if they could adjust the scope since we were willing to handle the old roof tear-off and wood work ourselves. They had no problem adjusting the quote and were very easy to work with. The crew showed up on time, was friendly and professional, and the owner and project manager both did a walkthrough with me, which I really appreciated. They also arranged for a porta potty to be delivered and picked up promptly once the job was finished. There were a few very minor things that needed to be addressed after the installation, and they came back the very next day and took care of everything. Don't ignore the negative reviews, there's a reason they exist. A month and a half ago I needed my roof power washed, gutters and windows cleaned and Isreal did a decent job. However, I asked him to come again to trim a tree and take a few pictures of my roof that I needed for my homeowners insurance and that's when the problems began. When trimming the tree he accidentally knocked off and broke a few of my roof tiles and told me he would come again to replace the tiles. While waiting he asked that I pay him for the job so he can buy the tiles which I did. I waited for over 3 weeks of back and forth texts that state he will come for sure on certain days and never showed up repeatedly without communication. Furthermore, when I tried calling him he wouldn't answer. Aside from happily receiving payment and taking my money for an incomplete job I am now stuck finding someone else to complete this project. Very disappointing.

Since we had extra tiles lying around, he came back the following week to work on the roof. Additionally, when we asked if there was anything we could do about a few of our gutters being extra loud during the rain, he offered to come back to install some sponges that might dampen the sound of the rain hitting the gutters without blocking water flow.
