They are generally a good cleaners. I was a customer for over a year, spent thousands of dollars on…read morecleaning and alterations, and even drove across towns for cleaning services. Unfortunately, they don't take responsibility when they lose your items. I took some valuable items there and unfortunately they lost one of the items. They gave the runaround for 2 months and then tried to give me an item that wasn't mine as a replacement. They then tried to deny responsibility. If you want a cleaners thats going to get your every day shirts and pants clean they are good for that but if you want a business that won't lose valuables and is dependable then I suggest finding a different establishment.

I was taking a few of my dress shirts here on an electric bike and the sleeve of one of the shirts…read moregot caught in the front wheel which caused that shirt and every other shirt to get greasy black stains all over the left sleeves. I thought I would have to throw them all away and it would be a lost cause. I came back to pick them up today and couldn't believe how clean and brand new they looked. I still feel like they had to have gone out and bought the same shirts, couldn't believe it was possible to recover them. Moreso, I was charged the same price I'm normally charged even thought they were so much dirtier. I don't have many dress shirts so I go here once every week and they have been so nice and the shirts have come back perfect every time. Highly recommend this place right by the Eastern Market Metro Station!

UPDATE: The owner reached out after reading this review and looked into it right away. She noticed…read moreour couch cover wasn't properly serviced and made it right. She was great to talk to and made me a fan! __________________________________________________________________ There's a lot to love about The Press. It's conveniently located along Capitol Hill's Pennsylvania Avenue within walking distance to the Eastern Market Metro station, Capital Bikeshare docks and plenty of street parking. The staff are friendly and helpful. They email you the moment your clothes are ready for pick up. However, the end result of a recent visit wasn't the best. Our puppy peed on our couch cover and the spray I used to remove it stained it. I took it to The Press to be dry cleaned. It cost $20 (less than I expected to pay). However, the stain was still very clear. Perhaps dry cleaning can't get rid of everything, but when I got home, wiping it down with water made the stain go away. Correct me if I am wrong, but shouldn't a proper dry cleaning remove that stain in the first place?

Avoid at all costs. They will destroy your clothing…read more Had not used this dry cleaner for about eight years after they ruined a garment of mine. I recently tried them again and deeply regret it. I'm in literal tears. They absolutely destroyed a BRAND NEW very expensive dress. It came back with a tag on the hanger advising that they were not able to remove spots without harming the garment. I thought, "What spots???" I had only worn the dress twice and I only decided to clean it because I was going to store it for winter. It wasn't dirty and it didn't have any "spots" when I brought it in for "cleaning." Tears welled in my eyes as I examined my beautiful floor length dress. There were blue splotches all over the garment, the bodice the back of the skirt, the collar. I tried it on and found that it no longer gently swept the floor as I walked. They shrank the dress and now the skirt is three inches higher and sleeves are too short to button. They are clothing destroyers. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.
