I have been going to this dry cleaner for 4 1/2 years, and within the last six months, their quality and service have declined significantly. They use big safety pins that leave holes in your items (silk scarves, dresses, sweaters), gave me back an item with stains, and most recently charged me more than double to clean a women's suit jacket because it was "oversized." The jacket isn't even bigger than a men's suit jacket. If you actually have nice clothes that you care about, save your money and go elsewhere. read more

This dry cleaner recently lost a brand new shirt and it took weeks to get reimbursed. I recently pulled out a suit they dry cleaned for me many months ago, and noticed the pants were swapped with a completely different size. Since it was so long ago and I can't find the tag, they're refusing to help me, but buyer beware: they will either take forever, forcing you to follow-up numerous times, or deny responsibility altogether. They definitely did this, because this is the only dry cleaner I've gone to for over a year now, and now I have an incomplete, ruined suit that will cost hundreds to replace. read more

DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE with a wedding dress or other expensive pieces!!!! I am getting married tomorrow and had to get it cleaned after using it for photos earlier in the week. When I got it back last night, it had TWO HUGE HOLES in the back and the side. I went back immediately and showed pictures of the damage and the woman just smiled and said oh we'll fix it but we don't MAKE holes! She literally chuckled saying this while I was about to become bridezilla because people didn't do their job!!! Total denial and she kept deflecting when I demanded a refund because now I had an obvious disaster on hand. Trust me, I inspected the dress prior to cleaning to look over all the spots that were dirty - the holes were made in their care. She just said bring it back and we have someone coming in at noon who can sew it! Absolutely NOT, I needed work ASAP because I was leaving town and would take this to the tailor that altered my dress instead. The fact that this dress was cleaned and bundled up in a tied up opaque bag that was hard to open, and just sent home with me two days prior to getting married with NO acknowledgement of the damage, is purely outrageous. I have taken other things to be cleaned here in the past but never again. Avoid avoid avoid. My friends mom who was a wedding seamstress said I should be on the news for this because it's literally a bridal nightmare. read more

I have been a faithful customer of this establishment for over 15 years. I had them clean a leather skirt, and it is totally destroyed it! I asked to speak with the owner, and person serving me pretended as if they did not know what I was talking about. My skirt was not cleaned by a professional who cleans leather. It was stretched out shape, had iron board grid mark, the lining is now longer than the skirt, and it was hung in a hanger with safety pins! I am beyond pissed! Society Cleaners - to the rescue! I'm infamous for procrastinating. I kept putting off the fact that I needed to dry clean a dress for a wedding in DC. I convinced myself that I'd have no problem dropping off the dress once I got into DC on Friday and then would pick it up Saturday morning. Easy enough, right? Luckily, my friend lives pretty close to this place and said we could stop in on our way to dinner. We popped in and I asked if I could have the dress by noon the next day. At first, the man was a little hesitant and denied my request. He said he could have it ready by 4pm. Then, the owner lady stepped in and said it'd be ready by noon, no problem. Whoa, really? Unfathomable! But, then I was thinking, watch this cost me $50 to get it dry cleaned in such a rush. Thankfully, it only cost $9.95! Nice and easy! So thankful. So grateful. As I gush. Repeatedly. I live about 3 blocks from this cleaners, which is sandwiched between Bonnie's pet-grooming and Safeway. I've been here dozens of times, they're consistent, courteous, sometimes a bit pricey, but I love them. Same day turn-around if you drop-off before 8am. (1) I once had red chalk stains from playing pool all over a grey jacket - they cleaned it, no problem. (2) I had jeans hemmed here. They use the "fold under" method instead of cutting away the excess fabric. About $12. (3) They also clean leather and suede, but the turn-around is longer, about 10 days. The outside needs a little TLC, but what cleaners doesn't. They are closed on Sundays and most holidays. read more

Do not use this cleaners. They are conveniently located a couple of blocks from my house so I've used them for years. But I stopped using them last year because they dryclean the clothes and they come back smelling stinky. I mean FUNKY, like a man's hairy sweaty balls!!!! Trust me, this is not a chemical or mildewy smell. It is human funk (and someone else's, not my own!!) Anything smelling this bad can NOT be clean. The first time this happened, about 2 years ago I took it back and they first of all kept sniffing and sniffing it, as though they couldn't smell that nasty funk from a block away, but then they cheerfully agreed to re-clean at no cost. They told me that the filter was dirty and that in the future just bring the item back and they'd re-clean. I explained to them that this was not acceptable because in the rush of a work morning I don't have time to run around and find another outfit to wear. And once, I didn't realize that my blouse stank to high heaven until I was already out the door! Well, it happened again several times last year so I haven't been back there since. But dammit, if I didn't pull a dress out of my closet today, still in the bag from the cleaning last summer reeking like a load of sweaty jock straps!!! I'm mad as hell because I was late to work running around ironing something else to wear. read more

The Soup-Nazi of dry cleaning, only they don't have scrumptious soup, or any other product or service that is any different than anyone else around. They over-charge, competitors in the area have much more reasonable prices for their sewing services and consistently are somewhat rude. Customer service is a concept that totally alludes them, much like George Kastanza's ability to taste the soup. No more soup for me, and I'm happy not go back. These people are quite rude! After reading the reviews, my girlfriend and I decided to take a chance with this local cleaner. First she took a skirt and a jacket in for cleaning. The service was good and the prices were reasonable, but the items came back with a weird, mildewy smell. The smell did fade and we didn't think much of it. About a month ago I dropped off a cotton blazer after I spilled coffee on myself while traveling. When I picked up the blazer the coffee was gone, but it was replaced by a horrendous odor. It's like mildew, grease, and gym socks rolled into one, but I didn't notice it until I got home and took the plastic off the jacket. I let the jacket air out for a week, but the smell actually seemed to get worse. Then I tried to take it back, but they naturally denied responsibility because so much time had passed. I then tried getting it re-cleaned elsewhere, but to no avail. It's been a month and the jacket is still unwearable. Worse, I can't put it in my closed because other clothes around it start to absorb the odor. I've never experienced anything like it, and am fairly certain that the jacket is ruined.
