They were patient and attentive with my request, and were quick to help me. The pricing is very fair. Although I needed my dress hemmed in a time crunch, it was a little more expensive, but I was willing to pay a little more to have it done on time. Needless to say, my dress was hemmed to perfection within 24 hours. I cannot overstate how frustrating and disappointing this experience was. I paid $85 to have a dress taken in, only to pick it up the day of my engagement party and find that it did not fit the way it had when it was originally pinned. Completely unacceptable--tailoring should be precise, and this was anything but. What truly pushed this from frustrating to outrageous was the response when I tried to address it. The manager told me, verbatim, that she "did not care" that this was for my engagement party. No accountability--just blatant indifference. It's one thing to make a mistake. It's another to show zero regard for your customer, especially when you've impacted an important, time-sensitive event. I trusted them with something meaningful and was left scrambling at the last minute with a dress that didn't fit and a business that couldn't care less. I had a meeting where I need to wear a very fancy dress coat however, I had the wrong buttons on them and needed to have them replace, and had to have them replaced very quickly. I called this business, they picked up, they were courteous, and they said that they could help me! I was on my way in less than two minutes. When I arrived, they took my information and put me in their system, and then they told me it would take about an hour. They were very friendly, and just overall great vibes from everyone there. They literally took less than an hour to sew new buttons onto my dress suit, and I couldn't have been more please. They really helped me out while I was in a bind and he did so with a smile. I will always remember their graciousness, their quality, work, and their pricing, which I found very reasonable. This will definitely be my go to tailor when I need to get work done or something altered or dry cleaned. Please note that parking is somewhat precarious. There is some parking across the street or on the same side. However, a lot of the parking is zoned parking for residents only have to go up a couple blocks and park near the convention center or the opposite direction if you want to get parking Depending on the event, it's possible that there may not even be that type of street parking so just keep that in mind. I stumbled on this place by way of happenstance and in Ned of a quick turnaround on a few items for a trip. In comes Red Valet Cleaners. I called them after finding them online one morning and in the same day got my clothing, a suit and alteration to a pair of pants done all in the same day. It was so pleased with the job and the work of the master seamstress that introduced herself as Angela. She and her husband runs this business. And, they both are wonderful and polite people. This place is fantastic! I found an otherwise ordinary knee length gingham banana republic skirt at a goodwill and decided to bring a new life to it. I brought it in, and the woman (who I believe is owner) immediately saw my vision to make it a mini skirt. She pinned the length we thought made sense and added a 3 inch slit on the side. since I didn't need it immediately I picked it up a week and a half later. The tailoring was perfect. They even attached the lining to the skirt to make it more comfortable on the inside. I'm obsessed with this piece, and the pricing was reasonable. A few things I like to look for when choosing a dry cleaning shop are 1) the welcoming environment, 2) how helpful the staff are, 3) hours of operation, 4) price, and 5) quality of services. The first time I walked into Red Valet Cleaners, I was greeted very warmly by two ladies with great smiles behind their masks (I could tell they smiled because they smized - smiles with their eyes). finding a wonderful dry cleaners such as this comes as a great relief after others have disappointed. I first came to them with a project to custom sew a slipcover for an ottoman cushion, and they took the challenge. I provided the material and the cushion, and they made a perfectly fitted cover with zipper (see pic). soon after I had a terrible apt water problem that required cleaning everything in my closet. they again rose to the challenge, taking bags of all sorts of items including precious family heirlooms. everything they cleaned was done well, they gave me a volume discount, and were flexible on downpayment as my renters insurance claim was processed. the staff are always friendly, kind, and efficient. my only complaint is the leather clothing service done by another outfit, and hopefully they will find another business partner. so happy to refer others to red valet! read more

After searching for a loooooong time, my husband and I have decided that Red Valet Cleaners is our official favorite dry cleaners. I know, I know, super big deal! A new level of commitment! But considering there is a dry cleaner literally one block from our house yet we drive to Shaw for Red Velvet, it is a level of customer seriousness worth noting. As other reviewers have noted, this place has the FRIENDLIEST staff. Seriously, they all always are smiling and eager to help. The shop is also very clean (which you would tend to expect at a dry cleaner, but isn't always the case). We've only cleaned clothes here - wool coats, suits, dress shirts, even a tie or two - and have generally been pleased with the outcome for everything except for the collar stains on my husband's work shirts. We've found this to be a somewhat common issue with dry cleaners, though. Prices are probably average for DC...not cheap but a better deal than a few other places we have tried. read more

New dry cleaners in Shaw that is offering 20% off on its services for its first two months! I think getting dresses dry cleaned is slightly less expensive than going to my beloved Besson's on 14th. The Lees are a sweet couple who graciously took all my stuff: 10 dresses, 2 cardigans, 2 suits, 1 comforter, 1 vest, and 3 jackets. I kept apologizing as I took more and more stuff out but they were very kind and receptive, saying that it was good to give them so much. They coordinated efforts. Mr. Lee took things and helped count and put items in bags as Mrs. Lee tallied things and input the items into their systems. I'm looking forward to picking everything up over the next week. Mrs. Lee made it a point to say the comforter would take a week. The other items would be ready by Wednesday and Thursday so I'll be back to pick things up in two trips. On their door it said they are open at 7 am during the week but my receipt said they are open at 7:30 am so heads up. I like that they are a block away from Giant, my grocery store, so I can run a couple of errands in one trip. read more

It pains me to write this review because the people in this little shop are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. So warm and friendly. However, their dry cleaning abilities are subpar. I've received a number of items back in worse shape than I dropped them off. They obviously do not put the amount of care into their work that they should, and I've had to buy replacements for items that they've ruined. You'll leave the shop with a big smile on your face, but when you get home and inspect your items, that smile will quickly fade. Get your stuff dry cleaned somewhere else. read more

I've taken my dry cleaning here for the past 6 months and had a couple dresses altered here - including my wedding dress. The couple that runs this shop are the nicest people! They are so sweet and do such a very nice job! I took in my wedding dress to be hemmed. Initially I found that the lining of my wedding dress was hemmed a little too short. The top layer was perfect, but the lining was hemmed about an inch shorter, so since the top layer is a little see-through you could see my shoes poking through a little bit. My mom and MOH thought it looked totally good as is, but I really wanted the lining to be the exact same length as the top layer. The alterations lady redid my lining hem and at no charge also fixed an issue I was having with the straps and it came out beautifully! They are really lovely people and do a lovely job. read more

I immediately brought my VERY EXPENSIVE RESTORATION HARDWARE COUCH COVERS to get cleaned. I paid $168 in total. I came home and opened the bags to place them on the couch and one of the covers has a huge rip that WAS NOT THERE WHEN I DROPPED THEM OFF.
