The ladies here are very friendly and professional. I had to get two items fitted because it was a bit long (pants) and also because I lost so much weight (vest). They were able to finish my items within 1-3 days. The price was reasonable. I'd come back to this place for more alterations. read more

I cannot overstate how frustrating and disappointing this experience was. I paid $85 to have a dress taken in, only to pick it up the day of my engagement party and find that it did not fit the way it had when it was originally pinned. Completely unacceptable--tailoring should be precise, and this was anything but. What truly pushed this from frustrating to outrageous was the response when I tried to address it. The manager told me, verbatim, that she "did not care" that this was for my engagement party. No accountability--just blatant indifference. It's one thing to make a mistake. It's another to show zero regard for your customer, especially when you've impacted an important, time-sensitive event. I trusted them with something meaningful and was left scrambling at the last minute with a dress that didn't fit and a business that couldn't care less. Take your money somewhere that values both quality and basic human decency. read more

I had a last-minute event that I was invited to, and needed to hem my gown with two days to spare. This place was the closest tailor to my apartment, and with the amazing reviews, I figured that I would check them out. I was immediately greeted with kindness by what appeared to be the shop owners. They were patient and attentive with my request, and were quick to help me. The pricing is very fair. Although I needed my dress hemmed in a time crunch, it was a little more expensive, but I was willing to pay a little more to have it done on time. Needless to say, my dress was hemmed to perfection within 24 hours. I cannot recommend this place enough -- between the kindness and the quality work that they do, I won't go anywhere else! read more

Outstanding small minority women-owned business & by far, one of the best cleaners in the DMV! I stumbled on this place by way of happenstance and in Ned of a quick turnaround on a few items for a trip. In comes Red Valet Cleaners. I called them after finding them online one morning and in the same day got my clothing, a suit and alteration to a pair of pants done all in the same day. It was so pleased with the job and the work of the master seamstress that introduced herself as Angela. She and her husband runs this business. And, they both are wonderful and polite people. Professional and skilled at both cleaning and alterations. Price is unbeatable, I'm so happy to have found this place. Thanks to Covid I telework more than having to run to the cleaners weekly in the past, but this place has earned my business and I will be back to patron them. Thanks Red Valet for saving me that day when this guy was desperate and in need. lol I highly recommend this business! And, after 3 visits now I can say the consistency and quality of service and cleaning is there. read more

I was in a bind, and I happened to come along this business, and they truly delivered for me. I had a meeting where I need to wear a very fancy dress coat however, I had the wrong buttons on them and needed to have them replace, and had to have them replaced very quickly. I called this business, they picked up, they were courteous, and they said that they could help me! I was on my way in less than two minutes. When I arrived, they took my information and put me in their system, and then they told me it would take about an hour. They were very friendly, and just overall great vibes from everyone there. They literally took less than an hour to sew new buttons onto my dress suit, and I couldn't have been more please. They really helped me out while I was in a bind and he did so with a smile. I will always remember their graciousness, their quality, work, and their pricing, which I found very reasonable. This will definitely be my go to tailor when I need to get work done or something altered or dry cleaned. Please note that parking is somewhat precarious. There is some parking across the street or on the same side. However, a lot of the parking is zoned parking for residents only have to go up a couple blocks and park near the convention center or the opposite direction if you want to get parking Depending on the event, it's possible that there may not even be that type of street parking so just keep that in mind. It's very close to the metro and pretty accessible in my opinion. read more

Good cleaners and repair. They can do or have someone else repair most items. Seamstress is on site. Dry clean or wash and fold. Very friendly and helpful. Good turn around with all items read more

This place is fantastic! I found an otherwise ordinary knee length gingham banana republic skirt at a goodwill and decided to bring a new life to it. I brought it in, and the woman (who I believe is owner) immediately saw my vision to make it a mini skirt. She pinned the length we thought made sense and added a 3 inch slit on the side. since I didn't need it immediately I picked it up a week and a half later. The tailoring was perfect. They even attached the lining to the skirt to make it more comfortable on the inside. I'm obsessed with this piece, and the pricing was reasonable. Now I have a new skirt and a great addition to the wardrobe! Thank you Red Valet Cleaners!!! read more

Best tailor in DC! Affordable, efficient, kind- couldn't recommend more. Will certainly be coming back to Red Valet

I've used them twice with three hour turnarounds. Clutch! Great service and attitude.

After 7 years of business I ran into Monday issue this summer and they solved my issue very quickly.

Nice people but the prices are inflated here. I was charged $16.00 to dry clean 1 cotton dress! I didn't inquire when I dropped it off so I was shocked by my bill. Beware read more

Very quick and responsive. I had two pairs of pants altered. One hemmed and the other taken in at the waist. No issues at all.

The dry cleaning is good but the tailoring is quite bad. I've had several things done and they are often not done well or the way I'd like. Then I try to get corrections and then end up paying for several expensive rounds of tailoring. Do cleaning not tailoring. read more

A few things I like to look for when choosing a dry cleaning shop are 1) the welcoming environment, 2) how helpful the staff are, 3) hours of operation, 4) price, and 5) quality of services. The first time I walked into Red Valet Cleaners, I was greeted very warmly by two ladies with great smiles behind their masks (I could tell they smiled because they smized - smiles with their eyes). Ever since then, I have continued to return to get my shirts cleaned and pants hemmed. Every encounter has been pleasant and staff are professional and courteous. Highly recommend this location to get your dry cleaning services. Such a wonderful small business. Cheers! read more

Lovely Korean family running this business. Everything was reasonably priced and cleaned on time without incident. I lost my airpod in my coat, and they returned it in a cute plastic baggy. Will definitely come again read more

finding a wonderful dry cleaners such as this comes as a great relief after others have disappointed. I first came to them with a project to custom sew a slipcover for an ottoman cushion, and they took the challenge. I provided the material and the cushion, and they made a perfectly fitted cover with zipper (see pic). soon after I had a terrible apt water problem that required cleaning everything in my closet. they again rose to the challenge, taking bags of all sorts of items including precious family heirlooms. everything they cleaned was done well, they gave me a volume discount, and were flexible on downpayment as my renters insurance claim was processed. the staff are always friendly, kind, and efficient. my only complaint is the leather clothing service done by another outfit, and hopefully they will find another business partner. so happy to refer others to red valet! read more

Went to Red Valet Cleaners to get a dress hemmed because it was right down the street from me, had great reviews, and seemed like small local business. I was not disappointed at all with their work on my dress and at an incredible value unmatched by any other tailor/alteration business I received quotes from. During both drop off and pick up, the staff were very kind and welcoming to the store. I felt genuinely appreciated as a customer, which is rare these days. I will definitely be returning for future cleaning and tailoring needs. read more

Hands down the best! I've brought numerous items to Red Valet since moving back to DC last year, many of which were significant alterations and repairs. The work is always beautifully done in a short time period and at a fair price. My husband recently caught his watch on a favorite shirt and tore the shoulder open, leaving a jagged, weakened edge. Young repaired it beautifully with the exact thread shade. It's good to go! read more

After searching for a loooooong time, my husband and I have decided that Red Valet Cleaners is our official favorite dry cleaners. I know, I know, super big deal! A new level of commitment! But considering there is a dry cleaner literally one block from our house yet we drive to Shaw for Red Velvet, it is a level of customer seriousness worth noting. As other reviewers have noted, this place has the FRIENDLIEST staff. Seriously, they all always are smiling and eager to help. The shop is also very clean (which you would tend to expect at a dry cleaner, but isn't always the case). We've only cleaned clothes here - wool coats, suits, dress shirts, even a tie or two - and have generally been pleased with the outcome for everything except for the collar stains on my husband's work shirts. We've found this to be a somewhat common issue with dry cleaners, though. Prices are probably average for DC...not cheap but a better deal than a few other places we have tried. read more

The seamstress at this place saved my life last week when she adjusted two suits for me in the span of a day so that I could wear them to a wedding weekend of a best friend. New dry cleaners in Shaw that is offering 20% off on its services for its first two months! I think getting dresses dry cleaned is slightly less expensive than going to my beloved Besson's on 14th. The Lees are a sweet couple who graciously took all my stuff: 10 dresses, 2 cardigans, 2 suits, 1 comforter, 1 vest, and 3 jackets. I kept apologizing as I took more and more stuff out but they were very kind and receptive, saying that it was good to give them so much. They coordinated efforts. Mr. Lee took things and helped count and put items in bags as Mrs. Lee tallied things and input the items into their systems. I'm looking forward to picking everything up over the next week. Mrs. Lee made it a point to say the comforter would take a week. The other items would be ready by Wednesday and Thursday so I'll be back to pick things up in two trips. On their door it said they are open at 7 am during the week but my receipt said they are open at 7:30 am so heads up. I like that they are a block away from Giant, my grocery store, so I can run a couple of errands in one trip. read more

Kind and funny owners, fair prices, excellent quality tailoring and quick service turnarounds.

It pains me to write this review because the people in this little shop are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. So warm and friendly. However, their dry cleaning abilities are subpar. I've received a number of items back in worse shape than I dropped them off. They obviously do not put the amount of care into their work that they should, and I've had to buy replacements for items that they've ruined. You'll leave the shop with a big smile on your face, but when you get home and inspect your items, that smile will quickly fade. Get your stuff dry cleaned somewhere else. read more

I brought my dress here to be hemmed and I was on quite a time crunch. Angela picked up the phone and greeted me with the warmest welcome. I asked her if she would be able to have my dress hemmed by Saturday morning and brought it in the Thursday prior. The cost is a little bit higher than what I'm used to paying in Houston, but compared to other D.C. tailors, I feel like I got a steal! Definitely support this local business! Angela was so kind and did a great job with the dress on such short notice. read more

So far, so great! Had a few work dresses dry cleaned here. I guess they adjust pricing based on material because the dresses that had wool/pleats cost more. I believe I paid about $36 for four dresses. The only other service I've tried in DC is that mobile Rinse app. Definitely prefer Red Valet over Rinse! PSA: 15% off for new customers. read more

I've taken my dry cleaning here for the past 6 months and had a couple dresses altered here - including my wedding dress. The couple that runs this shop are the nicest people! They are so sweet and do such a very nice job! I took in my wedding dress to be hemmed. Initially I found that the lining of my wedding dress was hemmed a little too short. The top layer was perfect, but the lining was hemmed about an inch shorter, so since the top layer is a little see-through you could see my shoes poking through a little bit. My mom and MOH thought it looked totally good as is, but I really wanted the lining to be the exact same length as the top layer. The alterations lady redid my lining hem and at no charge also fixed an issue I was having with the straps and it came out beautifully! They are really lovely people and do a lovely job. read more

I rarely need to use a dry cleaning service for my couch covers, so I had to find the perfect cleaners to do so. I googled Red Valet dc and read 5 star reviews. I immediately brought my VERY EXPENSIVE RESTORATION HARDWARE COUCH COVERS to get cleaned. I paid $168 in total. I came home and opened the bags to place them on the couch and one of the covers has a huge rip that WAS NOT THERE WHEN I DROPPED THEM OFF. I'm terribly disappointed and furious as these couch covers cost $1500 starting. I will never use this cleaning service again. read more
