They are generally a good cleaners. I was a customer for over a year, spent thousands of dollars on…read morecleaning and alterations, and even drove across towns for cleaning services. Unfortunately, they don't take responsibility when they lose your items. I took some valuable items there and unfortunately they lost one of the items. They gave the runaround for 2 months and then tried to give me an item that wasn't mine as a replacement. They then tried to deny responsibility. If you want a cleaners thats going to get your every day shirts and pants clean they are good for that but if you want a business that won't lose valuables and is dependable then I suggest finding a different establishment.

I thought I would have to throw them all away and it would be a lost cause. I came back to pick them up today and couldn't believe how clean and brand new they looked. I still feel like they had to have gone out and bought the same shirts, couldn't believe it was possible to recover them. Moreso, I was charged the same price I'm normally charged even thought they were so much dirtier. I don't have many dress shirts so I go here once every week and they have been so nice and the shirts have come back perfect every time. Highly recommend this place right by the Eastern Market Metro Station!

I went here once 2 years ago to get a chocolate sauce stain off of the front of a white pink dress…read moreand they did a great job! Fast forward to the present... I bought a new winter coat on Boxing Day and by February the zipper was broken! I went all over the Hill asking different tailors and cleaners if they could fix it. Everyone said the whole zipper would need to be replaced. One shop refused to do it, another admitted it would be too expensive and didn't even give me a price, the third shouted that he'd charge me $65. I got the coat for $85 on sale, so paying that much for a zipper seemed crazy. I finally tried Neighbors Cleaners. The man working the counter took at look at my coat and came to the same conclusion as all the other cleaners. BUT he was up for the job! (or he said his wife would be at least!). He immediately brought over different lengths and colors of zippers. Now this coat goes to my knees and the only zipper long enough was silver metal. I said that would be okay, but he said it would look bad and that I should have a black zipper so it all matches. He said he would call back with a quote since they would need to special order a zipper. Fast forward two weeks. I hadn't gotten a call from them yet (and I admit I could have called much earlier, but I was busy and not really thinking), so I call to check in. The coat was ready to pick up! They said it would be $42. I went after work to pick it up. The same man was there and he apologized for it being more expensive then he thought it would be and that no one called me. (My ticket said "CALL FOR PRICE" on it). I was just happy it was under $50! The zipper is securely stitched in, seems heavy duty (much better than the old broken zipper was!), and bonus that it's even longer! The old zipper stopped at least 6 inches before the bottom of the coat, but this one is only and inch or two from the bottom. More zipper! It would have been 5 stars if they called to confirm price before doing the work, but I needed this work done and it was done for less than I expected so I'm sticking with 4 stars. Plus I had a great experience using their cleaning services. I would definitely come back here for more work or to get more food stains out of my clothes :)

They said they could put them in the same machine and charge the same. A new employee today charged me twice as much for the ladies shirt, saying he could not put it on the same machine this store has been doing for years. I do not have the energy to fight this pink tax, so I'm writing this review to warn you.

She was great to talk to and made me a fan! __________________________________________________________________ There's a lot to love about The Press. It's conveniently located along Capitol Hill's Pennsylvania Avenue within walking distance to the Eastern Market Metro station, Capital Bikeshare docks and plenty of street parking. The staff are friendly and helpful. They email you the moment your clothes are ready for pick up. However, the end result of a recent visit wasn't the best. Our puppy peed on our couch cover and the spray I used to remove it stained it. I took it to The Press to be dry cleaned. It cost $20 (less than I expected to pay). However, the stain was still very clear. Perhaps dry cleaning can't get rid of everything, but when I got home, wiping it down with water made the stain go away. Correct me if I am wrong, but shouldn't a proper dry cleaning remove that stain in the first place?

Avoid at all costs. They will destroy your clothing…read more Had not used this dry cleaner for about eight years after they ruined a garment of mine. I recently tried them again and deeply regret it. I'm in literal tears. They absolutely destroyed a BRAND NEW very expensive dress. It came back with a tag on the hanger advising that they were not able to remove spots without harming the garment. I thought, "What spots???" I had only worn the dress twice and I only decided to clean it because I was going to store it for winter. It wasn't dirty and it didn't have any "spots" when I brought it in for "cleaning." Tears welled in my eyes as I examined my beautiful floor length dress. There were blue splotches all over the garment, the bodice the back of the skirt, the collar. I tried it on and found that it no longer gently swept the floor as I walked. They shrank the dress and now the skirt is three inches higher and sleeves are too short to button. They are clothing destroyers. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.
