3.5 stars -- I trusted them with my favorite summer dress (I'm thinking ahead) and spring slacks, and wasn't let down, only they starched the slacks so well, they don't really move. Eh well. You get what you pay for, and this dry cleaner was cheaper than the last one I used. Why the other .5 star, you ask? Well. Worst dry cleaner on earth. Rude staff, exorbitant prices, and horrible product. $80 to get five pair of pants shortened, and they came back wrinkled. I hope this place goes out of business. read more

The prices here are a little steep, but they are convenient for me. Other than that, there is nothing too "stand out" about this place. It's pretty small, but they do manage to work with your schedule if you need something in a rush. I will probably be switching to 11-M cleaners now though, just because it's closer to my apartment. read more

It doesn't take much for a dry cleaner to do a good job. I have kept going here because it is so close, but they have three strikes now, so I am switching dry cleaners. 1. They hemmed pants and the seam came undone after a few wears. I went back and asked them to fix it, and they said they only fix their own poor hem jobs for free when they come undone within a month. A telling policy... 2. I had a blanket dry cleaned there for $35, which is a bit steep...the blanket had wet spots when I picked it up. So much for "dry" cleaning. 3. They hemmed another pair of pants for me and they hemmed the lining to be longer than the pant leg. Needless to say, Im finding a new tailor/dry cleaner. read more

Last time. Do yourself a favor and walk a couple blocks to another cleaner. Too expensive. Takes longer. Pressed clothes still wrinkled. Left an expensive pair of pants with a rip and asked if they could have a look (I know, my mistake). The patch they added is worse than the tear. I'll be going elsewhere from now on. read more

I switched to Rainbow Cleaners 5 years ago because it was easier to park by than the other place on 13th street and I haven't regretted it for one minute. Ms. Lee is always a delight! I've been doing wash and press shirts here weekly, as well as alterations and dry cleaning for the GF sporadically and always a good result. I'm a regular customer here since it is on the way to my office. Brought my favorite white dress to Rainbow Cleaners and when I got it back there was a small black scuff mark. I told them about the problem and they were so kind... and apologetic about the whole situation. They told me that they would dry-clean it until the stain went away. After the 2nd time, it came back with no stain. Great customer service. read more

I don't know why people are complaining about the high prices as the prices here are the lowest in the neighborhood. And under the new management the service is fast, friendly, and impeccable. I've entrusted Mrs Lee with my treasured vintage poplin shirts and always marvel at the care with which they've been cleaned and pressed. read more

Decent drycleaners. The owner (Korean lady) is really nice and I would love to go back as it's in a convenient location but sadly, it's not worth it. Prices are pretty high although the owner did offer 10% off when I mentioned that I was a new customer. Offer shoe repairs as well. read more

I've been going to Rainbow Cleaners for over a year and have had nothing but good service. They've never missed an item and have returned cuff links that I left on a shirt. I've had them do a few extras like sewing a button and it's always worked out fine. They know my name, and they love when I bring in the dog. Friendly, low-key, timely. Silk shirts and dresses came back with the colors running, and more than one bleach spot. They did okay with regular dress shirts, but giving one star because one of the shirts they ruined was designer - they agreed to pay for their damage at one price after some negotiation, then only gave us half that when we went to pick up the compensation. This place is the most convenient, but we take the extra few steps to go to Georgetown Valet around the corner. Haven't had any problems there. read more

The staff are rude and have no concept of customer service. I took a shirt in and it came back with black ink stains on the front. They cleaned it a 2nd time, but the stains didn't come out. I asked them to try again which they did begrudgingly. The stains are still on the shirt and no form of apology. They wouldn't even refund the cost of that shirt being cleaned. The woman behind the counter started arguing with me in front of other customers. An awful experience. I will walk further to take my cleaning to someone else that will care even if I have to pay more. Give this place a miss especially the obnoxious woman. read more

Every time I've gotten things cleaned here they have caused damage. The most recent time being when I brought a vintage piece to be dry cleaned and had it returned to me with a massive rip in the silk collar. When I brought it down to them to point it out, they blamed me for the mistake. Upon my insistence they brought it back to the main cleaning location in Georgetown to check. They have not only failed to apologize for their mistake they yelled at me, saying that I waited too long to bring it back to note the mistake! Words of advice, DON'T USE THEM! Despite their great location, these cleaners are horrible and rude. read more

Changed owners recently. Dry cleaning service seems the same (gets the clothes clean, but buttons might come back cracked and minor tears aren't fixed or pointed out proactively). Avoid the shoe repair service; shoes might come back in worse condition or with parts missing! read more

I used This Dry Cleaner for five weeks for my dress shirts. On the fifth week in June of 2016 two of my five shirts came back with broken buttons and ripped sleeves. I was asked to pay for this and no reimbursement was offered. I never went back. read more

I should have listened to the reviews here. They are good enough for regular items such as shirts and even suits, but don't give them any special items. I just gave them a few sweaters and one came back all faded. I think they used some kind of bleach or something. I'll probably be switching to Georgetown Valet now. Cheap, and does a good job on basic dry cleaning. No problems with any shirts or suits I have had dry cleaned.

This is my go to dry cleaners and tailor. Their prices are some of the lowest I've seen in the area and the service is great. The owner remembered my name by my third visit. Love that this place is dog friendly, and the owner gives treats to my dog when I bring him. read more

I needed to get a basic summer cocktail dress cleaned. I tried the dress on the night before I dropped it off at Rainbow to make sure it still fit & was good to go...and it was! Went to Rainbow for my first time to drop it off, pointed out a small stain and asked for it to be cleaned. The woman took the dress & asked me if the fabric was satin to which I replied "I'm not sure, but there is a tag inside the dress which will tell you." A few days later I picked the dress up, pleased that the small stain was gone, and headed out of town for the wedding. When I went to get dressed on the wedding day I discovered that the interior lining, which was a different fabric than the shell of the dress, had shrunk a good size or 2! Ended up being the most uncomfortable wedding I've ever attended due to my wardrobe malfunction...I won't be returning. read more

I have only good things to say about Rainbow Cleaners. I live close by and I rely on them to dry clean all of my dress clothes and to repair and shine my shoes. Mrs. Lee, who runs the shop, has proven to be particularly committed to taking care of her customers' needs. On one occasion, I dropped off a suit of mine for dry cleaning on a Wednesday that I planned to wear to an interview in New York that upcoming Monday. That Friday, after Mrs. Lee told me that the suit was ready for pickup, I told her that I would not be able to pick up the suit on either Friday or Saturday and that I was traveling up to New York on Sunday. I asked if there was any possible way she could deliver it to my apartment building on Friday evening. Without hesitation, Mrs. Lee delivered my dry cleaned suit to my building. I would anticipate she would be willing to go out of her way to make sure your particular needs are met as well. read more

I have been going to Rainbow Dry Cleaners for a little over a year now and I can honestly say they're the best I've ever seen. It's located at 12&L, but even after we moved to the Dupont Circle area my husband continued to make the trip there to get his dry cleaning. I didn't understand why until I started taking my clothes there myself. Within the first couple trips there, the people working there had already remembered my name as well as who I was. They are extremely friendly and all about customer service. Definitely the best I've seen so far. As far as the prices go, it's cheap for amazing quality. The prices are one of the lowest I've seen, and my clothes come back beautifully every time. Recently I even had a pair of heels re-heeled for the first time with them and once again I was extremely pleased with the turn out. Going to the dry cleaners, an everyday normal activity, is always so great with them. Neve have I seen a cleaners where they care more about the customer than the business. read more
