So, I don't do reviews but Ima do this. I'm cool with Michael. If you don't like hard, old guy humor I don't recommend him. He's been around a long time and he's comfortable. I say this cause I personally don't think very new drivers should take lessons here. I've taken 10 lessons with Michael and each time was cool because I already know the basics of driving. Although, I did fail the road test; that was not due to Michael not teaching me what I had to know. The lady was rude, overwhelming, & honestly wrote down a bunch of things I did NOT do wrong in my receipt paper, but told me she couldn't pass me cause I made a U turn instead of going left onto the next street. So, beware. Anyways, Michael is a great guy. He likes to go slow, talk on the phone, stop at places. Never has that taken any time away from my learning. He's always delivered my time back to me. If you're not experienced at all, maybe another place would be more on hands. Other than that, he's a great conversationalist. He makes sure your comfortable & the car is basic. Nothing too crazy. The 5 hour class here was a bit tedious. The old VHS player wasn't working so we did everything on the board. Wasn't too bad. read more

Michael is great ! He provides all the tips and tricks necessary and has a remarkable amount of patience with his students. In just a few lessons, Michael was able to adjust my mistakes in parallel parking and K-turns, so I was able to confidently pass my driving exam! The cost for his lessons and car for the exam is extremely reasonable (beating the prices of most other schools around.) I definitely recommend the Real Auto Driving School. read more

DO NOT COME HERE...This place is so unreliable and they steal your money. First off, the 5 hour class is not even up to date and you listen to unnecessary things for all of Sunday. You can go anywhere else and get your 5 hour class done in less than 3 hours. Second off, he charges you to schedule the actual road test which is a free online site on the DMV that you can do on your own. Third, he will text you saying that he schedule your road test, but when you get to the road site, they will NOT be able to find your name. You just wasted money and time to wait for another availability to take the road test. I would not recommend anyone going here. read more

Yes (according to another comments), he sometimes speaks with other students by mobile, but its ok, i have expirience - ALL instructors use cell-phones during Your lesson. Passed on the first shot, amazing instructor. All the bad reviews written just didn't understand his way of teaching . He is strict but for a reason, I was a nervous wreck my first time in his car and 8 lessons later took the road test confidently and passed. His being strict is the only reason i passed. I just want to begin by saying how great of an experience I had with this school. It'seems Mike is in charge of the 5 hour safety course and giving driving lessons for road test. Not only was there a large client base but it seems everyone wants to sign up for his lessons!! so if you can catch him your in luck . He is a great teacher he actually takes the time to pick you up and makes you feel very comfortable as he gives you instruction. He is an older sophisticated man who is highly dependable and reasonable. He came to pick me up at my house early as 6am!!!!! very flexible schedule and I passed my road test the first time!!!!!! has been in the service for years, he has a great car for practice and amazing instructor highly recommend!!!!! read more

Michael is the best driving teacher I have ever had. I started taking lessons at 19 years old and I had one teacher before him who was a nervous teacher and I didn't respond well to that. Michael is always calm with the student, punctual, accommodating, and engaging with the student. He helped me schedule my road test with ease. His prices are also very reasonable. I took with Michael around 15 lessons, and in any of those he didn't teach me how to park the car. He was charging me 35$ for 45 minutes, from these 45 min he was talking on the phone minimum 20 min, not paying attention to me, and always having 5 min stops for his personal needs (coffee, mail etc.). If you know how to drive, and need just 1 lesson, he could be O.K, but if you are a new driver, he would try to get all the money he can from you and still, at the end you will realize that you don't know how to drive read more

Before you read this review, keep in mind that I am not mad or angry with Michael (the driving instructor and owner of Real Auto Driving School). I am just giving my honest opinion based on what I experienced compared to what I expected/hoped for in a driving school/driving instructor. Michael is extremely disrespectful, unprofessional, curses incessantly, and taught me improperly for the driving test. The first two times I had him, he showed me how to park one way (one-handed) and the next lesson, he told me that way is wrong and I had to park another way on the driving test (two-handed). He also told me to drive on the right side of the road and on the driving test, I got points off for doing exactly that. The driving inspector during the road test said, "Why aren't you driving in the middle of the road?". The car is also very old and in bad condition (as other reviewers may have mentioned). Not only that, but during your driving lessons, you're literally just driving to his next lesson and once your 45 minutes is over, you pick up his next student, they take the driver's wheel, and then they drive you home. Basically you're wasting a whole 30 minutes of your time waiting for them to drive you back. This happens EVERY single lesson for pretty much everyone (I personally know other people who went to his driving school and experienced the same things I did). I highly recommend you find another place for driving lessons. Btw I passed the road test on my first try but that's only because I practiced with my father and his car a lot. After I passed, Michael asked what happened and I told him I passed. He then said, "Ok give me 5 stars since you passed." He says that to everyone who passes on the first time so please keep that in mind when you look through these review and see 5 star reviews. Everything Michael teaches or doesn't teach you you can be learned in the driving manual on the DMV website for FREE and you can just keep those rules/information in mind while you're practicing with someone over 18 who has a license (who can give you tips while you're driving as well). His classes aren't worth it. Also, after the driving test, he was driving me and another one of his students back home and said he had to stop at the bank to run some errands. His other student and I waited in the car for approximately 30 minutes for him to run his errands. Basically, all you need to know for the DMV driving test is to make sure to stop for 3 seconds on a stop sign, drive in the middle of the road, how to park and to park with two hands on the steering wheel, how to properly do a K-turn (aka 3-point turn), maintaining speed according to the speed limit in the given area, and the way you turn into a street (make sure you don't turn too wide/too close to the cars that are parked or else you'll get points off for that too). I have NEVER in my life wrote a review, but I felt that this was necessary. Before I start I would just like to say that all the positive comments written here were personally asked by Mike to write one. First off I want to say that after taking lessons with Mike I'm horrified to know that this place actually has business. Not only will your lessons consist of him constantly talking on the phone, taking/ dropping him off places, but as well as picking up other students and wasting your time while they drop you off. Personally I was taught to park one way, and only 2 lessons before my road test I was taught a different way. To top everything off, I believe Mike either assumed I was deaf or couldn't understand Russian but he decided it was appropriate to whisper to another student before I went into the car to take my road test that I was going to fail. (FYI I passed) That not only shot my confidence, but made me feel like I have just wasted money for no reason. (Another FYI the first lesson we had when if was just "considering" if I should take him he told me I had a gift for driving and wouldn't have a problem.) I could continue this review for pages, but I feel this is an adequate warning. Please be careful when you consider finding a driving instructor. There's awesome instructors out there, so don't get stuck in an experience like this! read more

Mike is great! Really does a good job getting you to relax when you drive, which was my biggest problem coming in. Teaches you the correct driving maneuvers needed to pass the road test easily, which I was able to do my first time . Highly recommended. read more

Michael is the worst driving instructor I have ever had. I took a lesson with him because my instructor couldn't make it that day. He was rude, unprofessional and lacked even the slightest integrity that you would expect from a driving instructor. During the lesson he continuously cursed in Russian, and made completely inappropriate comments about how men become homosexual because women wear short shirts and shorts and thus leave nothing to the imagination. He also told me that I sound like a young teenager despite being older, which was completely offensive and unprofessional . It is clear that he lacks class, respect for himself and for others. However, this was not even the worst part of the driving lesson. He made me drive to ANOTHER STUDENT'S HOME AND THEN LET THAT STUDENT DRIVE US BACK TO MY HOUSE FOR 30 MINUTES AFTER MY LESSON WAS OVER. I found this completely ridiculous. I had to sit in the car for an extra HALF HOUR while I was driven back by a student who was a worse driver than I am, and I was afraid for my safety at some points during the driving lesson. When I told him that it is not right to waste my time and for me to have to sit there and be driven home by another student after my lesson was over, he told me, "well, then walk home," and smiled. I cannot make this stuff up. Avoid him at all costs. There are much better instructors out there that charge less than 40 dollars, which is what this unpleasant elderly man charges. Also, please take into account that it is possible to create many Google accounts and review the same business favorably. Michael is a highly unpleasant, shamelessly rude, offensive and unprofessional instructor that lacks integrity. It is unfortunate that people like him give Russians a bad name. read more
