He treated me like family and genuinely cared about me as a person, instead of as a business transaction, like other places sometimes do. I learned the basics of driving, as well as safety while doing so. He was kind and patient with me, which was very important because I was so nervous, being that this was my first experience driving at all and the first one in my immediate family to ever drive! I passed the road test at 9 months pregnant and Paul never once doubted me. Dmitry, was also great with scheduling the road test to accommodate my time crunch and gave great tips right before the test. They are a great team! Highly recommend!

He told me to call him back in a few days, to agree on services. I called back in agreed time. He told me to call back tomorrow. Which I did. Again, I was told to call back the next day. Which I did. And the next day. And two weeks went by in such fashion. I had a deadline by which I needed to take the driving test, so I could not waste weeks on "tomorrows." I was fed up with "call me tomorrow." Came in for the pre-driving certification course. Paid $40 for the certificate [which you need to register and attend the driving exam]. Due to covid--19, all pre-driving instruction lessons were to be held in a virtual format. Was told I will receive instructions for the course in the email. Never happened. It's been a month, still waiting. Basically paid $40 for a piece of paper. Dmitriy scheduled my driving exam without ever even agreeing on one driving lesson. I specifically said every time I called that I need to take driving lessons. He kept telling me "call me tomorrow." He is very busy, so why not say that up front and not waste expectant customers' time? Many other driving schools available all over Brooklyn. Many more professional instructors who won't waste your time and take your money gladly. After I called for the 100th time, nearly losing my patience, he gave me his brother's phone. Pavel also charges $50 per one hour driving class. I tried one class, and want to warn you to run the other way. Pavel wasted exactly half of an hour telling me stories of all his thousands of customers over the years, occasionally adding a few tips on driving. When I actually, finally drove, he would not shut up with stories about people who I could care less about. He kept on talking, and Talking, and TALKING! I said that I was distracted by all the empty stories. Pavel kept on telling me the anecdotes which I couldn't care less for. He was very animated, kept making loud, sudden, jerking movements to illustrate his anecdotes. All the unnerving, loud, distracting comments and movements intensified my stress and gave me a massive headache. I learned absolutely nothing during the lesson. Had to stop for him to use the restroom in the middle of our lesson. My hour ran out pretty quickly. Pavel had another lesson scheduled back to back, so a stranger was driving me home for another half an hour, which is not how a driving class works. I was shaking, near a mental breakdown at the end of our experience. Spare yourself the nerves and time. Choose someone who would have time and respect for you. Do not recommend and will warm anyone I know to stay away from such unprofessional service.

This makes it difficult to schedule lessons, road tests, and the 5 hour course. I prefer talking to Michelle over Joe any day. Sometimes the instructors run over an hour late and don't even let you know until you ask them. Brian is a terrible instructor. I let him know that I had no driving experience, but he always expects me to already know how to do things. He'll tell you to change lanes with no instructions beforehand and then get mad when you don't know how to do it properly. The most alarming issue is that he is almost always asleep during the lesson. He will randomly wake up and mumble random directions that conflict with what he said just a minute ago (which is not helpful for a new driver). Because he's sleeping and snoring for most of the lesson, he can't even answer questions because he doesn't know what's going on around him. The rare times that he is awake, he constantly makes offensive comments. He is extremely racist, sexist, and ableist. I don't know why he thinks it's okay to say such inappropriate things. If you MUST go to this school for whatever reason, ask for Tom (the only other instructor). He actually teaches (and stays awake).

After taking close to 25 lessons with him, I finally passed my driver's license road test as an older adult and I'm absolutely floored. He's very laid back and very approachable in terms of asking questions and giving specific pointers. I am a nervous driver so I need to talk through things. I like that he focuses on the basics of driving so you know the intricacies of how to maneuver a car well. He let me schedule an extra lesson a day before the DMV test which i thought was very thoughtful. What stands his school apart from other driving schools is that he never pushed me to take the exam in a rush and let me take more classes (outside of my driving package) until I felt ready. I actually found him from his YouTube videos online (*search road test ready driving) which are quite informative. I especially liked his 5 hour class where he provided more in depth q&a with road test scenarios instead of watching a video about not doing drugs while driving (which is what other schools do). The only downside is that the instructor is highly popular and it took me a month or so to even get an initial lesson. Pretty reasonable rates for Brooklyn if you are willing to meet him at his work site, and his lessons are an entire hour not 45 mins. Highly highly recommend!

My learning experience with Al Noor was fantastic. The lessons are affordable, the staff members of…read morethe school are friendly, and the teachers are encouraging. My main instructor was Ron. He's an excellent and patient teacher, and did a wonderful job drilling the road test requirements with me. I also had a few lessons with Mohammad. He was also excellent and very patient as well, including exposing me to the type of day-to-day driving which isn't on the road test (like going on a highway). Since they both use different cars (makers and models), I also had some exposure to the variations in how cars handle. Another advantage is that the area where the school is located has diverse traffic conditions within a few blocks. Side streets are very quiet and residential with little traffic and few pedestrians, which is better to get used to turning, accelerating and braking, looking out at stop signs etc. Some of the main streets have moderate traffic, while Foster Ave itself is usually very busy. So it's a great location to practice driving in different conditions. I got my license and will probably take a couple of additional practice sessions before feeling comfortable driving by myself. She has taken numerous lessons but never gave up under the guidance of Li 师傅. He had been so patient, so encouraging, and so helpful that on the 4th road test time, my mother managed to pass. My mother can now officially drive on the road by herself (just kidding, too soon). But she got her driver's license and 100% it's because of Li 师傅。 Her constant failures have made her almost give up but he told her not to give up and it is normal to fail. As I have a busy schedule after September, I started driving (like completely beginner) at the start of this month and took the test on the 26th. This isn't ideal but worked out for me. The team is extremely thorough with teaching everything you need to know to pass the test and drive safely on the road. I signed up for the 15 classes package and that includes them helping me sign up for the road test and drop/pick up at the road test (using their school car for the actual road test). Overall, a great experience! Would recommend.
