From the moment I walked into Read Between the Lines, I felt like I had found one of those hidden gems you almost don't want to tell people about because it feels so special. The store is beautifully curated, and everything is displayed with so much care that I honestly didn't want to leave. I originally stopped in to pick up gifts, and one of my favorite touches was that they gift wrapped everything for me. It made me feel special as a customer, but it also saved me the extra stop of having to buy gift bags, paper, or tissue. Such a thoughtful service and honestly a brilliant touch. The staff was warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. I could easily spend an hour in here just browsing, discovering little treasures, and enjoying all of the amazing scents throughout the store. They also have unique jewelry, keychains, and other beautiful gifts that make it easy to find something for almost anyone. I went in and found your books, and I also visited the clearance section and found the most wonderful chocolate for giftgiving. Everything was a great price. I don't remember if they offer military discount or not, but I will definitely ask next time. The location was convenient, parking was easy with the nearby garage, and even my children enjoyed walking through the store with me. This wasn't just a shopping trip. It felt like an experience. The store was great to search for Christmas gifts in. Wonderful selection of all sorts of gift items at a variety of price points. Read Between the Lines has priced everything fairly relative to their quality and how ritzy the shopping area. Brady was so helpful and perfect in his cheerful commentary and demeanor. I really enjoyed browsing this woman-owned gift and stationary shop! They have tons of unique birthday cards and fun paper goods for your office space or whatever your fancy. It's a small boutique type store but they have wall to wall novelty items, almost like a museum! Also really enjoyed browsing their candle line. Valentine's Day is near and they were fully stocked with heart themed sunglasses and sweet décor. You can find anything from thank you cards to high end candles here, the staff is usually very helpful. We came here on a Saturday to buy a wedding card and it wasn't too busy. I don't think I would ever spend $300 on a candle, but to each their own :) read more

Fabulous store! My husband and I come to Legacy a lot, but this is our first time in the store, and we went Christmas shopping. They have a lot of gifts/stocking stuffers and decor you wouldn't find anywhere else. The owner is the absolute sweetest and so so accommodating, as soon as we stepped foot inside the store she was so helpful. I work from the WeWork at the Legacy West from time to time when in Dallas and I make it a point to stop by this adorable, women-owned paper goods store. Paper stores these days are a dime a dozen, but every so often I come across one that is really well curated, like Read Between the Lines. I love their selection of cards and other fun products. I also appreciate that many of their items are from other local, women-owned businesses. A few tidbits of info: If you'd like to mail in the spot, they sell stamps. The shop is adorable and had been a great go-to for gifts. It reminds me of Tender Loving Empire in Portland, OR. I've loved browsing whenever I'm in the area... But do I have to be Caucasian or married or older to be offered water or prosecco? I was in there twice on the same day and had purchased a cute card for a friend. (There is an entire wall dedicated to cute cards.) A middle-aged Caucasian couple walks in and is immediately greeted and offered the above. I wondered if I would then be offered the same, but that never happened. Someone please explain it to me because I can't read between the lines (heh). Were they the owners or part of a special membership? (It sounded like they had never been there.) Did they appear to be richer than I and thus better prospects as potential customers? (Probably true but I had already bought something.) Did I buy something too soon? (Is that a problem?) Why was there even water and prosecco in the shop to begin with? (That's the real question.) It was such a strange experience to be ignored when I was right there and had already made a purchase. I don't usually review places based on service. I'm not so high maintenance as to require a certain level of service. I admit sometimes I respond to friendly service with too much shyness and maybe a millenial deer-in-the-headlights sort of expression... but what a strange situation. Should I have asked for water or prosecco then, after an awkward period of silence in which I was not offered? Would that perpetuate negative stereotypes? What would have been the best way to navigate that situation? (I'm now reading reviews and seeing that it's not a seasonal thing. I can't believe I've never been offered water when I walked in all those times. Did they sense that my new year's resolution was to stop using one-use plastic bottles?) The customer service is absolutely beautiful and the people who work there are so nice. They're always willing to help and they will go out of their way to find an item that you need. Although everything might be a little pricey, it's worth it because of the wide array of things that they have (notebooks, books, cards, candles, perfumes, etc.). I cannot say enough good things about this store! Along with all the great items they have, the customer service is top-notch. I went in to return some wine glasses I got as a gift. (They were beautiful, I just already have so many.) The employees were so accommodating and patient. I ended up falling in love with the martini glasses in the same design but they only had 2/4 on hand. I went ahead and bought the two (among a few other fun things), and gave them my info for when more came in. Gabrielle text me promptly the following week letting me know they had gotten them in and that she would put some aside for me. I was already impressed that they remembered me, but was even more taken aback when I started unwrapping the package of the two glasses my Fiancé had picked up for me. Without him knowing they had snuck in the cutest "Mrs." pin because he had told them we were getting married soon. It almost made me cry - in this day and age seems like there is so much more negative than positive in the world that little things like that make all the difference. What an amazing place! Not only was there so much to choose from, the staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to find me the perfect gift for my New York City friends.
