I originally stopped in to pick up gifts, and one of my favorite touches was that they gift wrapped everything for me. It made me feel special as a customer, but it also saved me the extra stop of having to buy gift bags, paper, or tissue. Such a thoughtful service and honestly a brilliant touch. The staff was warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. I could easily spend an hour in here just browsing, discovering little treasures, and enjoying all of the amazing scents throughout the store. They also have unique jewelry, keychains, and other beautiful gifts that make it easy to find something for almost anyone. I went in and found your books, and I also visited the clearance section and found the most wonderful chocolate for giftgiving. Everything was a great price. I don't remember if they offer military discount or not, but I will definitely ask next time. The children's area had the most toys I've ever seen at any of these places. And even thought it's large, I saw things that remind me of what a thoughtful bookstore should have in it. Children sitting on benches reading and laughing. Teens talking about the books they're buying and looking forward to reading that story. And adults having fun with their children. And I must say, isn't that what a bookstore should be about? Laughter, imagination, excitement to read. It truly made my heart happy to see and feel their joy as I walked through the book isles. There's a B&N store close to my house, and I never see or feel what I experienced at this store. That speaks volumes to me. And yes, I bought a book. Clearly the management has no desire whatsoever to hire friendly or competent staff. The store does have some cute items (but not much different than Hobby Lobby). I love shopping and would probably shop at this boutique more often but I actually avoid the store because I find the employees or owners very unfriendly and that has stayed consistent over the years. I have never been "welcomed" at Hearts Desire or asked "is there something you are looking for" or been told "thank you for shopping". I get a very inhospitable vibe from this store that comes off very catty. Anyway no more shopping here for me, not even in a time crunch. I will spend my money elsewhere and I suggest the same for other shoppers.
