This is such a fun home decor place! I found some great finds today and nothing was over priced! Great quality and nice employees!

Boho and farmhouse lovers unite! The Market at Fairview has it: candles, light fixtures, vintage books, dried florals, cushions, glassware, prints. Everything needed to create your own look! So so so much to take in and explore! The way in which the store is curated, it's just enough to gain inspo but still spread out enough to give you a treasure hunting high! Pricing was super reasonable (area rugs for $70, light fixtures around $100). Every crevice has something to look at!

I am at the frame of mind that every old building reaches a point where it should become a…read morebookstore. When a building becomes well over 100 years old and in this case, specifically over 130 years old, it has seen some history within its walls. That history becomes as interesting as the books that it contains within. The building develops its own soul if you will, comprised of all of th souls who once dwellers within it. Neighbor Books was laid out kind of interesting for me. The way it is designed it gave me a feeling of a rather limited selection of titles, but maybe it was just an illusion. This place is a community hub with great energy for sure. It was neat to see neighbors seeing each other and catching up. My only complaint about the place is that while I was there, there were several kids rambunctiously running up and down the stairs. That's not necessarily Neighbor's "fault" but it is a bit alarming and does affect the ambiance of the place.

There was an author…read morethere selling his play he wrote from A Christmas Carol, and his play was being performed at the towns square theater that day. How delightful! It screamed vintage Christmas to me as I stood in this beautiful bookstore. I had to find the children's area, and it was charming! A fake fireplace was designed just for the holidays, and so many diverse books were displayed for children and adults. There were so many great choices! And once you stop and really look at the store, you see the beauty it has to offer. Gorgeous old stairs cases take you up to the second floor that circled around the building and it was designed for readers. How thoughtful! Yes, the whole experience was appreciated. I felt the warmth of a bookstore bringing cheer to life. Oh, and I bet you're wondering if I bought the play A Christmas Carol - and the answer is YES! Signed and tucked into my purse, ready to add it to my Christmas decorations.

I called to see about getting my grandson's Bible repaired. It looked like he had played a few…read moregames of basketball with it. The back was off, but the inside Bible itself was intact. The price quoted was a lot with a 10 week wait! But after they explained what repair entailed and what to look for when purchasing a BIble that lasts, I understood. I didn't get the name of the person that spoke to me, but she had excellent customer service skills and she used them, taking time to explain the process so very kindly. I decided to just buy the kid a new Bible (one not glued, but sown together, her recommendation) but if I ever need a book repair service, they will surely get my business. And, I'll be sure to pass on their info. Customer service is a lost art, but not at The Book Doctor!

If you want a quick-and-dirty commercial fix, this is not your place. But if you are looking for a European time machine that will take a beloved book back to what it was or even better, this is the spot for you. We came to the Book Doctor with a small devotional, quite honestly a lost cause with no cover or binding and several severely damaged pages. We were hoping for some sort of cover and binding to preserve it since it is of great sentimental value and over 90 years old. What we received back was a gorgeous gem, a true made-to-order family heirloom. Not only was the cover beautiful, the binding is a work of art and pages we thought were lost forever were delicately and expertly restored. We stand amazed. Again, if you expect to do it on the cheap and have it by next week, forget it. But if the book in question matters to you and you budget for time and money, plan in advance, make an appointment with one of their experts, then expect the best. These are artisans who will pour all their skill and experience into your valued piece and devote entire days solely to its restoration.
