Overall, the whole experience took about an hour. The candle can be picked up within 4 hours, but you cannot light it until 24-48 hours later. The staff that helped us were very friendly. I have been dying to do a candle-making class for years now because I love love love me some candles! I am so glad I found this place on Yelp because it is spectacular. I made a reservation for noon on Saturday (8/13), and when I arrived, I was the only person there, so I felt like a VIP for my entire session! The two ladies whose names I'm blanking on were absolutely amazing and so helpful. This establishment offers much more than candles, and you can choose which item you want to customize. I went there only to make 2 different types of candles. In addition, let me say that I had no idea how candle making works, so I was beyond surprised when I got the opportunity to smell over 20+ different candle scents and write down the ones I liked. Also, before smelling the different scents, you will first pick the type of jar you want your candle in, and this is what determines the price of your candle. They have all different ounces available, from 12oz to 24oz, I believe, but they may have even bigger ones. This is an excellent place for big groups and special events. I truly enjoyed my experience here, and I will certainly be back in the fall to make 2 more candles and maybe a body scrub. I will definitely recommend this place itto a lot of people! read more

I went to Rocky Creek with my skeptical husband this morning. In the car on the way there he said, "This is going to be so boring." and "I really hope this isn't a waste of my money." We got to the store at around 11:15am and the whole store was empty (which was honestly really lovely) except for one of the kindest women I've ever met. She explained each step to my husband and I in great detail and let us embark on our journey through the store. He and I smelled all of the scents together and laughed and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. We narrowed our scents down to about 8, and the wonderful lady helped us choose which 3 we were going to end up with. My husband had a hard time choosing, so he asked the woman to surprise him with the scent and she said "Nope!" with a huge smile and encouraged him to make a decision for himself because this was his candle. The moral of the story is, after we left the store I turned to my smiling husband and asked him, "Did you have a good time?" and he said "It couldn't have been better." read more

This location has amazing deals the shop is a family owned and operated the owners and their daughter were amazing and fun to work with. This also allow for us to bring our own wine to drink during the entire candle experience. Came here this past weekend to celebrate my birthday and everything was great! For starters, my friends and I are huge candle people, so when I found this place I was nothing but excited. We made reservations online to do "The Scent Experience" which allows you to make your OWN candle scents, body washes, wax melts, sugar scrubs and more. When I came, it was just our party and we met the owner, the son and a family friend. I forgot everyone's names but they were all sweet and extremely helpful. You start by picking out what you want to make, I opted for an owl candle ($30), wax melts ($12) and a sugar scrub, ($13 I think). Then, we smelled all their existing candles and wrote down the ones we liked on a form they provided. Once we picked those out, we went back to our seats and began the process. We would pick a scent for each product, and mixed them as we pleased until we got the perfect mixture. They guided us through the first one, then let us free to continue making other items. Not only did we get to make our own items, it was BYOB & we were able to bring food. I was stuck between I don't wanna leave but I also don't want to spend any more money. (We also ended up buying tickets for another event/birthday) lmao.. that's how much fun we had! read more

My boyfriend and I stopped by Rocky Creek Candle today before dinner for our 6 monthiversary. It was so fun!! Joel helped us out and he was fantastic. At checkout in store after selecting our scents, making a candle and wax melts. None of the online fee went towards the product purchase. I was impressed with the candle making process & really had fun doing it. My issue is the booking fee. You have to pay $15 to book in advance. No problem. I assumed like most businesses that charge booking fees that they would subtract it from my purchase once all was said & done. Nope. I clarified with one of the workers after I noticed it was not taken off my receipt. She said they had issues with people scheduling & not showing up. Understandable. So I go "when people no show you keep the $15, but when they do show up you keep the $15?" She said yes that's just how they do it. As a business owner myself that's poor practice & I'm sure other complaints will come up soon. I was not expecting the super fun amazing delicious WOW date night that we had here!! We each made our own candle with scents that we got to pick out from a huge selection! Then we got to try some different wine and chocolate pairings, learned a little about different wines from Destinations Wine Bar and a bit about the makings of chocolate from Cocoa Vina. The experience was only made that much better by the friendly shop owner and "candletier," Susan. I loved how she took an already fun event and brought in other local businesses to take things to the next level. I loved every bit of this evening! I've had two experiences at Rocky Creek Candle and both were phenomenal. Our first experience was so good that we had to come back again soon after with more family that was coming from out of town. The entire experience is pleasant, from the wide variety of item selection (not just candles! although that's what I did both times), a fun process and heart-warming people. This was a fun Saturday activity. Would be great for a pre-teen birthday or such. It's a very fast process. Less than an hour total. Lots of choices on scents and the process is well instructed. We chose our scents, and vessel, mixed our wax and scents and poured our candles in less than an hour. Then went to lunch while they set. All in less than an hour.
