This was my first time visiting the Frisco Mercantile. I was in the area for a girls trip and we needed a rainy-day activity. This was perfect. The shop is essentially an indoor flea market with vendors offering both new and vintage items. Prices naturally spanned the gamut due to the wide selection. The mercantile may not be an easy place for small children due to the sheer number of items to tempt their fingers. read more

All the individual vendors have price tags on their items for sale & all the sales staff are super nice & friendly. Dawn was our favorite bc she talked all the while she packed up & wrapped our glass & ceramic collectibles in bubble wrap & paper! While in Dallas from out of town, we stumbled upon this antique store. While the place wasn't well organized and clean, it was 90% just furniture or house decorations, 5% re-sellers of socks and other stuff, and 5% of handmade stuff. I think I found one of my favorite places to shop! They gave so many items that I adore! I love how they have different sections for each theme, making it easier to visualize the space that you are shopping for. They have a little bit country and a lot of Rick and roll, by that I mean that they have something for EVERYONE. Not sure if merchants are claiming something vintage that is not. Claimed poster was from 1930s but really it's cut out of the 2023 National Geographic calendar. A $20 calendar that has 12 pages for 12 months. That's 1.67 per page. That is a $1.67 page for 94.50. It claims it's from the 30s but it's not, just seems dishonest and I understand making a profit, but 94.50 come on this print in reality is from a 2023 calendar book that goes for $20. If you're going to do that and charge that much, claim what you're doing. No reason to lie about the age of the item. read more

I had been a dealer in Frisco Mercantile since 2014 before the current manager, Linda Westemeyer, started there. I had a locked showcase selling silver/gold jewelry, some were priced at a few thousands. In early 2022, my showcase was broken into twice within a month by the same thief during the opening hours. As a result, I lost more than $10,000 from the two break-ins. The store was not responsible for any of the loss even though it's under their watch and in a way, they allowed it to happen. I didn't feel safe and moved out but didn't know what to do next so I didn't end my contract with the store. However, by November 2022, the store added additional locks to the showcase to make it more difficult to break in so I moved back and restarted my business. In early February this year, after two thieves stole two diamond rings from my showcase at a different store in North Dallas while the clerk was showing them my jewelry (recorded in the camera), I was concerned about the security of my jewelry in Frisco Mercantile also so I communicated with Ms. Westemeyer immediately in person and in length and was very clear with her to let her staff know to keep my showcase doors closed after taking out the piece that the shopper was interested in to prevent the same kind of thefts happening again. She assured me that she would personally take each of her staff to my showcase and train them to do that. However, the next day in my security camera I saw one of her staff left my showcase doors completely wide open to the shoppers. The same staff unlocked my showcase three times that day to three different groups of shoppers. All three times the doors were left completely open to the shoppers, the staff stepped back and most of the time she was not even paying attention but looking at her phone. I am not accusing any trustworthy shoppers stealing but after so many painful experiences I learned that thieves were out there and it needed to have a process in practice to keep my jewelry secured. I showed the videos to Ms. Westemeyer about the bleach but she never at once acknowledged that it's not acceptable. I moved out again soon after because I realized the additional locks didn't make my jewelry more secured from the potential thieves if the staff left my showcase doors wide open and not paying any attention. Therefore, this was the turning point for me to move out for good so I asked the manager Linda Westemeyer to return my one-month deposit that I paid when I signed the contract in 2014 but she refused. I felt I was just robbed again!!! read more

Love the layout and look of this "mall". It is also impressive when you first step foot in the place, as they obviously put their best foot forward. It was a bit reminiscentof walking in the door of Nebraska Furniture Mart by where they have Chip and Joanna's Magnolia Home section. That is also though where the being taken in by the place ends for me though, as it does not seem to stop in the mall. It seemed to me like several vendors selling basically the same things over and over with a few breaking that mold here and there. This place has unique items. Like home decor, homemade crafts, antiques, clothing and all kinds of vintage items. The store is huge and includes lots of different vendors selling new and used items. It will take you more than few hours just to look through everything in the store. If you're in a hurry forget it. You'll definitely miss out some pretty cool stuff. When looking for "ZT Records", I'm probably not the only one who thought this was supposed to be an actual record store. It's actually a little walled off enclave inside the Frisco Mercantile building/store. When you walk in, it's in the back right of the building, past the sweater that says "What happens at Nana's, stays at Nana's". Youl'll need to maneuver around many "white hairs" and the beaten down family they drug with them on your way back to the records. Warning: you will also struggle to maintain you're cool indie/vinyl/hipster sense of self while walking through the store on your way to the "record store" hidden inside. You might want to be sure to wear your vintage Misfits shirt and Doc Martens as a force field and let everyone there know that you aren't there for the cool sign that says "Live, Laugh, Love". When the smell of potpourri starts getting a little fainter and you start hearing some music that is not Engleberd Humperdink, that means you're getting close. Once there, you will find some leftover RSD goodies, a very confusing stack of vintage audio equipment, and just a few racks of vinyl - new and used. A very tiny collection, and not worth a special trip unless you're just really bored and/or live within 10 minutes. They did have a section entitled "Interesting Stuff", so if you're looking for a copy of an Arnold Schwarzenegger workout album or a 12" single of the 1985 Chicago Bears "Super Bowl Shuffle", this place might be right up your alley. read more

It's okay. My wife likes the place but she never really buys anything because it's all the same stuff. They do have cool furniture like some nice wooden tables I would think would be a nice addition to our place. They do have guy stuff. Old tools, nostalgic guy items, beard oils and old shaving kits etc. I was interested while walking around finding cool things but nothing I absolutely had to have. There was cool locker system I thought would be neat for the garage I could keep my ammo in there different calibers for different lockers. They have nice things that maybe if you're looking for something to surprise your wife this is the place to go. It seems trendy and hipster but that's pretty much everywhere in Frisco.
