I love hobby lobby!! They have so many "things" for crafters and for those that want to be a crafter for a day! Items are always discounted and sometimes even more then the usual 30% - 50%. What a bargain! I usually check on Sunday for their specials for the week. They are closed on Sunday to allow for employees to enjoy family time! What a wonderful practice. I always enjoy seeing what kind of seasonal decor Hobby Lobby has in stock. There is usually a fun supply of metal signage and other outdoor decorations that I like to put up around my front door or in my flower beds. They also usually have items from a previous holiday available on clearance sale. For example, some Easter items are 70% off! The prices for most of their items seem reasonable. I do miss the little 40% coupon that used to be found in the Sunday newspaper. This ended several years ago. They do have sales on various items and departments, so check their app or website to see what is currently available at a discounted price. read more

Hobby Lobby does tend to have a lot of seasonal products I just wished they had employees especially managers who are willing to help customers. My most recent experience was I needed someone to help cut down a scarecrow. I can only assume that the woman who I asked to help was either the manager or assistant manager as all she was doing was standing around. So when I asked for her to cut the scarecrow down she told me just a minute and then went to work on putting empty bags on an unused cash register area. Now I am also assuming that bags are not as important as customer service but obviously this manager thought different. Poor service! read more

The only time I visit HL is when I can't find what I'm looking for at other art and crafts stores. The items at HL always seem very dated to me and a bit on the pricier side. Don't ever go during your lunch hour/break...there always seems to be only 2 registers open and a 20 min wait to check out. My two star rating is based on the wait to check out and mainly due to the staff. Sadly I've encountered some really rude personal during most of my visits to this specific location. read more

Went to the Grapevine store earlier this week and witnessed a very disturbing event. A manager cussed out another employee at the front of the store in front of customers and other employees. The employee was left near tears after this "conversation." I reached out to corporate about this incident and am posting here as well in hopes that this manager gets retrained or disciplined. For a company that espouses christian values I find it deplorable that managers are allowed to treat employees this way especially in front of customers. read more

First time being to this location and this store was very very well organized and easy to navigate. The store was very clean and no trash in the isle. Everything was color coordinated and by season. If there was a discount there was large printed papers that were easy to read and find out what the discounted price would be. The cashier was very polite and fast along with efficient. They have Coca-Cola signage, signage for just about every American car make, as well as other miscellaneous brands. If you're looking for seasonal decor they have a bunch of that too. This is by far my favorite Hobby Lobby. Forgive me, but I never saw myself as the crafts type until I walked in. It's ART and DECOR and SEASONAL treasures. Discovered that my passion was framing large specialty vintage posters from Ebay and they make it so easy. 50% off frames every other week and a spectacular variety of framing supplies. I enjoy the friendly, accommodating and welcoming staff. Yes they are not overly staffed but this store is perfectly well organized which invites you to relax and buy things that other stores sell, but at much lower prices. Like tape, Christmas supplies and really nice glass-work. Much appreciated is the variety of art-deco and art-nouveau items. And I did not spy a single kitten calendar! Parking is abundant and the air conditioning blows cold here! (I am going to buy my nieces feather boas even though they are older now because they have such a festive variety) They also offer an Android and IOS application you can download that automatically gives you 40% off of one item for every visit. That is in ADDITION to the weekly specials! Finally - I love a Christian based and family owned organization that does not discriminate and respects everyone's personal preferences. read more

My wife brought in an heirloom mirror (authentic, not a lightweight mirror) to be reframed. Technical difficulties meant that we got the mirror back pretty late, which was fine. We were told the phones don't always get the call through, so we didn't receive a call on the mirror, so we called after a month of waiting and were told it was sitting ready, and had been for several weeks. However when we picked it up and unwrapped it at home, it did not have the hanging wire attached on the back. We called back to ask why, and we were told that the weight of the mirror prevented them from installing it because the weight limit was 40 lbs. We weighed the mirror at home - including the new frame it is 31 lbs. We brought it back to have the wire added, but it took at least ten minutes to be helped or acknowledged at the frame service desk, and then had to re-explain the situation to the same worker we were on the phone with the same morning. We have had positive experiences with this Hobby Lobby, and even in the frames department in years' past, but the compounding difficulties this summer have been really disappointing. read more

However they do their pricing like Kohls: where everything is overpriced but then nearly everything is on sale. So inevitably there's that one thing you want but it's not on sale so you have to either wait or completely overpay for it. Also, they have not embraced technology. The clerks have to manually punch in item codes which can take a while and also results in you getting a really generic receipt. read more

I never been here . but before my accident that left me blind I would pass by all the time . Wait I have been here, the accident causes temporary amnesia. I shoped at the Preston location many times. I was a model maker. I enjoyed handcrafted balsa wood airplanes. I made many from the items at this store. Ironically it was the glue I used that was too close to my scented vanilla cookie candle that caused the explosion and chemical fire that left me blind. The short term memory is due to all the time spent exposed to the toxic glue. I'm not bitter. I'm actually grateful to be alive. The only bummer is living alone and not knowing if my clothes matched . I've been told that I'm a colorful person. But I think it's more about my handicap of mixing colors without seeing them. read more

Against my better judgement and years-long boycott, I'm at this miserable establishment. I've been here for 45 minutes to get one thing. I have asked 5 different people for a specific item. Each person was like "No I don't know anything about that" and kept on walking. The last person (second interaction with this dude) said "this guy might know". "This Guy" said "no but Larry might" and walked off. I don't know Larry. I guess I could've walked around the store shouting "HAS ANYBODY SEEN LARRY?" or perhaps put up missing Larry posters around the store... I ended up finding the SINGLE item I needed in the pine derby aisle after 45 bewildered minutes. If anyone finds "This Guy" or "Intensively Pushing a Dust Broom Around So I Don't Have To Actually Work Guy", throw a Joel Osteen book at them. They're up front by the registers. Their selection of crafts, specialized decor (Star Wars, Ford, Chevy, etc) make it a go-to spot for fixing up that ManCave. It's not all fru-fru here. Store staff were helpful and friendly in helping us find a few things. How they know where everything is makes it a mystery to me. The staff at this location is wonderful; so friendly and accommodating. I needed to return some items that I purchased in Louisiana that were not available in their store. The cashier did not hesitate and allowed me to return all my items. Hobby Lobby on Preston and Beltline flat out refused and treated me like I was worthless for suggesting such a thing (even though I had my receipt). This store proves that everything really is bigger in Texas. I've been frequently this location quite a few times this past week to collect some materials for some DIY wedding crafts. Thankfully, there's been a 40% off coupon that I've been able to use for everything, which allows their prices to be very reasonable. If you have a smartphone, you can check for this coupon on their website and they only need you to show it to them so you don't have to go through the hassle of printing it out. I will have to echo Brandi's review. When Hobby Lobby has sales, you can score really good deals. 40%, 50% seems not a rare thing at Hobby Lobby. Selection is pretty large, although they carry much more than just arts and crafts (like outdoor goods, random housewares, almost like a Garden Ridge). I think it's pretty obvious that this is a Christian store or at least Christian owned. There are Christian-themed things all over the store, and it's closed on Sunday. Being a Christian myself this isn't a problem at all, except for the fact that they pipe in some crappy Christian music over their PA system. 1-star DEMERIT! read more

It's a craft lover's paradise! Whenever I can't find a particular item at another craft store, Hobby Lobby will usually carry it. It is a bit pricier than their competitor, but they will accept a mobile coupon from your phone (look for their 40% off a single, regular priced item). I do like their wider selection of merchandise. Just yesterday, I wandered in to look at project boards and was tickled that they carried them in an array of different colors! If getting card stock, wait for their 50% off card stock sales. They usually run those quite often. If you like to bake gifts for friends, I'd recommend stopping in here. I kind of view Hobby Lobby as an unwanted necessity. I like to do crafts so I sometimes need to actually go into the store to find what I need. I hate that Hobby Lobby's aisles aren't marked and unless you live there or are lucky enough to locate a store associate, you have to walk aimlessly up and down to find what you need. This was my first time to this particular location and it was all but impossible to find someone to direct me where to go. When I did find someone they were pretty put off by having to help me. I got a similar reception at the check out counter. I completely understand being miserable about working at Hobby Lobby especially around the holidays but it's your job so at least make an attempt at being courteous! read more

Shopping here is quite the pain for me. I don't go here very often, but sometimes the 40% off coupon draws me to grab a couple of items for my design classes. The fact that they don't label their aisles is incredibly troublesome. This problem is compounded by the fact that store personnel are nearly impossible to find, and the few times I HAVE managed to find somebody to help me, they neither seem very eager to help nor very able to. I've on a few occasions been led around by a meandering employee who seemed pretty unsure about where anything was. Shopping here always seems unnecessarily drawn out and difficult. I love me some Hobby Lobby. I am like an addict, and I keep coming back from more. Hobby Lobby gets a stupid amount of my hard earned money. I think overall their selection is good, their prices are decent, and the staff is usually pleasant. I've run into a couple of less than happy employees, but I'd say the ratio is about 85% helpful/nice employees and 15% grumpy/not helpful employees. The best thing is you can find some killer deals while Hobby Lobby is having sales, which is pretty much all the time. So, if the item you want isn't on sale that week, wait a week or two and it probably will be on sale. Hobby Lobby has something that appeals to pretty much everybody! I will say one of the biggest bummers is the fact they are closed on Sunday. I always forget and then I get irritated when I drive out there and they're closed. I am a huge fan of Hobby Lobby-I love everything in there. I am an artist and I like to craft personal projects and I rely on them for my marketing by way of tissue papers, bags, stamps, ink and little decorative items that help market my dog bow ties and jewelry. The staff has always been very nice. When I first moved to DFW, I brought Howie in (he is a retired service dog) and absolutely zero issues. The manager was warm and welcoming. We loved that. I bought some amazing fabric on clearance that I am hoarding and still can't get over how beautiful it is-fabric I found online for way more per yard than I paid with my awesome deal of the year. I am obsessed with their fringe, Pom Pom, tassels trim-super high quality and totally worth the extra money per yard. I also respect that they are closed on Sundays.
