I always enjoy seeing what kind of seasonal decor Hobby Lobby has in stock. There is usually a fun supply of metal signage and other outdoor decorations that I like to put up around my front door or in my flower beds. They also usually have items from a previous holiday available on clearance sale. For example, some Easter items are 70% off! The prices for most of their items seem reasonable. I do miss the little 40% coupon that used to be found in the Sunday newspaper. This ended several years ago. They do have sales on various items and departments, so check their app or website to see what is currently available at a discounted price.

The only time I visit HL is when I can't find what I'm looking for at other art and crafts stores. The items at HL always seem very dated to me and a bit on the pricier side. Don't ever go during your lunch hour/break...there always seems to be only 2 registers open and a 20 min wait to check out. My two star rating is based on the wait to check out and mainly due to the staff. Sadly I've encountered some really rude personal during most of my visits to this specific location.

Victoria Principal would probably shop at this very store.

This is by far my favorite Hobby Lobby. Forgive me, but I never saw myself as the crafts type until I walked in. It's ART and DECOR and SEASONAL treasures. Discovered that my passion was framing large specialty vintage posters from Ebay and they make it so easy. 50% off frames every other week and a spectacular variety of framing supplies. I enjoy the friendly, accommodating and welcoming staff. Yes they are not overly staffed but this store is perfectly well organized which invites you to relax and buy things that other stores sell, but at much lower prices. Like tape, Christmas supplies and really nice glass-work. Much appreciated is the variety of art-deco and art-nouveau items. And I did not spy a single kitten calendar! Parking is abundant and the air conditioning blows cold here! (I am going to buy my nieces feather boas even though they are older now because they have such a festive variety) They also offer an Android and IOS application you can download that automatically gives you 40% off of one item for every visit. That is in ADDITION to the weekly specials! Finally - I love a Christian based and family owned organization that does not discriminate and respects everyone's personal preferences.

My 9 year old grandson wasn't too excited to go but once he stepped inside and saw a shark tooth, he was all over it! Even hubby was so impressed and glad he tagged along. My granddaughters found so many pretty things but I limited everyone to two items each. The girls each wanted a shell ring and a turtle jewelry pendant. HUGE selection of jewelry making supplies, including stone, jewels, metal findings, etc. and so many beautifully polished rocks and stone pieces and crystals. The prices seemed very reasonable. After we took the grandkids to the Perot museum last summer and they loved the huge rock displays, my oldest granddaughter wanted a rock tumbler for her birthday. We did fulfill that wish and even helped her tumble a couple of sets of rocks over the month long process. I brought our results with us to the store. I asked the young lady at the counter about what might have happened. The kind older man behind the counter walked by and asked so nicely if he might step in to help. He explained that rocks have different levels of hardness and we could probably get best results by tumbling all like rocks at a time. Makes perfect sense! I was just so impressed at how kind (to us and to each other) and helpful everyone was. I think it was a father (owner perhaps?) and daughter working together and the working relationship was beautiful to experience. Everyone had a great experience at Rock Barrell and can't wait to return!

I just completed my first-ever drawing classes with artist and art educator, Tina Cauller. One word: phenomenal. It is hard to find beginning drawing classes for adults in the Dallas area, and I couldn't find many reviews of Tina's classes before joining. Now, having completed the course, I wonder if the few prior reviewers had even turned up to class?! I loved her traditional teaching format, which incrementally built lessons on subjects that drawing students have studied for centuries. The excellent and thorough technical instruction, along with a relaxed and supportive art practice environment, gave me time for trial and error. The amount of growth in every student in the class from first to final class was outstanding. Tina has extensive experience and translates it into interesting, engaging, and supportive learning-to-draw lessons, making me believe I can draw anything I set out to. So satisfying and highly recommended. If you have been looking for a beginning drawing class, treat yourself, and don't wait!

My experience here was with 8 girls from my daughters volleyball team along with the parents; we had food for the kids, and the parents of course had their own adult beverages to keep us occupied. We picked our signs well before the party and when we showed up the hosts explained to the girls how to select their stain and decorate their signs however they wanted. I love the freedom the girls had to roam and explore one anothers paintings; they were able to compare, collaborate and laugh. The staff did a fantastic job of keeping the girls focused enough to create beautiful signs, all the while having a great time to talk and mingle with one another. The place is clean and you are greeted with a smile when you walk in. The attitude from start to finish is positive and happy. You could spend time walking through the shop and reading the beautiful signs to get inspiration to create your own version. I will be organizing a neighborhood event and bringing them here, I think we would have a blast working with this place to provide a first stop for a party bus. This place would also be great for team building as you have the space and atmosphere for fun and positive thinking. Overall, this place is great for large or small groups and you leave with a beautiful piece of art you created yourself. Bravo to the owners of Design & Mine for creating a wonderful place to create fun art and memories.
