My Tiguan's issue was with certain dashboard lights coming on, and the engine sputtering and stalling upon acceleration. The referral mechanic fixed it, and within a couple months, the issue started off and on again. It was frustrating. I almost returned to the referral mechanic, but decided I wanted the issue fixed once and for all. Boy, am I glad I did! I called Reno Buggie Barn and made an appointment to drop off the vehicle. Dropped it off and the next morning, Spencer called me to explain the issue and gave me an estimate. I gave him the go ahead and the repair was completed that afternoon. When I picked up the Tiguan, Spencer had the parts he had replaced, and explained the repair to me. WOW, imagine that, a mechanic that explains the repair work to you! Spencer also gave me estimates for other work that the Tiguan needed down the line. Needless to say, I am grateful to have found Reno Buggie Barn for my Tiguan. The Tiguan has never run better, and I no longer have to worry about whether the issue will occur again. I can now plan for the needed future repair, as well. I have found THE mechanic for my Tiguan! In an industry where it would have been incredibly easy to "play games" or simply point to the fact that the warranty period had long since passed, Folbeck did the exact opposite. Instead of making excuses, they stood behind their reputation. They took the vehicle in immediately and performed all the necessary corrective work completely free of charge. Not only was the craftsmanship excellent this time around, but they also handled it in a very timely manner, getting me back on the road with minimal downtime. Took my vehicle in to have a lift kit installed and 9 months later I started to hear a noise when…read moremaking sharp turns. I got an oil change and looked underneath when on the rack and found both sway bar end links had popped off at the bottom end. Took pictures and found out they didn't match the sway bar end links that came with HRG Offroad 2 in lift kit that Folbeck had ordered. Took it in to Folbeck and Mitchell looked underneath and verified that indeed the sway bar end links had not been replaced with the new ones. The excuse was that HRG probably didn't send the end links with the kit. I pointed out that on the HRG website it shows a picture of all the parts included in the package and if they didn't send them then they should have informed HRG. It also states on the website specifically DO NOT USE OEM SWAY BAR END LINKS WITH THE LIFT KIT. I pointed this out to Mitchell also. He said he would order the new end links and put them on. The problem I have is there was no apology for not paying attention to detail for job they performed. There really is no excuse for not making sure you have all the correct parts AND following the instructions given by the manufacturer. There is no confidence on my part that the rest of the job was done correctly. To be fair, both Mitchell and Donny were very cordial and corrected the issue with no charge. But never admitted that they screwed up, thus no apology. Also to be fair. I took in my Ford F150 to have a leveling kit installed and they did a great job.

Their prices are incredibly fair and they're not going to talk you into stuff you don't need. I went to another place in town that told me I needed $1500 in maintenance and then when I asked again two months later, someone at the same shop told me I needed $400 in routine maintenance. I came here for an oil change and told them that if they noticed anything they thought needed a tune up - I was game as I was about to make a big cross country trip. They came back and said everything looked great. I ran through the list from the first quote I had and they eased my mind. They let me know that they thought all of that was unnecessary and didn't make sense given the past maintenance and state of the vehicle. It was so nice to feel like I was dealing with honest humans. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for routine or necessary maintenance!
