RDR Roofing provided excellent service and I would highly recommend them for the reasons described below.
1. Communication and Responsiveness: RDR Roofing is family-run by Jose Rico, his brothers Christian and Carlos, and his father Jose Sr. When I was collecting bids for replacing the tile underlayment on four investment properties, Jose was among the first to respond. He sent me the satellite report showing the exact sizing of each roof, answered all my questions promptly and thoroughly, and provided pictures of each job at different stages of the process. It never took him more than an hour to respond to any call or text I sent him before or during the work on the roofs.
2. Quality Workmanship and Competitive Pricing: Among the bids I received, RDR Roofing was at or near the lowest for each house. They also provided free painting of all fascia and overhang wood they replaced, including matching and purchasing the paint themselves. Other contractors I received bids from either wouldn't paint at all, required the owner to supply the paint, or charged extra for painting. Additionally, RDR Roofing was the only contractor I received bids from that included the replacement of plywood/fascia boards in their original bid, whereas other contractors had various per-board pricing that left the final price a customer would pay unclear, but certainly higher than their original bid.
RDR Roofing performed the work diligently and on time, arriving exactly when they said they would and (on most of the houses) finishing the work within the time frame they estimated. Each day, the crews thoroughly cleaned up after themselves, including running sweeps with large magnets to pick up stray nails and fasteners. On each house, the roofs were well-done, and RDR even corrected a few errors (e.g., flashing) made by the builders when the roofs were originally constructed. RDR even fixed a sidewalk issue for me using some of their concrete patch material, truly exceptional work and service all around.
3. Honesty and Professionalism: On three of the four houses, the work was performed by the crews (working full days in 106-degree heat) as expected with little or no rework aside from small cosmetic issues that they quickly corrected after the final walkthrough. On one house, the crew accidentally damaged a satellite dish and forgot to clean up some debris that fell into the pool before leaving. However, I believe strongly that a key test of a good contractor is how they handle their mistakes and stand behind their work.
In this case, Jose and his brother were back at the house within 30 minutes of being alerted to the dish and pool issue, working after-hours to remove the debris. They also covered the full cost of repairing the satellite dish, as well as buying the tenant lunch as an apology for the time the dish was out of service. I have no doubt that they will likewise stand behind their warranty should any issues with any of the roofs arise in the future. read more
