After a severe storm, I noticed shingles in my yard and called Tempel Roofing to inspect based on the favorable Yelp reviews. I had a positive experience from the beginning of the process to the completed job and cannot say enough good things about Nate who we worked with throughout the process. Nate was very professional and knowledgeable and I was confident moving forward each step along the way. After inspection of my roof, it was determined that the whole roof would need to be replaced. Nate walked me through the entire process of what to expect dealing with the insurance company and was my liaison making the process incredibly easy. Nate was very responsive and able to answer all of my questions. The install went very smoothly and the crew did a great job and completed the project shortly after insurance approval. I coordinated with Yousef on the actual install who did a great job of communicating timeline of the job, delivery of materials, and clean up of the job site. roof installed 2021-22?. realty right with the inside company in my behalf. they got it payed for. it was a long process but they got it done. In 2024 tiles blow off... I had a very hard time getting them to return my calls... I finally got frustrated... and had another company fix this tiles.(at my expense) literally the day after, I finally got a call... was told they would send someone out... Wells later they did. the other company told me they didn't do a good job installing the roofing... that the rules would come up like when you flip a sheet. Tempel's representative disputed this. (and didn't repay me for the cost of the other companies work). July 2026... several tiles have come loose (like a sheet when you flip it). I have tried to get tempel to contact me, but.... no contact yet. it's so frustrating. so take it for what it's worth... the initial work was ok... but the follow up is not good. I'll update this rating if/when the issue is rectified. read more

We had wind damage before my mother passed away April 28th of 2023. It's been almost a year, so I'm not too familiar with the names. However, one of their guys showed up the day after the storm. We were glad to see him. He promised he could get the entire roof replaced for the price of the deductible. I was in disbelief, but after talking to him for a while began to believe it was true. He said the only drawback was that it could take longer to get the new roof approved by the insurance company. Finally, my ailing mother agreed to let them do the job. I had to constantly reassure her everything would be okay, as I had talked her into giving Tempel a chance to follow through with their promise. We signed a contract with them for the whole roof, and they claimed to have gone to work to get my insurance company to accept that proposal. The agreement was that, if me and my mother backed out of the deal, we would have to pay a penalty of 20% of the cost of the entire roof. I believe that was the agreement. At any rate, I think it was 20%, and my mother was terrified that their service would be so bad that we would be forced to back out of the deal and get penalized for that money. Months passed. Time rolled by, and we began to wonder if the job was ever going to get done. Meanwhile, Alex Lowen, who sold us on the plan went to work for another roofing company saying that the owner of Tempel Roofing was a greedy, unscrupulous owner. I think he went to work for Cal Roofing or some similar named company, and I think his name was Alex. At any rate, so much time passed that the wind blew off the tarp that another company had tacked on the roof before we had decided to contract Tempel. You'd think that if it was going to take nine months to get the job approved that they would at least be willing to place new tarp on the roof to protect the roof while we waited, but that's not what happened. I had to pay Alex, who said he was opening his own company, $300 out of pocket to have a new tarp put up, and he only did half the job. After a couple more months of waiting, the other half of the tarp was beginning to blow off, too. The kicker is that Ryan wouldn't give me a receipt for the second half-tarp that was put up. He wanted cash, and so I was pressured to give him cash and not ask for a receipt, I guess, so he could avoid paying taxes on the undocumented income he received. Well, nine or ten months had rolled by and, finally, I got a letter from State Farm saying they had sent inspectors out twice and they were not going to approve the job for the entire roof. Thus, they insisted all that could be done was to patch up the existing roof. Bear in mind this roof was a roof put up after a hailstorm during the Obama Administration (in 2011, I believe), and the wind had already damaged it twice. So, this was the third time the same roof needed to be repaired in a little more than ten years. Now, I'm not sure how long roofs are supposed to last, but it seems to me that my dying mother and I were taken advantage of. To make a long story short, I called Tempel Roofing and their agent, Brenda Ochoa, told me they were breaking their contract with me and my mother and that they had agreed with State Farm to merely patch up the existing roof instead of replacing the entire roof as we had all agreed upon in writing. We had a contract, and I still have that contract in a file here at home. I also have images of the contract and will post them on this website if allowed to do so. On another sad note, after they illegally broke our contract with me and my mother, one of their staff threatened to send the case to a collection agency if we didn't pay the bill on time. I know it's hard to believe for some people, but there are truly bad people in this world. Interestingly, if we'd have broken our end of the agreement, we would have paid a penalty of 20% of the cost of the entire roof to terminate early but, since it was Tempel, they simply broke the deal off without any penalty to themselves. This is why consumers need protection. In the end, they patched up the roof. State Farm only paid about $1,200 of the total cost which was over $3,000. Worst of all, my mother passed away (the absolute worst of it) while Tempel was screwing us out of the roof, and I never could get the checks cashed that State Farm sent to pay their portion of the roof. You see, the checks were made out to my mother who had passed away. Thus, I lost about $1,200 in the deal and not to mention was left with a faulty roof that will most certainly need more repairs. Whenever there's a storm outside, I wonder when more of the roof will blow away. Of course, my mother doesn't have to worry about this anymore. Millie passed away in April of last year. She worked till she was 87 to leave me something. I miss her so much. We were promised a $20,000 dollar roof for the price of the deductible (about $1,200) but ended up with $3,000 in bills and a bad roof. read more

I only received calls from a number, unidentified, not identified from Tempel roofing and calls came in after my latest voice mail messages and emails demanding my return payment. No calls before that!! Continued excuses. Ryan claims he was out of town for majority of the year and his people weren't monitoring company messages. I don't like being lied to... Have not received my payment back from Tempel as of 2/22. Said check would be going out yesterday. We will see as I have no reason to be optimistic. read more

We had wind damage to our roof and we called Tempel roofing to come out and look. Found out that our shingles were discontinued and so the only option was to replace the roof. Tempel roofing helped us from the initial filing and took us all the way through the process. Even providing documentation when the insurance pushed back on the claim. When we finally got it processed we were able to start and they were above and beyond in their work. Very professional crew and extremely efficient. I just want to thank the team at Tempel roofing for all the effort they put in to complete the job. I had a 13 year old roof with sustained wind/hail damage that I was able to file a claim through my insurance for replacement. Although the process took about 1-2 months from filing the claim to getting approved, they were involved in every step along the way and were in direct contact with my adjuster. Brenda would give me weekly status updates. Once the insurance finally approved, I picked my materials and was scheduled within a few days. It took the crew 2 days from start to finish and I am really satisfied with the results. I am glad and relieved it all worked out in the end. read more

Very unorganized and disrespectful company. Although Tempel Roofing expressed to me a lot of things about my insurance mishandling things at the beginning and throughout the process, I believe the mishandling ended up all coming from Tempel Roofing's side. The adjuster from my insurance came out a couple days after making the claim and not even a week later got back to me about paying to fully replace my roof, was very happy with my insurance and that part of things. From there Tempel Roofing didn't install my roof until 6 months later after handing them the first check that the insurance sent. Every excuse in the book you could imagine. Once finally getting to my roof, they took the solar panels off days before install and by no means stacked the panels neatly or professionally with care, with wires all over the place. I clearly asked for my satellite and swamp cooler to be removed when the install took place as they were not being used anymore and already disconnected. They weren't removed and the manager tried telling me after that it would now cost extra to have them removed, which was not the case when the salesman first knocked on my door, he said it wouldn't be a problem and all that I would owe is my deductible. About a month later they finally got back out to remove them and decided not to charge me, but left wires just hanging out of my roof withpatch jobs on my brand new roof. Materials were also left in my yard for weeks, I had to move them to the backyard because of my HOA, until they could get around to coming back and picking it up. And yup you guessed it, this company is impossible to get a hold of unless they are trying to collect money of course! read more

Awesome service! Ryan came out today to evaluate my roof after a recent monsoon storm. He was extremely knowledgeable about the insurance adjustment and claims process. He was friendly, personable and didn't utilize high pressure sales tactics like some those other companies. He climbed up on the roof, took some pictures and debriefed with me afterwards. This company had people knocking on doors soliciting storm damage/free roof inspections in Sun City and came across my mothers house. My mother answered the door for their sales pitch and was heckled into signing a contract by their rep before the insurance company even came out to assess the roof. She had a terrible experience with this company and we have definitely learned our lesson the hard way. In my endeavors of trying to help my mom through this situation, this company promised a lot and followed through with nothing but deceit and shadiness to say the least. From taking almost a full year to put her new roof on after paying the first check portion from her insurance to Tempel Roofing within the first month of signing the contract, only to have them start falsely blaming my insurance company for delays. Stating that the insurance did not pay enough for them to do the job and that my insurance needed to pay more or I would have to come out of pocket for any differences. Once they finally settled things with my insurance the roof actually came out nice from my eyes(im no roofer)but the communication was atrocious. Roofers just showed up one morning and started working, not a single person spoke english for us to ask any questions and I was unable to get a hold of their office staff the entire day of install. Luckily the roof seems to have been installed correctly and it was a hard working crew. Of course, I heard back from the office at their convenience, once they wanted their final check and to ask for referrals. Just happy to be done dealing with this company. Do your research for a reputable company and save yourself the headaches from this one. read more

Waited almost two years to see if the roofing job held up. It has. I was pleased with the workers, although only one spoke good english. They did a good job and fixed some bad spots that a previous roofer had incorrectly repaired, before I bought the house. Things I didn't like, were trying to upsell me on roof vents that weren't needed. They didn't measure venting that I had before recommending more. I measured myself and verified that I was above minimum requirements and declined the additional vents. Other item was a threatening letter from some legal office if I failed to make payment, before anything was due. I was being covered by insurance, so what was that for? They didn't even have their numbers right on the letter. Other item was their forgetting word of mouth agreements onsite during the work, such as number of water proof layers to avoid ice dams. We're in northern AZ. Over all I'm pleased with the roofing job, but will probably try someone else next time. read more

Beware Homeowners of what you are getting yourself into with this company. I will list simple facts about how this company operates for you to hopefully see this before you make the mistake of signing anything. 1) The contract Tempel Roofing uses is no ordinary contract, it is an assignment of benefits contract that will strip you as a homeowner of all rights to your own claim and money that will come with it, leaving all rights to Tempel Roofing to supplement and take as long as they would like before putting your roof on, and you will legally have no say in the matter after signing this contract.(Tempel has customers that have been waiting over a year for their roof to be put on after insurance paid for full replacement.) 2) Tempel roofing will rush to get a front end check from you, the next tactic in the process is to collect money fast to fulfill a 30% cancellation fee should you decide you dont like Tempel Roofings handling of your business and the final step into fully trapping you behind the assignment of benefits contract you signed. 3) In the supplementing process between Tempel and your insurance company, you will see that they are billing your insurance company twice the amount of full replacement paid by your insurance, sometimes 3 times the amount, even after insurance paid for a full replacement, and this can take quite some time of which you have no say in the matter. Not to mention the fraud committed in the supplements such as charging for a safety class for his roofing crews. 1. this does not take place and 2. there are no in house crews affiliated with Tempel Roofing, they are subcontracted crews. 4) Should you have any problems during the process and would like to reach out to the office, good luck. The office is a vacant rented room for mailing purposes, there is no one in office to greet you or a receptionist to take your calls. It is almost a guarantee that if you call the office number you will go straight to voicemail. The above is simple facts provided in hopes to inform homeowners, so that you can make an informed decision about the contractor you choose. There are plenty of roofing companies in the valley that will be truthful, helpful, and respectful throughout the process. read more

I can't express how wonderful this company is. My elderly mother called them to come out and look at her roof for due to some damage that she had noticed. Temple came out and evaluated her roof and determined that the roof needed to be replaced due to storm damage. My mom contacted her insurance company to put in a claim, I will not mention the insurance company by name but lets just say they were NOT a good neighbor, and of course they denied it. Temple went to bat for my mom. They hired independent adjustors, and had the shingles tested and sent all the result to the insurance company. They did not give up and finally, after more than a year got the insurance company to pay for the replacement! I appreciate the effort that they put in and the time. They could have moved on, but knew that my mom was on as fixed income and could not afford to replace the roof when the insurance company was obviously responsible. Tempel roofing was both the quickest to get out to our house and came in with the lowest cost estimate (and they didn't try to nickel and dime me after the work was done either). we have been dealing with this company for months now going on almost a full year. we were told things would work out. turns out they gave and still are giving us the runaround. my spouse doesn't want to cause a problem but myself i am totally disappointed in the service. they received the check from our insurance company for repairs. but as of today march 29 2024 nothing has been done. you receive the money then no answers to our calls and yet asked to put a sign in the yard to advertise. this is totally unacceptable. This is so unprofessional and I'm wondering what is going on. i do NOT recommend this company unless you like the runaround . they do not return calls in a timely manner but couldn't wait to cash the insurance check. i even called to speak to the head manager/owner but of course no call back instead referred to another office worker. again do NOT hire them. i will update if and when we hear back. but i will not hold my breath waiting. read more
