Good selection of trees. Staff on site is helpful. Staff for tree installation is hardworking. The downfall is the "warranty" on the trees. There really isn't one. I had issues with trees in which the PLASTIC "chains" broke as well as the wooden stakes that just split in half. I asked Cathleen (co-owner) if they could come out and re-stake the trees because of the broken stakes/chains. It had only been a few months since they were planted. I also sent her pictures of the broken stakes/chains and showed that the trees were now growing crooked since nothing was holding them in place. She was going to charge me $210 to replace THEIR broken chains/stakes on 2 trees. She claimed that the warranty didn't cover damage due to a storm. I asked what storm she was referring to and she replied, "It doesn't have to be a named storm, could be just bad weather, like heavy winds or rains." What? I told Cathleen I was disappointed, especially since it was well within the warranty period and the fact that I spent a LOT of money there. I had also referred other people there (which I won't do again). Her only response was, "If you'd like me to send you a copy of the warranty, I would be glad to do that. The warranty states that we don't cover weather situations." So keep this in mind if you think you're actually getting a warranty there! read more

If you are a rose lover, this is the place to go!! They have a HUGE selection of roses! All types. Hybrid Tea, Floribundas, Grandifloras! They also have a very large selection of other plants, trees, shrubs etc. All healthy and well cared for, and reasonably priced. Went here today at the strong recommendation from the new Houston's Garden line host Skip Richter. Clearly the man is paid to jabber on about how great the plants are at this nursery. Nothing could be further from the truth. Drove here from Mont Belvieu with expectations of getting everything we wanted for the herb garden and flower bed. A complete waste of time and fuel. What few herbs they had were half dead. The most interesting blooming annual was vinca. Don't bother coming here... Clearly Mr. Skippy's advice is not to trusted..... read more

Firstly Angel was so kind and helpful and we picked out a few plants. He has a wealth of knowledge and cam you all types of tricks and tips. The nursery has PLENTY of plants to pick from and is easy to navigate. They have great prices, and you should definitely check them out! After searching several local nurseries I finally found the 6-7 ft Peggy Martin on a trellis, a multicolored bougainvillea tree and a couple of fruit trees at this great nursery at 249 and the beltway. One year ago, rcw nurseries helped me pick and plant a tree in my backyard. I have very limited experience with landscaping. The team at rcw was wonderful to work with, answering my many questions and helping me decide the best fit for my yard. Rcw planted the tree and gave easy to understand care instructions. We walked the entire nursery & noone approved us to offer help. I went into the office & was told an area to look right next to the office for what I wanted...the woman (manager, owner?) couldn't be bothered to walk outside & show us the plant. I stopped in to speak with someone about a problem I'm having with something eating the leaves of my grape vines. Guys watering the plants said they didn't know about "things like that" and I needed to ask someone up front. I stood outside in front of the front office for 15 minutes with workers walking by, standing there visiting among themselves and going in and out of the office. They completely ignored me. The only effort they made was to make absolutely sure to NOT make any eye contact with me. Just game up and left. This nursery by far had the biggest selection of flowers and tress in the north Houston area. Their staff are also very helpful and knowledgeable. We were looking for a specific tree but were unable to find it. Their staff provided us with alternatives that had similar characteristics we were looking for. I was looking for a specific Holly tree as there are many different species. I found the selection, quality of trees and the service outstanding! I have been gardening forever and I have to say RCW is the best nursery I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I bought the tree and the tree planting kit for it. I was so impressed with the kit. Now I would not buy a tree or shrub without it. I highly recommend going to RCW nurseries for trees, scrubs, citrus plants and anything they carry. I went to RCW Nurseries looking for a crepe myrtle to plant in my front yard. I had gone to another nursery specializing in trees and they were not helpful at all. I had asked for a dwarf variety and the other place said they didn't offer it and that was that. No other suggestions and no other guidance was given. The complete opposite was true at RCW Nurseries. Martin came out and greeted us when we drove up and after asking a few questions on where we were planting it, sun exposure, closeness to the house, etc. he actually directed us to a better option - a bottle brush tree. By the way, they did have dwarf crepe myrtles but the bottle brush worked better in our space, thanks to Martin's guidance. In about 15 minutes we had discussed, decided upon and purchased our tree. Price was very reasonable and so was the planting and delivery fee. The service did not end there though... We were told the plant would be delivered & planted within 3 weeks. We had a call on Monday (we bought it Saturday) and the delivery and planting was scheduled for that Wednesday morning (less than a week!)! I was not home when it was planted but when I got home and inspected the work, it was extremely well done. Two thick wooden poles were used to anchor the plant, there were *no* signs that anyone had been there in terms of damage to the surrounding shrubs or mess left behind and the plant was even watered (they found my hose). I highly recommend the nursery, especially if you are considering a tree purchase. read more

We bought a few large sized trees from RCW last year. Kathleen was our sales person and she was very helpful. All large trees were guaranteed for a year. During the first year, we had some concerns about the growth of certain trees. We called and their rep, Patty came to check things out. Unfortunately, one of the red maple tree was not doing well. Patty came again and told us that this tree is dead and RCW will replace it for free. We went to RCW and Kathleen was there for us. She picked one good tree for us, called us to check it out. Now, all is done and they will plant it next week. No question asked! I recommend this location, without a question. David, Kathleen and other staff will take care of everything. Came in today and was very disappointed. Every single plant was dead dry. I touched all of them and the soil was hard dry like if they haven't been watered in days. I noticed that when they saw us they started watering a few of them. ( it was around 12:00 pm and extremely hot). Who stars watering plants around this time of day? I noticed lack of care for these poor plants. We decided to take our business somewhere else where there is love and care for the plants. read more

This place had a very nice selection of plants and trees. My husband and I were looking for some starter vegetables and ended up picking up a couple different plants. There was a cat napping by the plants as well as some friendly birds that could talk in another area. A man (owner?) In a hat with big feathers asked us if we needed any help. He was approachable, easy to talk to and knowledgeable, which is something that will keep me coming back. My favorite unexpected part was the section of air plants. Great nursery. A somewhat odd location between two interstates results in high road noise, but that's the only negative. Otherwise it's isolated location makes it an oasis! The layout is under several huge trees...nice breeze moves the lacy branches of well cared for plants... wind chimes gently ring...exotic birds chirp happily in their generous (and clean) aviaries...water fountains trickle...very relaxing to walk around and get inspirations. Al the plants are clearly labeled and in great shape. A few tastefully arranged nooks with benches, in addition to rows of plants. Great selection of ceramic and concrete planters. Personnel is friendly and helpful, but not pushy. Rustic shack in the back ('cashier') has cool garden décor. Prices are reasonable for the quality of plants. I was pleased to see minimal or no root bounding upon planting my plants. I will be back. read more
