It shares the building with other business including a CVS, and parking is shared with their lots or on the street. This is a light comic book shop with limited selection, to the point if they dropped comics from there name, I don't think anyone would notice. Handful of wall books and mostly modern books in their short boxes. Graphic novel selection was better than average with several shelves. Portal primarily focuses on gaming, with them having a large board gaming selection. Other gaming items are located around the shop, including various Warhammer items and paint for gaming items. Gaming space is located in the back of the shop, in a separate room from the merchandise. Overall, if you are looking for gaming items, The Portal should meet your needs. I would do my comic shopping at other shops in the Lehigh Valley, however.

They have been around for 20 years now, but they have really fallen since their prime years. What used to be a fun place with stocked shelves has turned into a skeleton of its former self. May empty shelves with little to no restock other than board games. Their D&D is almost nonexistent, their Warhammer barely there, and comics are laughable. They are always out of stock of MTG boxes so don't try unless you pre order. Seems like they only focus on selling on TCG. Even their webstore is empty, almost every item on their is listed as out of stock. Its actually depressing walking in there now. The employees are awkard and stare at you like you have three heads. I remember years ago there were 4 co-owners and there was always 1 or 2 of them there, I believe their names were Brian and Andy. They were always friendly and would often Join in for a game of MTG or Heroclix if no one else was around. There are now multiple shops around with better service and stock. I recommend skipping this store and trying one of the other Lehigh Valley Stores

When I made my initial purchase on 12/15 I got an email stating the my payment for my order failed and to try with a different payment method. The payment for that order in fact did not fail and I had made 2 purchases. I put in a cancellation request that same night and called on the 16th to ensure itd be rectified. 12/19 I emailed and called again unable to reach customer service. I left a voicemail and got no call back. Also on the 19th, I get 2 notices from my bank that 2 charges from retro vgames posted. Today 12/20 I finally get through to customer service just for them to tell me there's nothing they can do and both purchases have been shipped on the 16th, but I was never notified if my product had shipped. I log in to my account to see that they were shipped the 18th, not the 16th. The order should have never been shipped and the initial payment should have never been taken if they told me payment failed AND the cancellation request was put in prior to the offer being fulfilled. Customer service was very dismissive, had inaccurate information, and told me they couldn't see the cancellation request even though they read off of it.... So far poor experience, but I will update if product is received and will see if the order is accurate, products work/quality, and the return process is not a hassle/no cost to me.

I bought a PS3 Console with backwards compatibility at the end of June, recieved a Japanese PS3 from them. I informed customer service of the mistake and they did get back to me, but said that it fit the description because some Japanese consoles can play North American games. After some convincing they agreed to send me a new console after I shipped back the other PS3 and they could inspect it. After a week and a half they sent me another Japaense console that was not backwards compatible. I asked for an exchange again and the customer service representative I was emailing with said I would have to pay for shipping since I was returning another console. After a few emails I was finally granted a shipping label to send it back without any cost to me. After another week of waiting a package appears on my porch. They failed to send me the shipping information. When I opened the package it was a mess. Nothing was protecting the console. It was resting on top of paper. The PS3 was all scuffed up. It included 2 controllers (both broken) and 2 games. It was also the wrong model and would not play PS2 games. After emailing customer service again, they told me that they understood my frustration and would charge me a 10% restocking fee if I wanted to return the PS3. I am not "returning" a PS3 I would like to send you back (for a third time) a console that did not fit the description of what I ordered. I am done with this company, I want my money back. (This is still an ongoing issue btw).

As a video game store, is pretty impressive with a large stock and improved organization. A continuing issue remains that prices are not clearly marked on some items, but during this visit I found more items with prices than before. Rare items are kept behind the counter and one of the more interesting aspects of The Game Gallery is they get some odd items, so it's always worth a look. One of the big changes that occurred because of this move was the return of the arcade! The arcade is located in the back and is a mix of arcade cabinets, pinball machines, and Japanese style cabinets. This is also a quarter arcade, so no play card is needed. As of this review, the arcade however is a mess. During my visit, many of the arcade cabinets were not powered on or experiencing issues. If these machines were active, this would be one of the best arcades in the Lehigh Valley. Several of the pinball machines I attempted to play had issues, with others also not turned on. The Japanese style cabinets all appeared to be functional. The machines I did play, however, seemed to have difficulty levels set to high. The overall arcade was very disappointing despite so much potential. According to online reviews which staff have made comments on, due to electrical issues not all the machines can be turned on. You apparently can ask for the machines to be turned on, but this would require enough staffing, which this store has problems with. If there was signage in the store mentioning these electrical issues, I did not see it. If The Game Gallery had everything priced and the arcade fully working, it would be one the best video game stores and arcades in the Lehigh Valley. I can't see myself returning here again for some time, if at all, and I'm disappointed by my experience.

The focus of the store is cards and RPG - altho only about 20% of the footage is devoted to that. It has a large selection of comics and mags and comic merch - however it is all overpriced - you can dig and find some OK deals if you have hours to kill. As far as service there is ONE woman who works the front desk and had been the sole employee I saw until recently. She is polite and does best she can - the store seems understaffed big time. As far as value - if you want to buy comics for your PC sure - may find a couple - if you buy bulk or are looking for deals - its not here. $2 modern raw books is a big pass. I have not seen any deals or sales on anything when I have visited. Also when you have $100+ in books pulled to buy and wait for 3 cards people to stop talking to be rung up - its frustrating! Giving 2 stars - its not terrible but "could be better" definitely fits...your mileage may vary
