So far I'm going to rate this place 3 stars. I will update my review once I receive the product, but based on the ordering process and interaction with customer service I will not purchase from them again. When I made my initial purchase on 12/15 I got an email stating the my payment for my order failed and to try with a different payment method. The payment for that order in fact did not fail and I had made 2 purchases. I put in a cancellation request that same night and called on the 16th to ensure itd be rectified. 12/19 I emailed and called again unable to reach customer service. I left a voicemail and got no call back. Also on the 19th, I get 2 notices from my bank that 2 charges from retro vgames posted. Today 12/20 I finally get through to customer service just for them to tell me there's nothing they can do and both purchases have been shipped on the 16th, but I was never notified if my product had shipped. I log in to my account to see that they were shipped the 18th, not the 16th. The order should have never been shipped and the initial payment should have never been taken if they told me payment failed AND the cancellation request was put in prior to the offer being fulfilled. Customer service was very dismissive, had inaccurate information, and told me they couldn't see the cancellation request even though they read off of it.... So far poor experience, but I will update if product is received and will see if the order is accurate, products work/quality, and the return process is not a hassle/no cost to me. read more

UPDATE: THE SITUATION BECAME EVEN WORSE AFTER MY ORIGINAL REVIEW. My original review was written before I could even test the Xbox because Retro vGames shipped it without the required AC wall cord. After purchasing the missing cord myself, I discovered that the console was also defective. It failed its system update, would not properly load a game, and the disc tray repeatedly opened and closed by itself, sometimes only partially opening or becoming difficult to reopen. To summarize what I received: * A defective Xbox 360 that was advertised as professionally refurbished, "Tested & Working," and working "flawlessly" * A wired controller instead of the advertised wireless controller * An incomplete power supply with the required wall cord missing * A console I had to spend additional money on just to test and discover that it did not work properly Getting help was nearly as frustrating as the merchandise itself. I sent repeated emails, photographs, screenshots of their advertisement, and video evidence of the malfunction. I was passed around, given vague responses, promised follow-ups that did not arrive, and even told that they had attempted to call me but that my working telephone number appeared inactive--even though I received no missed call or voicemail. They initially pushed replacement merchandise, store credit, or a refund reduced by a 10% fee. Only after I repeatedly demanded a full refund, provided extensive documentation, and opened a formal dispute with my bank did they finally send a prepaid return label and promise the full amount after receiving the console. They then asked me to withdraw my bank dispute. I did not withdraw it. Golden 1 investigated the matter and issued me a permanent credit for the full $165.34. To be perfectly clear: my financial institution resolved this--not Retro vGames voluntarily refunding me before the dispute. I have returned the defective console using the company's label and have documented the contents, packaging, shipment, tracking, and delivery process. Retro vGames has now posted a polished public apology acknowledging that the required power cord was missing, the accessory did not match the advertisement, and the console had additional functionality issues. They also asked me to consider updating my review "based on how they handled the resolution." So here is my update: their public response sounds considerably better than the customer-service experience I actually received. A company should not need weeks of emails, photographs, videos, telephone calls, a formal bank dispute, and a public review before taking responsibility for merchandise that arrived incomplete, incorrectly fulfilled, and defective. I appreciate that they have finally acknowledged what happened, but that does not erase what it took to get here. My one-star rating remains unchanged. Customers deserve to know that the product delivered to me did not match the listing, did not function properly, and required a bank dispute to obtain a reliable financial resolution. read more

Buy from someone else. This company does not respect their customers or their merchandise. I bought a PS3 Console with backwards compatibility at the end of June, recieved a Japanese PS3 from them. I informed customer service of the mistake and they did get back to me, but said that it fit the description because some Japanese consoles can play North American games. After some convincing they agreed to send me a new console after I shipped back the other PS3 and they could inspect it. After a week and a half they sent me another Japaense console that was not backwards compatible. I asked for an exchange again and the customer service representative I was emailing with said I would have to pay for shipping since I was returning another console. After a few emails I was finally granted a shipping label to send it back without any cost to me. After another week of waiting a package appears on my porch. They failed to send me the shipping information. When I opened the package it was a mess. Nothing was protecting the console. It was resting on top of paper. The PS3 was all scuffed up. It included 2 controllers (both broken) and 2 games. It was also the wrong model and would not play PS2 games. After emailing customer service again, they told me that they understood my frustration and would charge me a 10% restocking fee if I wanted to return the PS3. I am not "returning" a PS3 I would like to send you back (for a third time) a console that did not fit the description of what I ordered. I am done with this company, I want my money back. (This is still an ongoing issue btw). read more

This company is TERRIBLE! They post fraudulent pics and send you knock off version of what you think you purchased. Customer service is terrible. No one ever answers the phone. I called 8 times and only got answer 1 time by someone who couldn't even speak English very well. Sounded like it was a call center in India somewhere. They dont carry what they advertise, they are more of a broker and they find other people who are selling what they advertise, they purchase that one and have it sent to you with out having even seen/tested/or touched the product before it get to you and that is even if its the product you ordered and not some knock off. Dishonest people like this should be in jail. read more

I ordered a Gameboy on their website. They have a "color preference" section to pick a color, but it doesn't actually mean you will get the color you selected. The website intentionally makes it look like you have the choice to pick the color, even though you don't. After ordering it, I didn't receive any shipping information. I picked clear purple as my "preference," but got a yellow one. When it arrived without notice that it had even been shipped, it was very poorly packaged. It should have been in a box (which they actually require if you want to return it), but it was in a bubble wrap folder. The package was shipped without the game I ordered with it. When I asked about this, they said they ship the game separately. Once again, I didn't receive any shipping information for the game either. When I inquired about returning, they stated that they have a 10% restocking fee. Their website however, says they "may" have this fee. They refuse to waive the fee. After the cost of shipping and restocking, it will be cheaper for me to sell it myself. I wish I had done a little more research when reviewing the company. If you need any more confirmation of their poor business practices, go to yelp or look up "retro vgames scam alert" on reddit . read more

This company takes your money and buys the cheapest product they can find off of eBay. They are a drop shipper. Joseph Goldberg(Customer Service) is a blatant liar. THIS IS A SCAM BUSINESS. LITERALLY EVERYTHING THEY SENT ME IS BROKEN. NOTHING WORKS. I CALLED AND EMAILED THE DAY AFTER RECEIVING ITEMS AND NO ONE GOT BACK TO ME. They finally emailed me 2 months later after my credit card company dispute went through and they are asking for a convoluted item return process for their broken junk: photos of each item before I send it back, I have to go get some specific type of shipping box, I have to send them photos of the receipt after it is shipped. This is a true nightmare business. BBB should shut this place down. read more

Do NOT buy anything from this company. The products they shipped were defective. Their customer service is non-existent. They are a SCAM to take your money. I called them immediately several times - NO answer and no response to me my messages. 4 weeks later they sent me an email saying "we apologize" we are having problems with our phone and emails system and "what can we do for you?". I emailed them several more times over the following 4 weeks. After finally getting information on their return / refund process and paying $40 to ship it back, getting the tracking signature of their employee and sending all the pictures and documentation that they requested - then they never responded to me again. In the end I lost $200 in the purchase of a defective product that was returned to them and paid another $40 to send it back. Retro vGAMES is aTERRIBLE company read more

Terrible, do not buy anything from them. First, I ordered a Wii bundle with Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort, and then I added on Mario Kart. They shipped me just the Wii, so I emailed them and told them I was missing items. No reply, then I finally got them on the phone, and they said they would send out my 3 missing games. Weeks later, after a few more emails, I received both Wii Sport games, but no Mario Kart. It has been 3 months now, and they still haven't sent me the third game I paid $50 for. Stay away from Retro vGames! The website gives you hope that you can purchase hard to find PS3 controllers, but when I ordered 2 of them, I instead received cheap Chinese copies that were nothing like the originals in the picture. I emailed them multiple times with my concerns and it was ignored. I initiated a dispute via my credit card and about 2 weeks later, Hafiz finally responded and claimed that the switch was a mistake. I don't believe it for a minute. He required that I send the controllers back even though they are not worth the price of shipping. Since he provided a prepaid shipping label, I packed them in the same flimsy padded envelope in which I received them, but I was very disappointed that their attempt to scam me resulted in so much of my time being wasted. I should have read more reviews about Retro vGames and I would have found many like this one. I hope this will help others to avoid my negative experience. read more

I ordered a Wii U console bundle from them 3 OEM Wii controllers and a third party Wii U controller. It takes almost a month to arrive. Guess my surprise and irritation when I opened the box to only find the Wii U console and game pad. The Wii U bundle was specifically supposed to come with cords. Then when I go to contact support about it, it takes them 10 days to respond to my help ticket. This place is 10x worse than Dkoladies. If I could give it 0 stars I would. I rarely review any companies, but with Retro Vgames, it's been a horrible experience. Charged mid range for the products I received, with extremely low quality return. If I could give this company ZERO stars, I would. My experience with Retro vGames has been nothing short of an absolute nightmare, and I am sharing this in hopes of preventing others from falling victim to their deceitful practices. I finally found and ordered Wii Sports Club for my autistic son - a game he cherishes and asked for as one of only two Christmas gifts. After searching extensively online, I found Retro vGames, which appeared reputable with a 4.6-star rating. Little did I know, I was about to be scammed out of $109 and put through the most frustrating customer service experience imaginable. The Scam Unfolds: The website promised 5-7 day shipping, but the package never arrived. Their chat system provided me with a fake tracking number, claiming the package would arrive on January 27th. On the 27th, USPS marked it as "delivered" - yet nothing was received. I contacted their horrendous customer service, and after struggling to understand a heavily-accented representative named "Harry Wilson" (clearly a fake alias), I was given a NEW tracking number that suddenly claimed the package was actually delivered on January 21st. Problem? I have security cameras monitoring all deliveries. There was no package on the 21st. No notifications from USPS. Nothing was delivered. No way of providing a review directly on their fake site - ALL FAKE 5 STAR RATINGS. Their Ridiculous "Resolution" Process - AKA More Scams I was instructed to file a USPS claim and provide a service request number #. Done. No response. I followed up, only to be told to now file a police report. I went through the trouble of filing a report at the police station and sent it to them. Their response? "We will reship and provide a new tracking number." Guess what? So far. No tracking number. No package. No refund. NOTHING. They also manipulate reviews! - Don't Trust Their Google Rating! 4.6 is BULLSHIT!! Retro vGames floods Google with fake 5-star reviews to appear trustworthy. A quick look at BBB, TrustPilot, and Yelp tells the REAL story - they have an "F" rating on BBB with dozens of complaints identical to mine. The Bottom Line: They lie about shipping. They provide fake tracking numbers. Website doesn't allow for customer reviews (red flag #1) They will run you in circles until you give up. They steal money from honest, special needs people. They crushed my son's excitement for his favorite game. STAY FAR AWAY FROM RETRO VGAMES! DO NOT RISK YOUR MONEY! If you've been scammed, dispute the charge IMMEDIATELY and report them to the BBB. They ONLY way to stop fake deceitful companies like this. Is to take the time to collectively inform each other and our contacting out state representatives. read more

Update 02.28.24: received the response from the "vendor owner" and it is a embarassing excuse for bad products and customer service. There is ZERO chance that this console was ever tested by Retrovgames. Both power cable and AV cable were broken irreparably and the console itself cannot even latch onto the game cartridges. Anyone with a brain cell, knows that the N64 was discontinued and that was the very reason I purchased this console for my Veteran husbands 40th birthday. A bit of nostalgia of our childhood. And now it has been tainted by this experience. RetroVGames and the blatant excuses your actions and representation of being a scam business (especially reputable platforms like TrustPilot and Yelp) will not work with me. Your response is not acceptable. Period Don't get me started on the fact that there is ZERO consistency of who is handling my grievance and the only people I have heard from in customer service are based in Asia. Not exactly PA based from what I can see. Received a broken N64 console. Completely broken from all levels. Bought it for my husbands birthday and he didn't plug it in for a few months as he was travelling and then when I complained it was outside of the 121 day return window and therefore they did nothing. Do not buy from this business. read more

had a really good experience shopping at Retro vGames! They have an amazing selection of classic games and consoles -- I found some old favorites I hadn't seen in years. The prices were fair, and my order arrived in great condition which was a huge relief when buying refurbished items. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the shipping took a little longer than expected. Also, I think their website could use a bit of an upgrade -- it's a little tricky to navigate when browsing through larger collections. read more

DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE The only reason they are getting 1 star is because zero stars isn't possible They sell defective units then will not help when asked. Dishonest to their very core. EDIT: Below the rep says they inspect the units before shipping. That is a LIE. My console wasn't shipped or returned to Retro V Games. Despite buying from Retro V Games my unit was shipped and returned to some rando in Kentucky. Retro V Games NEVER ONCE laid eyes on the unit, much less inspected it. They're lying when they say they have any sort of quality control, they don't. There is a reason this company has a sub 2 star rating. It's because they are so full of sh*t. I've never said this before but I sincerely hope this company fails. read more

STAY CLEAR! I found this store/site when searching for retro games to purchase. Once my order arrived, it was incomplete. Buy at your own risk! Horrible experience! After you pay for the item, they use that money to drop ship form an eBay listing. So they aren't testing the products themselves and don't know what is being sent. This will be why you get items shipped separately. They will try to send you the cheapest items they can find. I paid extra because it's a gaming store and thought they would test the items they were selling... they don't even know what they're selling....
