Big portions and quality you can taste! I first came in and was overwhelmed by all of the options. I told the women at the counter that I wanted an Eygptian falafel and a Greek salad but didn't want to order both items individually, as I would be ordering too much for myself. She said she could make it a special and my meal came out as much cheaper this way. I appreciated that. The seating was very limited and there is seating at the top of the restaurant, but the stairs are steep to get there. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with kids. I chose to sit downstairs by the window. The food came out at a reasonable time and was delicious! As an Italian, I'm very picky with my olive oil and I could really taste the quality of it on the Greek salad. Everything was definitely organic and fresh. The falafel was the best I've ever had. It was the first time the falafel balls tasted soft and moist, while being cooked, instead of being so fried that they were dry. They even had extra sauce at the counter so I could pile it on to my liking. I was so impressed with everything, that I know I'll be back. I can imagine that everything on the menu it great. For that, i have increased the stars on my review and will go back in to try the salad once more. I'm done with this place. This is a tiny tiny gem that has some great food. We stopped in for a bite before a movie at the Shattuck. It's a walk up, serving Mexican and Greek items. Just a couple itty bitty tables or one on the street. Water is funny, but so logical, as it is a filtered spigot attached to a post by the register... Loved it. The breakfast burrito was big enough for two, and full of great flavor. I would not go so far as to say this is the BEST food in the bay area. Got a little late coming to Berkeley so the boy picked me up some food from here - He got me the Shish Kebab Wrap from here with Chicken and this was unique yet very tasty. It looks like a burrito from the outside but once you bite in its definitely even better - especially if you are craving that middle eastern taste. I enjoyed the roasted veggies and the brown rice it came with as well as the well grilled chicken. I enjoyed the overall taste but just which there was some sauce on the side - maybe like a green sauce or something for some extra flavor and juiciness. I'm a regular here after discovering their amazing yet affordable wraps. The Jordanian wrap is my favorite! So good ! I always ask for extra chili sauce cuz I like shit spicy ! Bit watery for me, and felt my lamb could have had a deeper, more @lamb-y@ taste. Shame, because I was excited to come here. Too, my drink of Turkish coffee took a while to get out to me--& we beat the diners here too! I would have to try more of their menu, because obviously, this place jives with the majority. I am SO impressed by this gem! Burritos are a dime a dozen, but this place is special. You can taste the quality of each ingredient, and I love that they source organic produce and wild caught / grass-fed protein. The wild salmon burrito was exceptional-- a must get! I watched them cook a generous piece of fresh salmon right there on the grill and it was perfectly done-- not overcooked which is a small miracle, even at the nicest of restaurants. There were lots of choices for wraps, plates and burritos! I had the spinach melt burrito, which came with Spinach, Basil, Rice, Beans, Cheese and Salsa. It was pretty good considering it was a "healthy" burrito. The rice and beans were so soft and tasty and everything was nicely wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla. Also, it could use more salsa. I tried my friend's jordanian wrap, but it wasn't as good as the burrito. It kind of lacked some flavor and was lacking sauce. The prices were a bit on the pricey side considering the portion and taste but I guess they make up in quality of ingredients. read more

Good spot for a quick, quality lunch! They have an upstairs area with more seating, but it has very low ceilings and you have to walk right through their secondary kitchen (with a woman doing food prep - lots of chopped lettuce, a giant big of chickpeas, a trash bin smelling of old food) that was a few feet away from the restroom. On a Saturday at noon it pretty quiet there. There were plenty of people ordering takeout, but never a line at the counter. We all really liked our food as well! The wraps are really good. My only complaint is that they get drippy at the ends and don't stay wrapped up very well. INTERNATIONAL WRAPS * Wild Salmon Shish Kebab Wrap (wild salmon & roasted veggies, lentil rice, humus, tahini, & sumac. $12.95) - 4 stars My bf really enjoyed this, though it definitely had a lot of sauce for a wrap and was drippy. The ends didn't hold together well. * Jordanian Wrap (humus, falafel, tomato, onions, lettuce, chili sauce, tahini & cauliflower wrapped in lavash. $8.50) - 4 stars The falafel had great texture. I like that the wrap was lightly toasted. The chili sauce was light - it didn't taste spicy to me. Man! This placed used to be sooo good. Unfortunately as of this last visit their food is extremely different from what I remember it to be. I got the chicken plate, which I remember used to come with a delicious salad, rice, & tahini sauce. This time, it came with vegetables, brown rice, black beans & salsa which doesn't seem very Mediterranean to me, oh well. Came here for a low key dinner meal. There is a little bit of seating inside and outside but it seems most people come here to pick up takeout. They have a very expansive menu with everything from burritos to middle eastern food. I'm not really sure if anything is actually organic as the name might imply. I got the Jordanian wrap. It took a while to come out but that might also have just been my perception because I was pretty hungry. The wrap itself was good and tasted very fresh. The only thing was that it was pretty small for a $10 wrap. I wasn't hungry or anything afterwards but I don't think the value proposition of this place is great. Compared to the burritos, wraps, and sandwiches you get at all the other nearby places for the same cost it seems a little expensive. read more

Best food I have had in Berkeley so far with the nicest Jordanian couple running the restaurant. My friend and I got the Jordanian wrap and I have to say, it was the best wrap I have had in the US so far since I moved from the middle east! The Baklava is imported from Turkey and was delicious as well. P.S. Ask for their original spicy sauce! it was amazing with the sandwich. I've had the Chicken Plate twice and it over delivered both time. Great food and the owners are nice/friendly. The food is very clean.

Oct 25th at 9pm (0/5) I loved the chicken kabob plate the first time and then the second it was discussing. So much burned chicken and there wasn't very my chicken there. This plate should have been remade. The burned flakes came off on everything else and just ruined everything. read more

I have been coming to Razan's for years and my experiences have been great. However, I have noticed over the past few visits, not only have the prices gone up--which I understand, considering the cost of everything within 50 miles of the Bay Area has gone up--But, the quality of Razan's has gone down...I feel it is important to have photographic evidence, but unfortunately, I was so pissed and disappointed, that I chucked the "hot mess, called COOKED TO DEATH salmon in the trash. Again, I personally think the owners are nice, never had a problem with them or the peeps behind the food. But, this was the forth time, yes I said 4...because, I have enjoyed going to Razan's from day one, when I discovered it back in the day, when being vegan was cool and being a health nut was very important...still is! But honestly, salmon should not be crispy! and brown rice should have the consistency of oatmeal... All this being said, I hope that the owners of Razan's bring back the quality of fresh produce, remember that salmon should be flaky and succulent, not obliterated and that for returning customers, WE want the old Razan's Organic Kitchen...not the fast, tasteless, and overly cooked. I ordered a wild salmon shish kebab wrap and it was delicious! The salmon was tender, lemony, and flavorful and went well with the soft and pillowy tortilla and rice. Overall the ingredients tasted really fresh and high quality and melded well. The meal was satisfying and healthy but it was a bit on the pricey end for your average lunch. Razan's feels like it's been here forever. Not knowing the date of establishment I can attest that it looks not unlike those places I dined at as a Cal Bear: It's cheap-ish, the menu reads as healthy and natural, the place is crammed into a tiny storefront, and the huge variety of offerings seem designed to satisfy all those in your co-op. Notice I said "co-op", not dorm, sorority, or frat. I lived in a UCB co-op and Razan's food feels quite reminiscent of that right down to the way it's filling and ample without being entirely delicious. After perusing the huge wall-mounted menu until growing weary two of us settled on one Egyptian Wrap ($9.95; Falafel, Hummus, Tomato, Cuke, Lettuce, Tahini) and one Jordanian Wrap ($9.95; Hummus, Falafel, Tomato, Onions, Lettuce, Chili Sauce, Tahini, & Cauliflower). The menu feels like variations on a theme; I could barely discern, reading it, the differences between all of the offerings. The seating inside Razan's is tight teetering on the brink of uncomfortably so. Food came out quickly but inspired little oohing or aching. In fact, both wraps were left only half-consumed before remainders were packaged for later consumption. Neither was enticing enough to merit being polished off in one sitting. Oddly, both wraps benefited from spending the night in the refrigerator before being reheated in the microwave and I'm uncertain what this says about Razan's. There's a lot of dining options in this area, at all price points. Razan's offerings were a complete shoulder-shrug. That is, filling but neither delicious nor bad. These days I prefer my meals to satisfy my yummy-gene but for a lot of current co-op residents Razan's is probably good enough. read more
