Hands down, best NY style thin pizza I've had since moving to Arizona (over 9 years ago). The crust, sauce, cheese- all of it fantastic. A must try. The service was also phenomenal. The whole staff was incredibly pleasant and friendly. Very welcoming and cozy spot. read more

So their pizza is pretty good and their wings are ok but this lasagna I just had is quite mediocre. The cheese on top is so thick it's impossible to cut with your fork without smashing everything all over the place. The sauce just isn't quite there. It's a tad too sweet but not nearly as sweet as most places so could be worse. I just didn't quite like the flavor and the texture feels like they cooked it the other day and it sat in the fridge making the noodles all mushy so they just tossed some sauce on top and reheated it. I could be wrong but that's what it tastes like. I'll still be back though. The employees are very nice and I still like their other food. To be fair, I've never found a pizza place that makes good lasagna. read more

In the past I have overlooked the rude stuff the owner says bc food usually good. I've heard him complain loudly about anyone coming in an hour before closing. (Have heard him get off the phone and then say really mean stuff about customers. Real lack of professionalism but when your beard is so long it's practically dipping in the food I guess who cares right? Not really someone you want making your food.) Tonight came in 45 minutes before close and the attitude was obvious. Thought I could sit and eat a slice. Girl at register yells across restaurant after I order and sit down, are you getting this to go? We close in 40 minutes, making it clear that they just want you to leave. Have also listened to owner make nasty jokes about gay people. When I initially paid they practically threw the receipt at me. If you hate working late, close earlier, don't stay and complain the entire last hour you are there. Way overpriced. Clearly not good enough to make it in New York, but low quality does fine in Arizona. Classic Arizona. read more

This is a good rays in town. Went to others that were disgusting and made us sick. I always get the eggplant Parm, zucchini, mushrooms, and NY pizza. Tried the Sicilian today and it was perfect. Nothing overcooked or raw for that thickness. They know their pizza here. The chef does. Lose this person and you'll end up like the rest. I will make recommendation. Stop using canned mushrooms. read more

My three positives and a negative because the world needs more positivity: + local place with a super nice owner. He seemed to know half of the people who came in + when our order was messed up- the owner immediately made it right by making a medium pizza with mushroom and olives for hubby + the pizza was nice and thin. I like mine extra saucy so I asked for a side of marinara. Delicious that day and for the next two - the front help was not the brightest. We ordered fried mushrooms and got fried zucchini instead (which were yum). We ordered a large pizza with mushroom all over and then half sausage and half olives. Incredible. I have T been here in a little while (so many fantastic food opportunities in this Valley). Tried to get in to Uncle Sam's and it was packed. Came here, super busy, but I found room. The owner's are just incredible people -- making everyone (and especially me), feel like we stepped in to their home. All the employees are amazing but the two brothers are the best. Without fail, Ray's Pizza at 83rd Deer Valley continues to bring great service and food to my family. The pizza we ordered for lunch today (i.e., Large Pepperoni, Mushroom and Black Olives) was excellent! We live in Havasu Lake which is 3 hours from Rays Pizza but whenever in Peoria we go to Rays!! The Staff is incredibly friendly. The Pizza is delicious. The dough is fresh and drinks are refillable!! If you get a dinner salad be prepared to share its huge! The Dodgers are the real reason we visit but Rays Pizza keeps us coming back to Peoria!! No way this is NY style pizza. The kids wouldn't even eat it! Overcooked and no flavor. It's NYPD for me I guess!

My husband ordered a medium monster pizza with no onions on Super Bowl Sunday about an hour before the game. I thought we ordered too late, but Rays told us they could have our pizza ready in 45 minutes. They did! The pizza and wings were ready when I walked in 45 mins later and the staff while insanely busy was super friendly and courteous! When I got home I noticed the pizza had onions on. I called Rays, the manager immediately offered to make a new pizza without onions for us AND rush the order so we could still enjoy it in time for the game. I showed up just 10 minutes later and they were boxing up the remake. BUT the manager upgraded the pizza for free making it much larger. And the entire staff was very very nice the second time around as well. I am so impressed and humbled by this experience! This is how business should be done! read more

Tried another new place for our Friday night pizza. Rays was a good choice. The service was good. You order at the counter and they bring it to you when it's ready. It's one of the few places we've found that has fried mushrooms. They were good. We had one of the specials . Also very good. Just the right amount of toppings and a good crust.
