I placed a pick up order for my birthday pizza and a salad. I grabbed it on a weekday during lunch, so it was ready to go when I picked it up. When I got home, the box was completely full of greasy oil, so it was very unsatisfying. The pizza was quite soggy due to the oil, so I did not enjoy it, unfortunately. The salad was fine though.

We are big Grimaldi's fans, but haven't been able to visit a location in quite a while, as we always seem to show up during their oven stoking hours. That's basically a daily period where they clean their coal ovens and can't sell pizza. Womp womp. Not today though! We were seated quickly and given a seat right near the oven, so we got to watch the pizzas being whipped up. We started our meal with the strawberry spinach salad. It was really good and had a nice dressing on it. Decidedly the perfect salad for summer. For our pizza, we had the Brooklyn Bridge with extra cheese. Despite having visited Grimaldi's many times in the past, I had never tried this pizza. I loved it! I would consider the extra cheese to be imperative on any pizza here as they can be kind of skimpy on the cheese.

Hahahahaha..... what to say? So I literally have been driving all the way to the Scotsdale Grimaldi's, which truly is amazing! And I live way on the West Valley! Anyways, we went to Park West last night and My Friend said let's go to Grimaldi's. I said no way.!!! told her my experience! Told her I would meet her at The VIG.... She literally went to Veraldi's put her name in. They said it was a 45 to 50 minute wait. Then she said she literally requested to order a pizza. They told her it would be another 45 to 50 minutes after she sat down. I could not stop laughing.! I told her it's never a dull moment whether it's busy or not a lot going on over there at lunch. I told her to take a picture of how many people there were but she didn't take one. Grimaldi's makes amazing pizza.! But this location? It is truly HIIT and miss all day long.! the people? Hmmmm, I'll leave that open ended.

What makes Grimaldi's amazing? Delightful service and a killer coal fired crust. Try the Peach Sangria and the Peachy Spritzer. The beverages were so balanced and was a great way to start the meal. The Duo: 2 meats + 2 sauces = 4ntastic pizza!!! Pepperoni and char cup sausage (spicy and delicious) plus the pesto and red sauce. We also ordered a white pizza with extra garlic, ham and mushrooms. We had no room for dessert. Brad was a sweetheart. He was attentive and went above and beyond the call of duty.

Got this pizza delivered. Took quite a while but was still warm when it arrived. We got the white version and it was very good. Crust was a little burnt but overall good. Could've had a little more toppings on it. The fresh mozzarella was great.

Great pizza. Great Caesar salad. Great customer service and the waitresses love refilling the Diet Pepsi for you (or at least they make you believe they do bahahah). Even with my picky grandma, they stayed cool and squared us away. Will def return. Mahalo for good food and service.

The lunch special was $10.99 now. The pizza slice was not giant and wasn't that good here. The ceasar salad though was good with fresh pepper added. Bartender was ok, but didn't offer refill. Staff was too giggly and loud baby should be kicked out.

Great service, good drinks, fresh salad. New York atmosphere with an old style feel. Definitely always enjoy and worth the wait.

My husband and I had ordered takeout since it was a nice day outside and we located a seat in area in the middle section so we was able to enjoy our pizza with the beautiful weather. We placed our order via the Uber app, and our order was ready in less than an hour. The hostesses was very kind and friendly, and we were able to get a plate, napkins, Parmesan cheese and red peppers for her to go order as well with napkins. Overall, our pizza was very good. It is expensive so just a heads up on that and we're looking forward to coming to this location in the future as located in a park west plaza next to a lot of restaurants movie theaters shops, and more.

Dined 10.12.25: Great tasting pizza, not too bad of a wait for fresh baked pizza. I had the Tuscan veggie pizza w/ pesto vs red sauce & pepperoni, it was delicious! Had a basic house salad (large) & the dressing was tasty. Customer service was okay-they forgot to bring my aunts drink until her food arrived. Overall, pizza was yummy & I'd try it again!

Grimaldi's never disappoints. Their pizza and salads are always delicious. The staff is always friendly and makes sure our drinks are never empty. I'd been here several times since they opened years ago and always leave wanting to come back. The only reason I didn't give them a 5 star is because the decorations need some TLC. Two weeks ago we were there for lunch and the decorations looked very dusty.

The ambiance of the restaurant was overall really nice, it had this nice atmosphere and the music selection was on point. And the service was not where it should be. Thekey issue was that the restaurant was practically unoccupied and we still waited 40+ minutes for 2 pizzas. We sat 40 minutes waiting at the bar undisturbed before the moment we got our food were moved elsewhere only for the pizza to be not worth the 40+ minute wait. Genuinely disappointing experience.

Went to Grimaldi's on a Friday night. What a mob! Love the Grimaldi's salad and the pizza is great. Kind of a long wait for the pizza only because they're insanely busy. Impressively thin crust and a fun atmosphere.

Ask the Community - Grimaldi's Pizzeria

Is this restaurant kid friendly? I want to take my 3 year old here

Absolutely and if you ask usually they will give the kids dough to play with and they have the best pepperoni pizza ever and the house salad is amazing.

Do they take reservations for valentines day?

As far as I know they have a waitlist through Yelp! Not aware of reservations. The Scottsdale has responded to this question from another customer and they said "no reservations".

Do they have thin crust pizza?

    Yes

Do they have non dairy options?

Oscar, Thank you for reaching out! Unfortunately, we do not have any specific menu items that are…

Do they have gluten free pizza?

Yes, they do. I have never personally tried it, so can't say how good it tastes.

    What's best time?

There is an hour or more when their ovens are not fired up I think it's between three and four maybe up to close to five so you would want to check on that or you can't get pizza

Lil Capo Pizzeria 5.0/5 The Closest Thing to New York…read morePizza I've Found in Arizona Growing up in Upstate New York, I admittedly have high standards when it comes to pizza. After moving to Arizona in 2007, I've spent years searching for a slice that genuinely reminds me of home. While there are plenty of decent pizza spots throughout the Valley, very few capture that authentic New York style. Lil Capo Pizzeria absolutely does! Ironically, I first discovered Lil Capo after an Arizona Cardinals game. Like many people, I wasn't interested in paying stadium prices for mediocre food, so I jumped on Yelp looking for something nearby. Lil Capo had outstanding reviews, so we decided to give it a try. I'm glad we did because it's now my benchmark for New York-style pizza in Arizona. The first thing that stood out was the crust. This is exactly what a New York slice should be--thin, crispy on the bottom, slightly chewy inside, sturdy enough to fold, and never overloaded with grease. So many places think "New York style" simply means making a large slice. Lil Capo understands it's really about the balance of crust, sauce, cheese, and texture. Every bite reminded me why I miss pizza back east. The sauce has just the right amount of sweetness and acidity, the cheese is perfectly proportioned, and everything tastes fresh without trying to reinvent what already works. Sometimes simplicity executed well is the hardest thing to accomplish. Pizza: 5/5 Service was equally impressive. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and efficient. After selecting our slices, they quickly reheated them to perfection and had them on our table within minutes. It's exactly what you want from a neighborhood pizzeria--fast, relaxed, and genuinely hospitable. Service: 5/5 I also appreciated the atmosphere. Lil Capo isn't trying to be flashy or trendy. Instead, it has that classic neighborhood pizzeria feel where the focus stays exactly where it should--on making outstanding pizza. It's casual, comfortable, family-friendly, and somewhere you could easily become a regular. The pricing is another pleasant surprise. Considering the quality of the pizza and the generous slice sizes, I found everything to be very fairly priced. Overall Finding authentic New York-style pizza in Arizona has been surprisingly difficult over the years, but Lil Capo delivers exactly what I've been searching for. Authentic New York-style crust Excellent sauce-to-cheese ratio Minimal grease Friendly, efficient service Fair prices Comfortable neighborhood atmosphere I've eaten pizza throughout New York my entire life, and Lil Capo remains the closest I've found to the real thing anywhere in Arizona. Whenever I'm on the west side of the Valley--or heading to or from a Cardinals game--I find myself looking for an excuse to stop in. Next time, I'm skipping the slices and ordering an entire pie. If you're a fellow New Yorker living in Arizona and craving a slice that tastes like home, Lil Capo should be at the top of your list.

Tucked away in the Westgate Mall, it's a compact, modern little spot that likely gets buzzing during the lunch hour. It came with grilled ciabatta, arugula, shaved red onion, and a Calabrian vinaigrette. The burrata was incredibly creamy and paired perfectly with the tomatoes, while the crunchy ciabatta added a wonderful contrast in texture. My husband chose the Sicilian meatballs, which were served over creamy polenta with rustic marinara and grana padano, also a very solid dish. For our entrees, we had the hot honey & smoked prosciutto pizza and the strozzapreti, a pasta dish with herb-roasted chicken, mushroom, spinach, parmesan cream, truffle, and pine nuts). Both were fantastic! The pizza nailed that sweet and savory flavor profile, and the crust was absolutely perfect. The strozzapreti was also delicious -- rich, creamy, and packed with mushroom and truffle flavor. Last time we visited the North Italia Phoenix location, the pasta was a bit too soft and lacked that proper al dente bite, but this time it was cooked flawlessly. Unfortunately, the desserts were a letdown. We tried the hazelnut torta and the tiramisu, but both were overwhelmingly sweet. The tiramisu tasted soggy, like it had been sitting in the fridge for a long time instead of being freshly made, and the chocolate balls on top felt unnecessary and cheapened the dish. The service was also a bit of a mixed bag. Somehow our desserts were brought out before we had even finished our entrees. As a result, the ice cream on top of the hazelnut torta just sat there melting by the time we were ready for it. It made the end of the meal feel rushed, like they were trying to turn the table over quickly.
