Not only did the pizza travel and dish up well, we had so many happy customers. We sold out of pizza slices and called to see if they could pizza the next night for us too. 7-8 pizzas and we sold out again! Not a slice went to waste. They really went and above beyond and we look forward to working with them more over the course of our season.

One 12" Supreme ordered on-site to go. I ordered and took a seat along the wall to wait and immediately noticed the place was filthy. The corridor to the back door looked like a badly run day care. Half eaten plates of cold food and McDonald's bags were everywhere. Children were playing in a tray of pizza dough like it was modeling clay. Disgusting, but okay, let that one go. Pizza came and I hit the road home. Opening the box, the first thing I noticed were the large par-cooked wedges of colored peppers on top of the pie. Large wedges are great in antipasto, but not so great on my pie. And I love green peppers in a supreme pizza, but properly portioned and fully cooked. Hmmm? Interesting, I thought. Open my mind and give it a try. The next thing I noticed was that Gio's had failed to cut the pie. Hmmm, again. Never seen that before in a take-out pizza. Maybe that's just how they do it. I did not ask for it to be cut. Lift the pie out of the box onto my cutting board. The bottom of the box was soaking wet. Not greasy wet, water wet. Can't explain the physics of this one, but my disappointment was mounting and the product becoming increasingly suspect. These folks advertise "New York style crispy thin crust". Definitely not. Good crust, but nowhere near thin and crispy. Gotta give Gio's five stars on their pizza sauce. As good as it gets. Tossing the par cooked peppers, the pie was excellent for what it was with one picky exception. Their ham is portioned into small cubes, rather than a traditional thin slice. Looked like something from a Spam ad on TV. Well hey, I love Spam and am probably being too picky. Gio's? Not now, not again, not for me.

The pizza was cheesy and plenty of pepperoni. Prices are fare and they offer beer on tap as well as some seltzers. So ciders or sours here. Vibe is casual and comfortable. No pics this go round. Band was good, played covers and some really good guitar riffs happening. Waitress was wonderful and really nice. I didn't want to drink alcohol, and she had a bunch of non alcoholic beer choices so that was nice. My pizza and two non alcoholic Beck's came to $27. You just really can't beat the price. I also ended up siting with some nice guys, randomly both originally from NYC and that made the night fun. Who would think 3 New Yorkers ended up at table listening to a band in Anthem? It made me miss home... Karaoke got started after the band finished. If you're going to have someone representing your store, maybe pick someone who actually cares even a little bit. The lack of urgency, the attitude, and the overall indifference made an already bad situation even worse. It felt like my order just didn't matter at all. By the time the food finally showed up, I was already annoyed enough that it didn't even feel worth it anymore. Waiting that long just to deal with poor service is unacceptable. Do better. This kind of service is exactly how you lose customers.
