My experience with Rayne Water in Bakersfield has been extremely disappointing. Since the water softener was installed in October, the unit has not worked properly. It failed to drain as it should and eventually started producing green and yellow-tinted water throughout my home. There were multiple service attempts to fix the issue, but nothing was ever fully resolved. I was in contact with Sean, who admitted something might be wrong with the unit and scheduled a replacement -- but the technician showed up without all the necessary parts. After yet another failed attempt, I requested the unit be removed. Instead of honoring that and issuing a refund for a system that hasn't worked since day one, they denied the refund and continued showing up without the proper equipment. This has been a string of unkept promises, poor service, and no accountability. I would strongly caution anyone considering Rayne Water. I expected a functioning system and professional service -- I received neither. Very prompt. Andy gave all the information we asked. Very helpful with adding a line from the osmosis tank to the icemaker. That means one less filter to buy and replace. The installation guys were excellent. The old pipes were not helpful and needed replacement. They work longer to get it all working. Three months after installation, they called to check how everything was working. When I mentioned a minor question about the salt levels, they sent someone out the next day at no charge just to ensure everything was working properly. Six months later, when we had a small leak (unrelated to their work), I contacted Sean on a Saturday morning. I use Rayne to provide a soft-water filtering system, a de-chlorinator for the house, and reverse osmosis for our kitchen. The company has great customer service and very reasonable pricing. We have been extremely satisfied with not only the quality and taste of the water but also the great service. Very happy with my service from Rayne. They're always on time and professional. Everyone I've dealt with has been very pleasant and helpful.

I was cancelled after being told I was to hard to deal with and that the company was losing money with my account. This all came about due to a new driver entered my garage using my code that I didn't authorize them to give him. I had be called by the old driver every time he was coming to change the tank and I would let him in or give him the code as I had meet him and trusted him. Also was told when I was out of state on vacation they would postpone my service until I returned. The owner said they don't do that. I don't recommend anyone to use this service as they don't back there word and don't respect the owners wishes about being notified before they enter your property. They state they trust there employees and do a background investigation before hiring them and I guess that means I should let them enter my property any time without being notified. We called for information and they scheduled an appointment for that same week. They came out and gave us all the information with available options. We liked that Rayne Water did not try to sell us on what they thought we should purchase but rather gave us all their company had to offer with great information. We installed their soft-water filtering system and it has worked wonders on our water. Our hair feels amazing and no longer greasy every day. We also notice the difference in our dishes and our clothing from washes. They maintain service monthly without us having to do anything, highly recommend! read more

Rayne of Bakersfield runs fast and loose with code of ethics. I have had a very negative experience with the owner, Sean Moran. He installed a rental unit for my Mom many, many years ago. Upon her passing, it was decided to buy the 20+ year old rental unit for the $200 that Mr. Moran proposed. This, after his collection of over $4000 in rental fees over the years. No issue there. He "serviced" the unit upon the sale and I thought everything was fine. Within a month the bypass valve started leaking after extremely minimal use since the house was vacant. I thought it was only fair that Moran fix the leak at no additional charge. He disagreed since it was not leaking at the time of the sale and service. He became very angry when I disagreed with him and maintained that he didn't do any work for free (the $4000 over the years must have been imaginary!). Shortly thereafter, I learned from a competitor, with over 25 years experience locally, that as part of THEIR final servicing before selling a rental unit that they replace the tank resin. When I had asked Moran about this while the service was being performed he merely stated that the resin was still good. My mistake for accepting this. | also learned through the competitor, who I hired to install the unit at my residence, that the unit control head was in a state of failure and he recommended that I not use the unit without a new/newer control head and new resin. Through BBB correspondence with Rayne to seek a resolution. Rayne agreed to a refund but maintained that the unit was in new condition (20+ years = new?) and that the bypass valve leak must have been caused by me when disconnecting it. Wonderful. Even though it would be of normal consequence, when discontinuing rental service, to plumb a permanent copper "U" fitting, Moran steadfastly refused to perform this 10-15 minute procedure and also refused to pick up the unit. The behavior demonstrated by Moran regarding this matter has been pathetic. read more
