We were in town for the weekend and our 7yo grandson really needed a haircut. I had been following Raymond's on FB so before we drove to CA I called and made an appointment. We took him to his appointment with Kendall and his cut is so great! He really took his time seeing how our grandson's hair naturally lays and worked with that. We felt very comfortable with the laid back attitude of the shop, but total professionalism from the stylists. We watched the other patrons and all of them were getting great cuts and treatment. We will definitely tell our son and DIL to keep going to this shop and to ask for Kendall. Give them a try, you will not be disappointed! read more

If you're looking for an old school neighborhood barbershop, look no further. My haircuts by Javier and Eric are my time to relax and unwind. They give such attention to detail and really take their time to make sure your hair is lookin fresh and your experience was enjoyable. They even offer you beer while getting cleaned up. They are really doing business right and focusing on building relationships with each of their clients. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my haircuts. Thanks guys! read more

Lenny always gives a solid haircut, never disappoints the whole staff is a group of good guys! And their military stories are hilarious

If you stop by here, make sure you see Paul. I get my hair cut exclusively by him, simply because the man's work is as clean as it gets. The shop itself has a great vibe and there's always good conversation happening between everyone. Everybody at this shop is a talented barber, and will clean you up nicely! I'll always go here. read more

This barber shop is great! Really good group of guys working together and providing great service. My husband and I come in pretty often and Bobby and Paul have always done a fantastic job for a very fair price. I get a design in my undershave and my husband gets a clean up on his face and his shave. I wouldn't hesitate to say it's one of the best shops in Santee. read more

My son and I have both had our hair cut by Larry. He did a great job and we will definitely be going back!

If you're in santee this is the barbershop to go to. Eric and Javier always take care of me whenever I book an appointment.

Booked a cut here because of the convenience of it being down the road from me but if I moved I'd still make the drive. Lenny hooks it up every time I come in stop wasting your time at Supercuts and get a modern hair cut by a professional!!! Ask for Lenny my hard parts never looked this good been getting cuts for years but since I started coming here my wife can't take her eyes off me the minute I walk through that door. So trust me if your a young guy living through the struggle she won't even notice that air mattress in your room because she'll be too busy looking at that fresh cut! read more

This was my first time stepping out of my typical buzzcut routine and getting an actual style. I have a huge oval shaped head so I'm typically nervous about new styles. If they are cut too high it makes my head look like a watermelon. When I first got to the shop, I was the only one there besides the customers they were taking care of. I waited for about an hour, thinking these guys might just be really slow, but then I started to notice the detail they were putting in to their cuts, and it made more sense. My cut came off flawlessly. Bobby cut my hair and I will definitely be back for a trim in 30 days. I really didn't think the classic combover style would work for me but it did. The line he cut is exquisite. It looks like my hair was done by a laser. Thanks for the excellent work! read more

Tried the rest and now I've found the best. Sharp lines, up to date, friendly guy. See Eric

Just took my four year old here for a cut! Cesar gave him the best haircut he's had to date. Great vibe. Great people. We will definitely be back! Highly recommended and a million times better than any "kids" haircut places we've been! read more

Pretty disappointing. I have been going to a different barber for years and decided to venture outside of my box. Albeit, my timing to try this was horrible as I am getting married in less than 48 hours. Walk in cut was available and I arrived at about 10:45am. I was seated in a clean chair and the place was very nice! I was optimistic after seeing pictures online and excited to hopefully get a little style in my cut and shave compared to normal. I conveyed this to my barber and away we went. We discussed styling options, and a bit about my beard and agreed on a plan. About 2 hours later we are wrapped up. This did include a hot towel straight razor shave. Barber pulls out the mirror to show me his work and to be honest I had no way of even knowing as he presented the mirror to me with my hair completely messed up, and my beard not even combed straight. In shock I said great thinking maybe next was the question "can I get you some gel?" maybe "show you that style we talked about" nope. Thanks bud. Good luck with your wedding. $65 please. LOL. I still tip him accordingly and proceed home to get a better look at my cut. Well... spent about 20 minutes cleaning up all my edges on his straight razor cut as dude has no idea how to make a line. Small hairs loose everywhere, not even cleaned up under my beard. Brushed out my beard and yup... as I expected not even trimmed clean. Sorry, should not be advertising or giving straight razor beard trims if that's how you do them. Don't think I will be returning. Sad as it looked like a cool joint. read more

My hair hadn't been cut since well before the covid shutdown. Once things started opening up I was really happy that Eric was able to squeeze me in for a haircut. He had his work cut out for him! My hair looked like an old mop and I was starting to feel like one too. Eric cleaned me up really good and when I left I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders and things were starting to get back to normal. If you have never been to a real barbershop with old school atmosphere and friendly people I highly recommended you give them a call and set up an appointment. Thanks for the great Haircut Eric! read more

Five stars for Mike. He gives a great cut...true professional. My son and I have been getting our cuts from Mike since he was at Duckys. I am super picky about who cuts my hair (Mike is one of three in the past 15 years). I love being able to make reservations, which is a major upgrade from having to wait for 1 to 2 hours at Duckys. That said, I am not a huge fan of the new location but will follow Mike. read more

I Always come to this place. Ive had my hair cut by all the guys here. Always happy with the fresh cut! These guys take their time. So be prepared to wait for the cut. They are always packed But im happy every time. Got here early today.. In and out in an hour. read more

My new Boi/Barber Eric. Mc G over at RAYMONDS Barber Shop is Killing the Hair Game !!!! Example after Eric gave me what I asked for I felt like I wanted it a little shorter on the side, Eric said can't get out of the chair unless your extremely happy with The cut !!! Even after that he went out of his way to give me his card and said if you change your mind when you get home give me a call and I will fix it ... Nothing but love in Raymond's Barber Shop, just make sure to always make an Appt it's faster. Everything aside I vouche for them 100% read more

I should have read the reviews mentioned here about fades it took a very long time for my haircut to get done(40minutes) and my left side turned out higher than my right. I am never coming here again. read more

Been here 5 time this last time I left without getting my sons hair cut after waiting for and hour. I left because when I came in no one greeted me (that wasn't a big deal the big deal was that someone called and talked to his friend to make an appointment. The barber said yeah I'll take you next please bring me a water. When he hung up I said we have been waiting for you. He said oh well sorry I didn't know and I just made an appointment. I said even though I've been waiting. He said yeah sorry I didn't know (Maybe if you would have said hello how are you or interacted with me somehow I could have told you.) I did not want the new guy to cut my sons hair because last time we did not get what we asked for and since he is only two we cant sit still for a redo (and the last time I asked for the guy we waited for today but he said the new guy was just as good an to give him I try.... I should have waited but didn't want to be rude). The first haircut was by Javier for my son and it was great the second visit my husband came home with a chunk of hair missing on the back of his head he was upset because Javier didn't mention the mess up. And the third time was was good but I can't get that guy to cut my son hair even after waiting an hour. Not going back here again even though I live across the street. Sucks I really wanted to like them since my sons name is Raymond. read more

If you are looking for a fresh cut, look no further than Mike Soto up at Raymond's Barber Shop. He's the only barber that I'd go see and reason I found this shop. read more

I usually don't write such bad reviews for a business over one bad experience....but as a female with mixed race children, I feel compelled to write about my awful experience. First the shop was filthy. I watched our barber named Joe drop the comb, pick it back up, and re-use it on my son's head. The cape neck was dirty brown from multiple uses on other customers. On top of a crooked haircut, he knicked my son's ear with the clipper and made him bleed. What upset me the most was the appalling racist conversation coming from Joe. I was so uncomfortable being in this shop and having my mixed race children in here. I will never come back. read more

Raymond's Barber Shop Message to me from the owner and my response: Business Response - "Thank you again for trying to give us your business twice. I'm sorry, but I have to say that you actually gave us a good review. Because you mentioned a couple of things. Number one, our customers like to stop by even if not for a haircut. So we must be providing an atmosphere that is so warm and welcoming that our clients like to stop in even when not getting a haircut. Number two, you mentioned the air compressor. Meaning that our tools are always at a very clean level of professionalism. Number three, you mentioned that the haircut that I was providing to my client at the time, I was obviously very in tune to detail. Thank you again for your honest review. However, you must know that if you want to have a good Barber, you must be prepared to deal with a busy Barber." My Response - You missed the point completely and helped me to find the best shop in Santee. Thank you for proving my point about your business' lack of customer service to this day still and allowing me to find a legit group of respectable men. I highly recommend J's Great Cuts in Santee. I get the most reasonable cuts and shaves. Easily the best I have ever received. They will actually greet you every time you walk in and one time even chased after me in the parking lot to make accommodations for me as a walk in. I have even heard people walk in from Raymond's and Moose's asking people at J's to fix the haircut they recently received. Thank you again for proving ignorance is bliss at your business. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS PEOPLE. You can see their attention to detail in other reviews on the fades they do below. read more

Amateur hour. These guys can't grasp customer service, the shop is filthy, and it's an absolute revolving door of barbers due to the owners inability to hire anyone that can actually cut hair. I called ahead and reserved a 2:30pm appointment only to show up and find that they had given that time slot to someone else! His excuse was "you asked for a 2pm". Uh, no. Maybe if the knucklehead had actually written the appointment down, we could have salvaged the situation instead of all that bong resin coating his brain stem wreaking havoc on my schedule for the day. I am going to take the advice of some of the other reviewers on here and check out J's great cuts instead. read more

The worst haircut i've ever had. He did literally the exact opposite of what I asked. I may have been able to speak my mind before it was too late, but he faced me away from the mirror the whole time. I'm okay with imperfections, but this was an outrage. I asked for him to take length off the top and clean up the sides without shortening them significantly. I also specifically asked that he not use electric trimmers, and use scissors instead. First thing he did was use electric trimmers to shave the sides of my head. Dirt cheap haircut, I should've excepted dirt quality read more

The guys were very nice. The haircut Javier gave my son was ok. It did take about 40 minutes. The it took did not bother me. What did bother me is this shop is filthy. There is hair everywhere. Big turn off. Gross actually. I am not planning on returning. Sorry. Bad first impression. read more

This place is awesome! I had bad haircut, went to these guys for help to fix it and they did an awesome job! I am making this place my official Barber Shop. Staff is super friendly, and has a great atmosphere. Highly recommend this place to anyone! read more

Amazing barber shop. I felt very comfortable as I walked in the front door. Greeted right away and offered me an ice cold beer. This shop does appointments and walk-ins as well, it's nice that I'm able to schedule my haircuts instead of waiting like I used to at the old shop I went to. Joe always gives a clean cut and is a chill guy that always makes me feel welcome. Highly advise.

I've been a hairstylist for 15 years at a very reputable salon in Bankers Hill. However I take my sons to a BARBER.. Javier is a professional. My boys actually sit still while getting a cut that is on point. Javier and his father also have a shop in North Park. With decades of experience between the two of them you will not be sorry with your visit! read more

I've been getting my hair cut by Javier at the North Park shop for some time now. Now he's mostly at the new shop in Santee and it's worth the drive to keep him as my barber. Going to Raymond's is always a great experience and the new shop is no exception!! read more

So glad Santee finally has a solid barbershop with legit barbers who are dedicated to their craft! Raymond's Barber Shop is a lifesaver! I went to Raymond's barbershop after a local/new barbershop butchered my hair. After some friendly joking around and me apologizing for going to another barbershop, I was reassured that my hair can be salvaged. Raymond's barbershop fixed the uneven fade, trimmed the top of my hair and provided me with some moral support after the atrocious haircut I received. Lessoned learned. Best barbershop in Santee. read more
