My usual barber was out of town last time I needed a haircut, so I found this place. I was apprehensive, but I was off the mark. This place is solid. In-out with a quality haircut. So I returned today for another and I am just as pleased as the first time. My wife likes long hair, I like no to short hair. He nailed it right between. I am very happy! -Joe read more

The owner does a fair job. But don't count on him listening to any styling requests. He's never listened to mine. My reason for this review is the owner's fish tank is disgusting. It's completely full of algae. I asked him if that's normal. His responded affirmatively while laughing. I can't return to this barber just because of his lack of care for that aquarium. read more

Mr. V has been cutting my hair and my son's for years. Always does an excellent job. Fair prices and good conversation. I really recommend him. read more

I've been bringing my kid to Bob for a couple years now. I used to live in the rea , But I still manage to take my kid to him. I call him up for an appointment and he's available , which I like a lot. My kid's hair doesn't take all day and is very low maintenance I think. He also asks how we want it cut and what would look good or he'll make great suggestions. But usually we just get a line up and a trim. He also did a design one day, when my kid had asked him to. I heard he has been in business a long time , I hope and wish him many years! read more

Bob will FORVEVER be my barber. He gets my hair right EVERY SINGLE TIME. Caring, knowledgeable and has a great sense of what style suits his clients. Once I found him Ive never gone anywhere else. Bob is the best. read more

He gives great fade haircuts and the store is nicely decorated. His prices are also very affordable. Can't recommend enough! read more

He cuts good skin fades and works quickly. He uses good clippers and uses an electric razor for skin fades. His prices are good too.

It's a shame when a business like Mr. V's has only TWO reviews when they have so many satisfied customers. I know, my husband and I are both long time customers but even tho' we old, we do review...so if you come out this way, please take a moment to review. My husband no longer lets ANYONE touch his funky head of hair except Mr. V (pictured.) He is, like many old men, set in his ways and will not go anywhere else. If Mr. V is not there or the shop is closed, he'll wait til he's back in and just skip the cut that day. Mr. V also has a young kid working with him who looks to be training in the "Mr. V" style of barbering...what's that you say? It's the most thorough, detail oriented and complete haircut you've ever had. It doesn't matter if they have five people waiting, everyone gets the same attention to details and excellent customer service. And yes, I do get my old grandma spiky 'do done there because seriously dude, where could either of us go to get our hair done for less than $10??? Crazy...please give this shop a try and please leave a review so he will get the business he needs to stay alive!!! read more

Been going here for years, brothers and dad as well great service, great haircuts and great prices,

I used to drive from El Cajon to Point Loma for my haircut until one day my regular barber was to busy for more clients. So, I decided to try someone else which was the best thing I could have done. I fell upon this barber by accident threw Yelp and decided to give him a try. BOB aka V is great. Always does a great job on my hair and is a great barber that listens to how you want your haircut. I have had my haircut done here several times now and will continue too. Bob (V) is my new barber. read more

Bob's Barber Shop - Great place to get a shave or just a haircut. - Barbers Near Me - El Cajon, California

Solid. Consistent. My favorite barber in East County. There's another one nearby, but the results are both less consistent and more money. read more

Came here after a hack job down the street! AWESOME HAIRCUT!! Just the way I originally wanted it. I recommend this place to local military and youngsters who want a great Skin Fade... When you end up in a place like this for a 8 buck cut, mind you what your getting. If your interested in the most basics of basics then by all rights enter this customer friendly store. If you find yourself on a different side, either side of the center, find a new place to snap your bits into something fresher than shaving cream in the morning hour. (2 stars are for friendly faces) read more

I wanted to post another review to follow up on my earlier review to let everyone know how good a barber V is. Unfortunately, my wife received military orders taking us out of the area. I now live in Hayward California, and have not had a decent haircut in the 8 months since we left. If it wasn't an 8 hour drive to your shop, I would be back. Thank you for two years of great flat tops. I miss you V Shane read more

Negative stars .. One of the worst barber shop. The guy is very rude and dont even talk nicely until u sit on his chair(its a tactic for getting tips). He also advertises saying his cuts r 8$ per person. But after cut he always makes it 10$ plus saying multiple reasons like it was long, had to do lot of work, its thick all BS. I wouldnt prefer this to anyone. Make a choice do u need to do cutting with a money minded and rude person or u try somewhr else who truly r interested in making converations and give u nice feeling and environment for the same price. Its a shame to have these kind of people in this society.Very Bad,very disappointed. :( read more

Always get a fresh cut from Mr. V! From new jobs to my wedding he alway has me looking my best!

I have been to many different places to get my haircut. I've been to Supercuts, too expensive for mediocre haircuts. Other barber shops, wasn't ever impressed. As a man I feel like the best person to understand my thinning hair would be another man. Mr. V is that man. He gave me the first haircut in years where I was extremely impressed. The best thing was that it was a lot less than those fancy haircut places. He even recommend some product for my hair to help thicken it and make it less noticeable that my hair is thinning. I usually go during the daytime and never have to wait. I'm surprised he isn't more busy because he is an excellent barber. read more

I moved in to this city 2 years ago and have been going to Bob ever since today .he has done a really good job at being friendly and respectful for a good year and a half but this last 5 months I went (I go every 2 weeks ) he was rushy and did poorly on my hair only because their was a few more customers I think or he was just in a bad mood . I remember about a month ago I went in and waited for 3 guys to get haircuts . I don't have an issue with waiting , we all need our haircuts . my issue was that a random guy came in and Bob said he came earlier... and went ahead of me after I waited for 3 haircuts . so just because he came earlier that gives him the right to cut in front of me ? Now let me tell you people about what happened today I went in after a good 3 weeks this time . told him I want a taper fade with a medium amount of hair on top . he's given me that before plenty of times . but this time he tells me that it'll look bad with a nasty face . it obviously won't because he's done it many times how I wanted it . as a customer I should be able to get whatever I want even if the barber doesn't quite like the style . so he says it won't work and proceeds cutting my hair doing what he thinks it should look like . he starts off correctly but it slowly starts turning into a bowl cut . its too late now i said to myself I can't turn back now . so he says he's done and shows me the final product and its totally not what I wanted . so I said just give me a number 8 on top with a basic taper fade . he says sheesh and with an attitude he goes "now I gotta cut the hair all over again' and I'm thinking what the heck ? I told him what I wanted and he didn't want to do it and he messed up don't get rude with me . so he quickly and violently cut the top into a number 8 and I Gave him the ten dollars he wanted and ran out of his lousy shop. and all of this happened while some creepy guy was looking into my eyes which is something you don't do in el cajon or in any "hood" area . I also recall a time when a crack head was in there talking to me about space ships and that the FBI was outside looking for him and was gonna shoot him and he asked me for money and was bothering all the customers but what did Bob do ? Nothing he just ignored it while I was being harassed by someone on crack with bloody hands and finger nails. Bob was real friendly and actually cared about his customers personally at first but then he slowly got lazy and annoyed by any haircut that wasn't your basic number 1-8 haircut or buzz cut . this barbershop was good but I don't know what happened . and of course there are other reviews that are good because these people go in every month for a simple shave or haircut . Bob has no issue with that but if I want a more advanced hairstyle he has an issue ? I'm not angry , I'm just disappointed Off to find a new barber goodbye read more

V is the man ... Go here every week I think lol..Good place to get cut and he knows his stuff!

Bob is a cool dude. I've been coming here regularly ( once a week or when I'm too busy every other week ) since I discovered his shop back in 2014. Bob is a nice guy who does a great job giving me what I want, being a Taper Fade. It's convenient for me to come here cause it's on my way home from work, being readily accessible for me. I've already recommended my friends to him after they asked me where I get my hair done, and after checking him out, all of them were generally satisfied. I'd recommend you guys give him a try too if you haven't yet, you won't be disappointed read more
