Great and consistent barber shop. I've had my hair and beard trimmed by multiple barbers there and am always satisfied. Chill vibe inside, not stressful/rushed like many other shops. Eddie always gives a clean cut and checks in throughout to make sure it's what I'm going for. Definitely the spot to go if you're looking for a quality cut. read more

I stopped by first thing Monday morning in a rush to get cleaned up for my girl's birthday dinner. Eddie had just opened up and gladly took me in. When I say I've tried 20+ barbers in San Diego it's no joke. Every other spot either messed up my cut, gave me a bad vibe, or didn't even respond when I was ready for a return visit. I eventually gave up and just started wearing a hat. Eddie changed that. He got my hair looking better than anyone before clean, sharp, and exactly what I wanted. He's polite, professional, and knocked out an amazing skin fade with a design (including eyebrows) in no time so I could get on my way. On top of that, the vibe in the shop was perfect l great music playing, the interior is clean and stylish, and it just feels like a place you want to come back to. He's officially got himself a lifelong customer. If you're tired of searching for the right barber, trust me go see Eddie at Refined Barbershop. read more

This place is legit. Professional and cozy atmosphere staffed by friendly, attentive staff. Brought my son after scheduling same-day cut before his high school dance. He hopped right in, no issues with long wait. After a consult on how he wants to style/cut, Ray went to work. Loved that it's not a one size fits all, especially for a teenager with curly hair! I was offered a cold beverage or water while waiting. Alex got me into his chair and gave me a trim while I waited for the kiddo. Totally unexpected but thank you! We will be back! read more

I moved locations for my job and found a close barbershop that does not disappoint. Thank you Alex for a great hair cut and shave. I have sensitive skin and usually have some irritation after a straight shave but not this time. Alex took great care of me, even offered me a beer. The artwork, large tv to keep you entertained and general vibe of the shop is relaxing and comfortable. See you in a month. read more

Even before you step into Rodney's chair, you're going to sense confidence, experience, warmth and craftsmanship when you greet him. It's an experience unlike any other barbershop. Rodney has been my barber for the past 2 years and he has consistently delivered a high product - ensuring my haircuts exceed my expectations. He takes the time to listen and understand what you would like. And given his experience, he provides recommendations (when applicable) before he gets to work. His use of his tools (clippers, scissors, combs, etc.) are immaculate. He ensures that they are always operating at a high level and you can see maintaining them before and after every cut. His station is well organized and spotless. Is constantly ensuring that you feel comfortable every minute you're in his chair. But that's not all, he also takes time to know you and for the next 30 - 60 minutes, you feel like you're speaking with a good friend catching up. His level of customer experience is unlike any other barber I've experienced in the past 20+ years. If you're needing a barber who's confident, is experienced, is welcoming, and has top notch craftsmanship - go with Rodney. Tell him I recommended you. read more

Came here as a walk-in today and glad we did! It wasn't that busy, so it was Alex by himself and he took very well care of my 2 sons and I, within an hour. The vibe was very relaxing and peaceful inside! I highly recommend this barbershop. My sons haircuts are on point and the wife highly agrees. Hit them up asap and it's best to go during the week in the day time. Less traffic, equals faster haircuts! We will be going back here soon! If you want a great cut, just call and book your appointment or enjoy a nice walk-in during the day. Thank you again Refined Barbershop, we Love the fresh cuts! read more

They do excellent work, there are always many barbers to take walk-ins. The prices are good and the shop just got recently renovated so it looks great in there. read more

Another great haircut as always.. Interesting interaction this morning as I was receiving my haircut. I'm only mentioning this because it created an uncomfortable experience for myself and the owner, co-workers present and even that specific customers friend who brought them in as first timers. They were in a rush... I get it. But I remind myself my emergency isn't someone else's and if they are helping I'm grateful, period! The young fellow, 25yrs of age proceeded just speak with a high time of anger and yet still portray thankful words in his 'lingo'. I say lingo because he's a wrap artist. Ok cool you're an artist... but you then say you're a Christian wrap artist? I could tell the mood dropped immediately to a quiet atmosphere to not argue his nonsensical views and ignorance. I'm embarrassed I ever engaged in the conversation. Lessons learned: I apologize for accidentally fostering such a conversation If I'm in a rush remain grateful the business is open and helping you regardless. These barbers do a fine job worthy of me continuing to patronize them again and again. Lastly the term DUNNING-KRUGER EFFECT is exactly what was happening... Thanks again guys! read more

Absolutely beyond happy with our cuts! Been going to a franchise shop for a while but wanted to try a barbershop and find someone we can be loyal to. Called in and made appointments. While we stopped off to get cash the anxiety started to kick in. Always nervous about getting haircuts from new stylist. The two guys (Alex and Michael) were amazing. Both gave us the exact cuts we wanted. They offered us beer or water. We got an eyebrow trim. Neck shaves as well. We never got a price but when we were done.. only $25! Amazingly price for great cuts! We definitely will be back read more

awesome haircut by Johnny, chill vibe, listened to my request and executed perfectly! I'll be back, thank you

Had a great experience here at this barbershop. Whats up everybody! Yesterday, on Cinco De Mayo 2022 was my first time taking my son out to the barbershop with me and I didn't really know how it would go and was even a little iffy about trying it out, but I went for it anyway. Upon entrance: There were family friendly videos playing on the television and some dessert snacks for all to enjoy! My barber who's name I didn't catch, (first chair on the left) came over to me and my son as we sat and waited. He greeted my son and my son smiled. He then proceeded to speak about his family. A kind gesture indeed. During Haircut: To begin, my son Sir was calm and curious, enjoying the sounds of the buzzing of the clippers. Eventually Sir got a little antsy. The entire staff were extremely considerate and patient with us, and despite the movement and commotion delivered a stellar haircut! My barber took his time, and allowed for me to head to the rest room to get adjusted. Another barber who was extremely personable name Ray went and grabbed a water for my son at some point. My barber even offered to walk around with my son and get him some fresh air as we finished up the final process of getting my nose waxed, since I had to stay still and wait for the wax to dry. We always appreciate excellent service. Thank you always, -Gainzhr read more

Refined Barber Shop - Out grabbing food on sunny Cinco De Mayo after a stellar haircut! - Barbers Near Me - El Cajon, California

Probably the best experience I've had and continue to have! Genuinely nice, professional and courteous always. Because i typically walk in without an appointment im willing to wait and accept and respect the fact that other customers with or without an appointment have priority. My schedule isn't flexible so i can, and will, wait if needed or come back if its a couple hours if needed. For those who i see walk in and get frustrated due to the high demand of this establishments skills, make a damn appointment. If you walk in, be willing to wait... if you're not lookjng for their special skills, then you probably dont appreciate the hard work they do to run this business. Got another awesome cut today by Ray and happy to give him more than they ask! Again, play by the common sense rules in life... if not FU read more

I have been here 3 times. From the first cut to the recent one, which was today (6-23-23), All I can say is "Perfection"! My first cut was with Alex and I have stayed with him since then. I do not make it easy. I wait way too long between cuts, yet Alex, just as the first cut, does a fantastic job!!! Todays' cut was almost 7 months in the waiting! (and I like it short) Refined Barber shop is the ONLY place I will go. And as stated in my first review the rest of the men in there are no slouches. I have seen their work! From my perspective, there wasn't a bad cut in the house. They're Professionals! Just Flippin go.----Oh yeah, Alex turned the chair around and what do I see...Shakira. Had 1 cd, now I have 3 more coming. THX Alex. read more

It's a scary experience trying to find a barber when you're just visiting a town, but I took a chance with Refined Barbershop. I can honestly say that Alex gave me one of the best cuts I've had in a while and some seriously good beard care, which I only splurge on occasionally. Highly recommended!! when me and my father walked into the barber shop, they were giving us looks but it was a first time there and they were staring especially at my father who has tattoos, when my father was getting his haircut he gave exact details of what he wanted but the barber did not pay enough attention and messed up my fathers hair giving him a noticeable bald spot, over all I would not go. read more

Alex, my guy took me in as a walk in and had me lined up in no time. First visit and glad i finally found a permanent new barber. Great work

Found this place on Yelp. Decided to drop by and see if there were any walk-ins available. Thankfully, I went around 2:00pm and they were able to take me right away. Got one of the best haircuts I've ever had. Friendly staff. Free beverages. Got exactly the haircut I wanted. Rey was an awesome barber and was able to help me get the look I wanted. I did a skin fade on the sides, cut on top, line up, and had my beard shaped. I've added a photo. The picture on the left is from two days before my cut. Pictures on the right were immediately after I got home. $25. Cash only place, but they do have an ATM inside if you forget to bring cash. Awesome place. I highly recommend it. read more

I recently moved to El Cajon. I searched for a barbershop that could take care of me. When I first entered Refined I was greeted by a warm staff. Being my first time, with no appointment, I only waited 10 minutes! I got my hair cut by Michael, he asked me what I wanted and how I do my hair, and from there he worked his magic. He took his time and didn't rush. I was extremely happy with his service, and with that said I go here every 1-2 weeks to get my hair cut. If you are looking for a quality barbershop with some top notch barbers, this is the place. The atmosphere is always welcoming. No appointments are needed, but I always get one just so I can walk in and Michael is free. I give this shop a 5/5. Come see for yourself! - Robbie read more
