Well, I recently found my new barbershop. Raymond's barbershop in Santee has outstanding service, a classic ambience, reminiscent of 1970s and 80s barbershops and a skilled, diverse set of barbers that I would definitely trust my cut to. My barber, Nick Greenz, is one I've been with for a long time. Her attention to detail is evident based on the always clean lines and exacting precision she exercises when cutting my hair and beard. Nick is 100% focused on me, and on others I have watched as I've been waiting, when she cuts hair. You definitely get the full treatment at Raymond's! My favorite Gabel's Bay Rum aftershave, a hot towel, a hot shave, and I have always walk out feeling like a million bucks. Javier, Nick and all of the barbers are extremely nice and super chill to talk with. Additionally, they have a chessboard in the middle of the shop that you can enjoy a friendly game with your friends or another customer while you wait. I'm beyond impressed with Raymond. 2/21/23 - my male friend was looking for a hot shave and a haircut all at the same place. This place had very good reviews and met the criteria I found. Wide and open. Good amount of people in there. Open chess game going on when we entered and a hidden pool table area. My friend tried to call and no one picked up. He walked in and was greeted and there was no wait. Cool and funky style in there. Great shave and haircut by 2 different persons. Would suggest to go there if you are a male. Haircut was pricey, at $35 for a men's haircut and the hot shave was $30. They take just cash and Venmo. So I was trying to leave a review for Kendal on Booksy but it just wasn't happening so here I am to show my beautiful haircut on Yelp. If you have Asian hair, the man knows exactly how to take care of it. I had super long hair and I walked in desperate to get it chopped and texturized. I've been in this headspace before and have been disappointed numerous occasions but I usually just suck it up and let my hair do its thing again. I went there today to get my sons haircut. When we walked in, no one acknowledged us. We waited an hour and then I finally approached one of the barbers and asked if someone would be able to cut my sons hair. He said he had to take someone that had called on the phone first. But me and my son has been waiting for 30 minutes before the phone call even came in. I heard the whole exchange. They should have put our name down or something. How is it OK to take someone that called in when we had already been sitting for 30 minutes? Terrible customer service and bad vibes here. read more

They have a great looking place with a pool table in the back and other things to keep you from being bored while you wait. I took my brother here while he was in town for a work event. Javier was busy so Barkley took care of him. This was my brother's first time there. That was almost exactly my thought as I left your place of business. Second, I get that you're a local business, but don't give me the "trying to make it in a tough economy" speech... the economy is booming right now up in almost every measure. Lastly, you didn't refute anything in my review... you simply said how great your cuts are and how you go above and beyond for customers... then proceeded to say you don't want me and my ilk as customers.
