Norm is an artist. This was my second time there and both times were hand down the best haircuts I've ever had. The shave was the closest, smoothest shave I've ever had. This is my new weekly spot to look/feel better! read more

Kevin's Barbershop - Barbers Near Me - Lakeside, California

Wow--what an incredible experience. This barbershop truly sets the bar with its high standards and consistent service across the board. Edward was fantastic, and looking around, you can see excellence in every chair. Customers are happy, tipping well, and it's clear the team takes pride in their craft. Thank you for elevating barbering to a professional, almost college-level standard. The shop is spotless--tools are always cleaned, sanitized, and disinfected. The service is friendly and welcoming, with free parking, a comfortable waiting area, and convenient appointments for busy schedules. They even stand behind their work with a results guarantee, which says a lot. Great TV entertainment, a clean bathroom, and an ATM on-site make the experience even better. Highly recommended--this place is doing everything right. read more

Went in there around 5:30. They close at six. When I walked in. They started speaking in their language and Looking at me, which almost 90% of the time means that they were upset that I came in so close to closing time. But they say they take the last person at 5:45. I should've trusted my gut and just left. when they sat me down the Barber that attended me was like "WHAT DO YOU WANT BRO"? With attitude . I told him what I wanted and he did not follow what I said. He messed up my hair and I just ended up, telling him to buzz it off. Had a very heavy hand when cutting he even cut me and started bleeding. This was also on my Birthday and the haircut was to go out and feel good and definitely did not feel that at all. The whole time It just seemed like he was trying to rush me out of there. He was very rude. This is also not the first time I've seen him Give attitude to clients. read more

I have to admit I was nervous at first because I usually go somewhere else but they were closed. Kevin's was the next closest barbershop so I stopped in. New experiences are intimidating so I told Leo (my barber) to do what he felt was right. He was very accommodating and friendly, and not overbearing. I've never had a barbershop experience where they just treated you to the whole experience -- eyebrows, shaping, etc.! All included. I almost felt guilty how well I was being treated. The style was very different from what I get, but Leo knows his stuff! I've been getting LOTS of compliments about my new look. In this one experience, I've found my NEW go-to haircut place. I live in La Mesa, but WILL be making the trek to Lakeside for Kevin's Barbershop. Leo is a pro and he clearly values making sure that you look great. You can tell he takes great pride in his craft. I'm glad I didn't chicken out when I felt like not trying something new. read more

Been going to Kevin's since they've opened. The staff treats you like an old friend. I have my favorite barber, but have confidence enough to cut a cut from any of them if my favorite has too long of a wait. Great vibe with other customers cross talking and just a good place to get a cut. read more

They've been cutting my hair for years can't recommend them enough! Everyone is friendly and the joking and banter between The barbers is always funny! read more

Convenient, fast, and great Love coming here because I can go to any 3 of their barbers. My main guy I go to Norman, if he's backed up with clients waiting I either go to Edward or Kevin. They have a total of 4 or 5 barbers. A family barbershop, I bring my nephews here a lot as well. They are consistent with their schedule they open 9am every morning. read more

I have been coming here for hair cuts along with my two sons for approximately 10 years now. I wouldn't go anywhere else and the one or two times I've tried during traveling, I ended up shaving my head because it wasn't up to the standards provided by my barber, Edward he is the man! a.k.a. Edward Scissorhands. Yes they have grown and they are busy at times like a good restaurant... they are busy for a good reason. If you don't like waiting around, I strongly suggest making up an appointment for the extra five dollars if your time is worth it... Otherwise sit down and enjoy the experience of an old school barbershop with excellent service and great barbers. read more

I've been coming here for years, and I've never had a bad haircut. It took me a long time to find a barbershop that truly delivers, and this place is hands down the best. I don't understand how a place that I raved about over 5 years ago could now be a one star in my book. We've obviously been coming here for a long time but for the past several hair cuts they've come home looking like absolute goof balls. I thought that maybe someone else had cut their hair or my husband wasn't telling them accurately what needed to be done. So I took them myself last week. When the same barber who cut my sons hair preciously came over he asked me if my 4 year old had cut his own hair!!!!! I'm like nope! You did. That should have been my clue to get up and walk out and find someone else. But no. The owner cut my older kids hair and another guy cut my other son's. Upon leaving the shop their hair looked decent I thought. But when they took a shower and let their hair dry it looked TERRIBLE. In the past people have made comments like "did you try cutting their hair on their own?" Not a good sign. And now this? And we have family pics tomorrow. I posted on FB in a couple local community groups to see if this is normal and the overwhelming response was absolutely not. I would not recommend going here if you want a legit good haircut without having to style it to look decent. I found another barbershop nearby who were able to clean up their look and trusted to cut my 2 year olds hair. Here's a pic of my kids hair after getting their haircut at Kevin's. read more

I started getting my cut by Kevin a few haircuts back. I never new what I was going to come out looking like with the guy who had been cutting my hair always a crap shoot. Think I'm on my 4th haircut from Kevin and if I don't want to use a product on my hair I don't need it my hair lays well with or without which has always been a problem with my hair. He listens to what I want and does it and does it well and is consistent. I use his waxing service but have not had a shave yet that's nextime. read more

This place was great for the longest time. The barbers and haircuts are great. The problem is they are too popular now and for whatever reason it has become a kid haven where parents bring in their kids 2-3 at a time taking up most or all of the chairs pushing wait times into the stratosphere. The clientele is rough, like people you'd see in a scary east country bar. If you want a nice men's cut and relaxed experience, it's no longer the place to go. read more

Kevin has been my barber for over for about 23 years now. The first rule of finding a good barber is, once you've found them, don't change them. I've made this mistake many times before for convenience or whatever reason I decided to try another place; however, they never even come close to how well Kevin's barbershop quality is. It's a family owned business and you can expect consistency, which is extremely important when looking for a good place to choose to get a haircut. My hair style has changed throughout the years from when I was a teenager to now, and adult and Kevin has adapted throughout the process. Honestly, I can't think of anything better to say about him and his team, including Edward and the rest of the barbers that work there. I highly recommend this barbershop over any other to anyone. read more

Worth the drive from Spring Valley to Lakeside for this shop's service. My husband has been getting his haircut here for years! My husband and our 4 year old son both come here for their haircuts. They always do a great job here! They are nice and patient with our son and he always feels comfortable. The wait is never too long, we're always greeted when we walk in, pricing is good, and their hours of operation are generous. A couple of things to note: they offer a military discount, which is great, but it ONLY applies to the service member themselves. This is the first barbershop we've been to where the discount didn't extend to dependents, so just something to be aware of. Also, they do accept card payments, but there is a $1 fee added if you choose to use a card, so bring cash when you can. All in all, definitely our favorite barbershop here in San Diego! I always recommend it when people ask! read more

I have been taking my boys for years to see Kevin, and now occasionally Paul when he is busy, but I can attest that they really know what they are doing here!! I can honestly say that Kevin (and now Paul) really know their craft and give each of my boys amazing haircuts each and every time. My boys always leave with fresh haircuts and get compliments wherever they go!! If you are looking for an incredibly clean and family friendly place to take your kids for haircuts, I highly recommend you check them out!! read more

We took our three boys here today for the first time and were beyond happy with our experience! The shop is clean and inviting. Everyone working was friendly and professional and took the time to make sure they understood what we wanted. One of my boys is terrified of getting his haircut and Kevin was super kind and patient, taking extra time even on a busy Saturday to show him his tools and talk to him. All of the haircuts were literally the best they've had (we haven't been happy with 'kid hair salons') - the skill of the barbers here is top notch. Whether you're an adult or kid, check this place out the next time you need a fresh cut! read more

We wanted to get my almost 2yr old sons hair cut (only his second cut other than mom snipping here and there). We walked in on a Sunday with my husband, myself, our daughter and son. We were able to see Kevin, on his day off I believe, and he was great! We expected him to cry at first which he did, but he sat on dads lap, had a lollipop and 30 seconds in he was loving it. All was good! Kevin gave him THE cutest cut!! My son basically had a mullet before, and Kevin did a great job. He styled it perfectly at the end! I can't believe I even wasted money at a fancy kid haircut place in La Jolla for his first cut. We didn't like the way they did it. Kevin was very thorough, detailed and actually did it properly! We will only be coming here from now on! read more

Hands down the best barbershop is San Diego. I cannot say enough about these guys. Every single haircut, every single time, is amazing. Honestly, my favorite business in the whole world. I've been going to Kevin's Barbershop for nearly 20 years and I can honestly say he gives the most consistent, stylish haircut I've ever had. All the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and dedicated to give you the best grooming experience you can get.
