Finally, I made it to this spot for happy hour. The menu selection was great and the prices were even better. I liked the vibe and the music playing at a decent level. My server was on point and sweet. I took a peek at the regular menu, and there is no way in the world I'd pay $25 for a burger, or $33 for Mac n cheese, although the regular menu had a vast variety, without being confusing. I will start by saying that we typically eat at raw one to two times per month. We have always been very happy with the food and the service. With that said our last visit here was less than impressive. We had a party of four for a business dinner on a weeknight. In a restaurant that was nearly completely empty because they had recently lost their liquor license, we were seated in a U-shaped booth in the bar, which was very small for our party. It just has not comfortable for a business meeting a table would have been much better! Our food was good as usual, but the service was horrendous! Once our meal was placed on our table, our waiter literally sat down in another booth and had dinner with what I assume was his mother. He never came back to fill up our waters or iced teas our entire meal! After our meal was over and we had waited more than 30 minutes thinking he would eventually get up and bring us a check, We had to go over and awkwardly interrupt his meal to request our bill. Really disappointing to receive such poor service. Embarrassing experience all around with our business associates. read more

Since it was Saturday night, we made reservations ahead of time for our party of 9 and were seated timely after arriving to the restaurant. While I see some other criticisms on here, our experience with the service was top notch, from the hostess to our server and even the sushi chefs behind the counter - everyone was attentive and genuinely warm and friendly. The restaurant is dimly lit with a nice, upscale ambiance to it and a fun vibe. We went NUTS on the Happy Hour menu which seemed very reasonably priced, ordered the Salmon Sashimi, Salmon Nigiri, TUNA SASHIMI (amazing and $6!), Chiang Mai Wings, 2 orders of the Bangkok Lettuce Wraps, Prime Rib Street Tacos, Hamachi Kama, and spicy Edamame...and more off the main menu...everything was delicious, and suffice to say, we had a very happy birthday boy!! =) read more

He asks the sushiya and they say they haven't heard of that roll either but if I tell them what's in it, they will make it I explained it's chef's choice ( I should of left, I know! ) So they bring out this HUGE deep fried roll full of warm dense rice made by someone who clearly has never eaten sushi. I went here 3 times within the span of a week whilst on a trip to Shasta Lake. The decor is really cute and vibey, and we had really great service all 3 times. Something of note is that their nigiri sushi is very generous in size! They have a nice cocktail menu, which is not often the case at a sushi bar so I appreciated that as well. Their signature rolls are very shrimp and shellfish forward (which I'm sure is a huge crown pleaser!) but since I do not do shrimp and shellfish they were able to do a substitution for me on their signature Raw roll, which was super super tasty. This was our third visit here, and we loved it each time. The food is absolutely delicious, and the entire happy hour menu is a hit! The Chang Mai Wings and prime rib tacos are must-haves every time we come. We were immediately seated as soon as we walked in and had water served and our food ordered within five minutes. I love the fast and friendly service, and it's wonderful how the staff efficiently clears empty dishes from the tables, keeping everything clean and clutter-free. AMAZING service and great communication with kitchen + transparency with ingredients. I brought my best friend here to treat her in celebration for getting home from a long hospital stay. She had a lottttt of very special dietary restrictions out of medical necessity (the anti-Candida diet...it's a tough one to follow but necessary for recovery). Our server, Kylee, was beyond incredible. Her level of service was HEROIC. She fielded, without exaggeration, probably 20+ questions relating to how all the food was prepared. Kylee was extraordinarily attentive to all my friend's medical dietary restrictions and she coordinated *extensively* with the kitchen so that my recovering friend would be able to enjoy a very special meal. 1st let me say this... food was excellent BUT..... 1) When my husband arrived, he gave my name for the reservation and the young lady said we had none. We were suppose to sit at the sushi bar. When I arrived, the young lady said my husband didn't want to sit at the bar so she gave him a table. When I sat down, my husband told me they didn't have my reservation so they sat us at a table. I showed him my text reminder that we had a reservation. A few minutes later, I got a call from RAW asking me if I was keeping my reservation. I laughed and told them I was already sitting down but not in the place where we requested because they couldn't find my reservation. 2) Two of our appetizers came out but we had no plates or chopsticks or silverware to eat them. I timed it... about 5 minutes before the waitress brought out plates. Note to owner - have tables with place settings already there. Food gets cold when you have to wait to eat them. 3) food servers were all over the place trying to bring food to the wrong tables. We were asked several times if we had ordered something that we didn't. We also saw our loco roll go to another table but the waitress stopped the guy and pointed him to us. Also, when our first rolls arrived, it was another few minutes before we got our little saucers, soy sauce and chopsticks. 4) the waitress gave the wrong bill to my husband. He didn't notice so thank goodness she caught it and was able to reverse the charges ( we'll have to make sure in a few days that he wasn't charged twice) 5) ambiance - the place is spacious and cool vibe... music was a little too loud which made it difficult for conversation. Parking is scarce and a little sketchy. With all that being said, it's a new place so constructive feedback is being given. Sushi plus bar- Raw is a good new place to check out if you're in the Redding Area. We called in advance to see if they were busy and they said the had enough to seat two people are were expecting to close the sushi bar by 9:30 due to an event at 10. We got there by 8:30 or so seated and drinks, Edamame were out to us in no time. We ordered a spicy edamame but there was no spice just salt and garlic. The pasta was good and definitely would recommend it to anyone. The shrimp was big and had lots of taste. My husband and I ended up sharing it and we still couldn't finish it. We ordered the Cherry Blossom roll and crunch roll- both came very late as our server informed us that the bar gave our order to someone else. It was unfortunate and we kind of just stayed there waiting for our rolls. The crunchy roll was okay and the cherry blossom was very good. They were cleaning all around us to prepare for the 10 pm event. As we paid the bill and got to up to leave we forgot our pasta to go box and it seems they threw it away. I went back less than minutes to get it as it was pretty expensive and tbh we felt a bit rushed to leave that i got my bag but forgot the food and my husband went to the bathroom. I came back to ask for it and they told me it had been thrown away. I think whoever was cleaning should have asked our server if they could hold on it or at least see if we were still in the parking lot. As soon as I realized I left it I came back, I understand that it was left there but yeah it was a bummer for the food to have been thrown away. Food is good! Happy hour is better then most restaurants in our area. The service is getting questionable, it seems like the waiters are overwhelmed and under trained. The sushi bar chiefs are also having problems to keep up. Tonight we waited 45 minutes to get sushi rolls to our table. About half of the tables were empty. So some reason they just couldn't deliver in a timely manner. The bar was even slower, our waiter apologized several times for the delay in getting our drinks.
