I went there on Friday July 12th with my wife (Date night). We got menus and drinks right away. 2 bottles of Stella, pretty easy. My wife wanted sushi so she order a hand roll. I ordered the barbecued chicken noodle stir fry. after a half hour or so the waiter came by to say sorry for the delay. The delay had to do with the noodles ??? Did we want the hand roll since it was ready and waiting in the window already. Okay give us the roll. Another half hour later we got the stir fry. The sauce on the chicken stir fry was beef based. (better than bullion?) nothing better than chicken that tastes like a cow. We might have had a nice conversation while we waited but the place is very noisy. worse than a pizza parlor full of middle schoolers. over 2 hours in this place. The last 45 min or so trying to get the check. The waiter was very good but he was helpless. We went home and made some food. WE should have driven through in N out on the way home. read more

Food is excellent. In the two times I've been there the service is really lacking. Both times they seemed understaffed, and yet I see employees walking around empty handed, not making eye contact and not friendly. We had to flag down people for things we wanted , and maybe saw our waiter four times. No check back on us, had to ask for a napkin. Waited forever for a beer. Food came up at several different times, one sushi roll when we were actually done. Not sure what was going on. So enjoy the food because it is exceptional, but be prepared for lousy service. We have eaten here quite a few times usually have dinner with friends, food has been ok, but this time, we were not impressed, sushi roll, not what they should be, or as good as in the past! It seemed like the roll was put together one bite, not clean cut like a cut roll should be. Got here at 3:00 pm and ordered everything. 2 people in our group got their meals and then it took 40 minutes for 2 more people in the group to get their meal and the fifth person still doesn't have theirs and we've been here for over an hour!? I recently tried Raw for the first time for lunch. There were two of us dining. The ambiance is very nice and inviting, which was a plus. We didn't wait long at all to have a very nice server come and take our drink orders. She was prompt at bringing us our drinks, though we both had to ask for water. She provided us menus and gave us just about the right amount of time to decide. We both ordered one of the lunch specials, which was a Tempura Bento Box. I will add, at that point the restaurant was not very busy. It took a considerable amount of time to receive our food, but neither of us were in a hurry. It looked appealing and well presented. The waitress ushered away quickly, as the restaurant was starting to get busier and it appeared to both of us they could use more help. Our food appeared to have sat a while, as the temperature of the food was tepid, not warm. The Tempura batter was spongy, not crunchy. We weren't offered any choices of sauces for dipping. The only sauce was a very small portion of salty soy sauce. Not appealing. It would have been nice to have choices, not to mention a larger portion of dipping sauce. I would prefer Japanese Gyoza sauce, or sweet and sour, or both. The small green salad was a bit lackluster and the dressing could use improvement. The salad needed to be more authentically Japanese. The food seasoning and overall flavor wasn't bad, not great, but not bad. I'm sure it would have been better crunchy and hot. I love that new restaurants are trying to make "a go" here in Redding, but competition here is stiff to be "good". To give Restaurant Owners some benefit of the doubt, help is hard to get everywhere, especially "good" help. But in order to make it here, Restaurants really need to step up their game! Food was terrible. Waste of money! The lettuce wraps were dry and literally had no flavor. Cold ground chicken with some toppings on a piece of lettuce. No sauce, nothing. Called on a Monday to reserve big party room on that Thursday, we were told we would get a call back, but we didn't. So we called back a few hours later and spoke to manager, went over the details and were told it should not be a problem, but they would call back Thursday (day of party) . They didn't... we all show up- 14+ and they have no reservations for us. Party room closed and dark. We asked for the room but they crammed us all right outside the room. That restaurant is verrryyyy loud, so we could only talk the person on either side of us. When we asked about why we could not have room they said something about needing the chairs for a different restaurant... mind you, we sat in chairs! Long wait time, specialty rolls were average and stir fry looked like a frozen streamed bag meal, water and all. First set of dishes came out about a half hour before the next. Being from SOCAL we've been to many great sushi restaurants! I have to be honest, but it's going to be a long drive for us to come visit our new favorite sushi spot!!! The cuts and freshness were absolutely outstanding! The ambience was also a big plus for us! Nicely decorated and modern! The sashimi was outstanding and the nigiri was to die for. Should you be lucky enough to have Abdu wait on you, your going to have a great night out dinning. He was amazing and super helpful on the entire menu. I ordered a soft shell sandwich. I took two bites and it had an awful sour taste. When the waitress came back I told her. She was a nervous wreck. She said maybe she could get it for cheaper for me. I was with a large group and didn't want to make a scene. I paid $22.00 for something I couldn't eat. I will never go back there and I'll tell everyone about my experience. We sat at the bar and ordered around 7:00 pm last night. Bartender seemed a little frazzled and kind of put out that we ordered food at the bar. The sushi rolls were good but we were disappointed in the Bangkok lettuce wrap, Caesar salad and steamed oysters especially for the price. The lettuce for the Bangkok lettuce wraps were the inner leaves of the core which were to small to spoon the chicken in. The steamed oysters were cold which we expected to be warm. The Caesar salad with salmon was truly disappointing for $25.00. No shedded Parmesan and the salmon was over cooked. Also, most prefer low sodium soy sauce and they were completely out. An hour after leaving the restaurant my husband and I started getting a stomach ache. My stomach ache became very painful and kept me up most of the night. My husband and I both have unsettled stomachs this morning. Not sure I would recommend this restaurant. read more

I'll start with this: the food was excellent and the decor is great. But I was very disappointed in the customer service. We called a few days in advance and made reservations mentioning we were bringing our baby with us. Our 3 month old needed a diaper change and I was bummed to see no changing table in the women's restroom. There was an employee in the restroom at the time and I asked where they would like me to change my baby since there was no changing table. She said if we were in a booth we could just change her right there next to our food. However, we weren't seated in a booth. I asked her if we didn't have a booth where they would like me to change the diaper, she told me she guesses I should go out to our car and change her there.....in 102 degree heat next to their dumpster...our waitress was nice enough but our experience was definitely tainted by the lack of customer care in this event. We weren't the only ones with small children so I was surprised they wouldn't make accommodations for families in their bathrooms. But hey the sushi was good so read more

Heard lots of hype about this new restaurant. Gave it try and was disappointed. Went there specifically for sushi. My spouse has a Gluten allergy not a "lifestyle choice". We asked if they had the gluten free soy sauce and they said no. O.k. not a deal breaker.... next we asked that any of the sushi that is deep fried if they could do raw instead. Example tempura shrimp vs. raw shrimp. The waitress went to ask the Chef if that was possible. Upon her return she informed us that all of their sushi rolls had Gluten in them because of the ingredients they use to make their rice. Has something to do with the vinegar they use. I have never heard of this and every other sushi restaurant in Redding has rice without gluten. We were then told that we should just pick something from the Entrée menu....... Thats not what we came in for so we said thanks but no thanks and left. Its unfortunate they don't have a gluten free option for their sushi other than raw fish. And furthermore I hate to sound like a gluten snob but like I mentioned above this is an allergy with severe consequences when ingested. They have done a great job with the remodeling of the interior, the parking lot is a bit tight, but that is not new. The hostess seemed a bit undertrained but she was pleasant. We had drinks in the bar first and they were delicious! Stacy was our bartender and she was fast, knowledgeable and friendly. It was a Friday night and we did have to wait at the entrance for about 30 min before a place at the bar opened up. Dinner was delicious! Our server was attentive and friendly. Drinks came a bit slower at the table, but I did ask that Stacey make my Lemon Drop reorder. I do not eat sushi or seafood. but my husband and friends do. The non sushi and seafood choices were great! I choose the chicken and pork belly fettuccine, it was so yummy! We had the spicy edamame as an appetizer and they shared the rolls. If I had to fine a negative it would be that they serve food at the actual bar. People tend to camp and it makes it difficult to get a drink while you are waiting for your table.
