Two months after the contractor completed the roof replacement job, the roof began leaking whenever it rains and still is leaking. I contacted Denis Tchernov, the contractor immediately each time so that he could see the leak himself. He investigated the leak a couple of times and said he could not determine where the leak is coming from. There wasn't any pipeline or other source of water in the house because the water had been shut off for months and pipelines removed. I waited patiently for the contractor to fix the problem. ID Constructions also operates as ID Flat Roof (https://idflatroof.com ) never fixed the problem and just stop responding to me. Other roofers were able to point out some issues with the sub-standard installation. So, the contractor got paid in full. I have a warranty from his company that he doesn't honor as promised, he provided no refund or concession, or good faith effort to fix the problem, and I am left with a leaking roof and the need to come up with more money to fix or redo the roof. Be cautious about false warranty, bad workmanship, and unscrupulous businessperson like this.

Where other contractors canceled appointments, arrived late, or were just no-shows - Mikel (out of their Hudson office) arrived on time and did a thorough assessment of the roof including taking drone footage. He sat with me and walked me through the whole process clearly, explaining all my choices in materials and didn't push any product or add-on. I did receive marginally cheaper quotes, but they did not leave me feeling like my home was in good hands in the same way that Mikel did, and I felt the extra money was likely to be worth it. Once I decided to go ahead with them, again, everything was done very professionally. I was kept informed of times and everybody showed up exactly when they said they would. I made a small change to the scope of the work in replacing additional plywood sections of the roof, and these were easily accommodated on short notice. On the day of the work, the crew showed up on time and Jurgan (the site foreman) kept everything moving with minimal disruption to us. I was working from home, and my wife and kids were in and out of the house for school and errands. Despite replacing the entire roof of the main building and two additions over approximately 9 hours, there was minimal disruption to our days. The house was protected during the work, and even with snow still on the ground, their cleanup crew constantly walked the property picking up and disposing of any debris, nails, old material etc. Ultimately the roof was replaced successfully and looks good. Every step of the job was explained to me, every question answered, and every decision explained. The team was professional, punctual and courteous throughout. I scheduled an appointment with their sales representative, Brian Kelly, and set aside time to meet with him at my home. One of the first things he wanted to discuss was replacing my roof, even though I had contacted the company specifically about siding. When I explained that I wanted to focus on the siding project, his demeanor noticeably changed. He became very quiet, and the remainder of the appointment felt uncomfortable. Brian told me I would receive the siding estimate by Friday. Friday came and I received nothing. I followed up by text and received no response. After spending additional time following up with the company, I was finally told they would not be providing an estimate at all because they cannot fit the project into their schedule this year. During that conversation, I was also told that I apparently wanted the siding done "yesterday." I found that comment unnecessarily rude and dismissive. I never asked for the project to be completed immediately. I simply expected the estimate I was told I would receive. I completely understand a contractor being booked for the season. What I don't understand is why the company accepted the appointment, sent a representative to my home, spent time discussing the project, promised an estimate by Friday, and then had me spend the following week trying to obtain it--only to ultimately tell me they had no intention of quoting the project because they couldn't schedule it this year. If the company did not have capacity for additional siding projects this year, that should have been communicated before scheduling the appointment. A simple conversation about availability would have saved everyone's time. Between the uncomfortable sales appointment, the attempt to shift the conversation toward a roof replacement, the lack of follow-through, the unanswered message, the dismissive comment when I followed up, and ultimately refusing to provide the promised estimate, the entire experience was unpleasant and unprofessional.
