Peter Duffy's team took over the work that our previous, nightmare-of-a-contractor had started…read more From the start, Peter and his amazing crew, Oliver and Alan, showed up at our house first thing in the morning, and didn't stop until 5pm or later. They accomplished more in one week than our first crew did in 2 months. Peter was truly invested in the project, and it was clear how much he cares for his clients and his crew. Every step in the process was a collaboration: Peter scheduled appointments between us and the electrician, HVAC crew, and plumbers so we could all walk through the house together and talk through what we wanted and what would work. Peter also made suggestions throughout the process that improved the plan and house in ways that never would have occurred to us. At one point, Peter's crew had the idea to move an original built-in cabinet to another wall in order to open up the dining room to the kitchen, and it changed the entire flow of the house in the best way possible. Visitors always scratch their heads in disbelief when we tell them that the built-in was moved - they insist it looks like it has always lived in that corner of the room! Peter uses the best materials for his builds, and the finishing work is outstanding. Oliver is an incredible carpenter, so our new stairs, kitchen casework, trim around the walls and doors, and tile work in each bathroom is absolutely gorgeous. The existing walls in the house were in bad shape after we removed the wallpaper, so Peter's meticulous painting team patched and repaired all of the walls before painting. The walls are now absolutely smooth and look brand new. The few times there were issues, Peter and his crew addressed them immediately - things were corrected by the following day. Our entire project was massive, and Peter coordinated the work of all of the subcontractors seamlessly so there was never a day that no one showed up to work. Peter's prices throughout the project were also reasonable, especially for the quality of work and materials that they included. Our finished home is more beautiful than we could have ever imagined - we are beyond happy and grateful to Peter and his crew. If you've got a project coming up - no matter how big or small - Let Duffy Do It! Check out the attached social media video we made to showcase Peter's work, along with some other pictures of the finished kitchen, bathroom, and basement.

They did an amazing job, went above and beyond what was asked. His crew was very respectful of our property, always cleaned up every single day, and most importantly was respectful in their communication and interaction with us. We had several horrible experiences with contractors previously, so we were so glad to work with a contractor who was kindhearted, honest, knowledgeable, and good at his work. Two months ago we finally pulled the trigger and added a 1/2 bath to our property. We loved working with Peter so much that we worked with him again! Small compact powder room, but it gets the job done. Overall pleased with outcome of every project. Peter was helpful in the process as he had many suggestions, ideas in bringing things together. Pricing was very reasonable compared to the 2-3 other quotes that's I've received from other contractors. I was proactive on my end on communicating exactly what the needs were for my family. Communicated timeline, expectations, and cost so that there were no surprise for the both of us. My husband and I have worked with many different contractors, and it's really difficult to come by someone who is as helpful and honest as Peter!

He was able to completely transform our previously cold and humid basement into the nicest room in the house. Additionally, he added a full bath, laundry room, upgraded the service panel, installed a French drain, HVAC system and egress window. His guys also build us a wall of cabinets and doors, really maximizing our storage area. A real life saver, you won't be disappointed. Professional, reasonable and knowledgeable I would recommend Aureli Construction for any project.

The great thing about Dan and his team is even after the construction was done he still answered my calls and has come back to do several additional projects years later. Most recently, Dan and his team finished my basement. It has been 8 years since the initial renovation and I am still super happy with the work and quality! What really sets Dan and his team apart is they listens to their clients and hears their request and concerns. We had one minor setback in my project and Dan's commitment to resolution was impressive. In my experience, no project is 100% smooth so knowing that Dan and his team can overcome the snags is HUGE to me! If you're looking for skilled professionals who deliver great results and truly get your vision, I highly recommend Aureli Construction. You won't be disappointed - they exceeded my expectations!

Pat and his team helped us renovate our basement that included a 1/2 bath, wet bar, media room/game room, along with new windows and doors. From the beginning the entire team was fantastic and clear communicators. We always knew where we were in the project, who was scheduled to arrive and if there were any issues, delays, or decisions that needed to be made. Every member of the team, including sub-contractors, were always prompt and very responsive to any questions or concerns we had, no matter how small. They made it a priority to help us feel very involved throughout the whole project by listening to our ideas as the project progressed. In the end, the project was not only completed on budget, but it turned out exactly as we had hoped and envisioned and we would absolutely love to work with Pat and his team again in the future.

Pat, Fred and Dan and the rest of the team are amazing as they really listened to what I wanted and it came out exactly as I had imagined and envisioned. From design to punchlist, everything went as planned with no surprises or disappointments. The project came in on time and on budget. Subcontractors were all great, very professional. The quality of the work is second to none. No shortcuts, quality materials and first rate workmanship. I will share a couple before and after pictures so you can see their magic. I am thrilled and will use nobody else for all my future projects.

After spending a few hours browsing around online, trying to find an honest, experienced contractor…read moreso we could remodel our bathroom, we found HouseCraft. They were local, responsive and very professional and our meeting with the owner, Marco, went really well. The wife and I felt great about it from the get-go. Marco has been in the business for many years and it shows. When meeting with us, he was able to assess the project and take charge of it, making insightful recommendations along the way to help improve what we had in mind and also make it more affordable by making alternate suggestions. He was able to assist with everything from permitting to the demolishing and the building and provided timely updates along the way, with full disclosure. If they ran into a snag, he'd let us know immediately and was able to hold our hand through the process. We cannot recommend him enough and look forward to working with him again in the future on our next home.

Craftsmanship:Marco and his team do phenomenal work and do it right the first time. They always asked for my input when appropriate and needed and they work amazingly fast. Communication:This is a huge one for me as I've hired contractors who are unable to grasp the concept that the client wants their expectation set and met. This is not an issue for Marco -- he just gets it. He is clear in confirming the scope and requirements of the work. He always sets expectation around timing and price that are both fair and accurate. And, in the exceptionally rare case where something will not go as planned (perhaps due weather or other outside factors) he proactively lets me know. Absolutely unparalleled on the communication front. Pricing:You get what you pay for -- he's not cheap but not exorbitant either. Other contractors underbid him. I one--time made a mistake to let price win out of what I knew would be a sure thing. In the end, Marco did the work when the first contractor turned out to be incompetent. I won't make that mistake again. Marco and Housecraft LLC have made me a customer-for-life. Highly recommended!

The quality of the work and attention to detail were outstanding, and incredibly, the entire project was completed about one month ahead of schedule (unheard of in today's home renovation industry- we have friends that started before our project and are still far from completion!). We would highly recommend International Builders and Marcel for any major renovation, addition, or historic home project.

The entire Our House team is amazing, I knew it was going to be a good fit from the initial…read moreconsultation. Steve knows what he knows (and what he doesn't stating he'll get back to you - which he actually does), knows he's got a strong team behind him (he's collected the best of best from years in the business and he'll tell you so - but he's not saying it in a way that comes across rude or a hard sell, he's just stating a fact) and everything supports that! After living in our house for 10 years I knew the kitchen could be better, I just didn't know how. I made it clear to Steve that I would need the options and associated cost laid out so we could make an informed decision, we knew the scope creep possibilities could be endless! Steve assigned us to Amy (the visionary and Alex whisperer) and Alex (the engineer, pro CAD user bringing Amy's visions to life) and from there we were off to the races. We ended up taking down a wall and removing the chimney, which led to moving heating, electrical, and some plumbing to the upper floors; we removed two windows and a set of French doors, replaced by one big window and a single door to the back deck. A BIG project, estimated to take 4-6 months, and they came in right at the 5 month mark! Another key selling point is they are familiar with and took care of the entire permitting process - which for anyone who lives in Somerville knows, is no easy task in our city. It was an explicit criteria I had as we were seeking bids. Reid was our project manager, he was on site almost every day and absolutely amazing in terms of addressing any questions. Pat was our safety officer, but also a PM of sorts - he made sure there was limited dust, and overall everything went smoothly because of his attention to detail. When there was a mishap with the dumpster and our relatively new paved driveway, Pat declared, "No dumpster!", they removed trash manually every evening and fixed the pavers at the end of the project. Kevin is a MASTER carpenter, super kind, smart, and generous with his time. When he asked me how I wanted the crown molding in a weird doorway alcove, I told him I had no idea! He walked me thru the options, was patient with all my questions, and shared his opinion what would look best. It's gorgeous. The best example, is we saved our unique door and window trim to incorporate into the new window & door. No one believes me when I say the new kitchen window trim is actually comprised of 6-8 pieces of trim! It's beautiful and a masterpiece! (Also Kevin and team listen to great music and would be awesome karaoke partners!) Brian (plumber), Wayne (HVAC), Joe (electrician) - also amazing. Answered all of my questions, their teams are very courteous and clean - no one entered the house without introducing themselves. And a shout out to Paige, the designer, who saved us countless hours by narrowing down options! We are in love with our countertops. But the biggest compliment comes from friends and family when they see the outcome - they all day the same thing (aside from its amazingly beautiful) it looks like it was meant to be! Thanks to Paige we were able to update & make our kitchen more function, without losing the period feel of the house which is now more open concept. Communication is key, and aside from the workmanship and skill of Steve and the entire Our House team, the fact that they listen and work WITH you is what makes them stand out. As other reviewers have stated, you get what you pay for. This was not the lowest bid, but what we got in terms of process management and importantly the END RESULT was well worth it. We are saving up for our next Our House project!!

We absolutely love working with Our House! If you like contractors that communicate well -- and…read morelisten well! -- you'll love them too. We've now hired them for several projects around our house: a bathroom renovation, a new retaining wall, a new basement foundation, a new set of stairs, and a huge attic renovation project including two giant new dormers installed. We've hired other contractors before for other projects in our fixer-upper, but once we found Our House, we've only worked with them since. OH is really good about doing what they say they'll do when they say they'll do it (while notifying you of any changes), and they're super responsive via email. It's clear that they take pride in the quality of their work, too. When we had an issue with water in the basement almost a full year after the foundation was poured, we emailed them about it and they were out the next day to see what they could do to fix it. Through all the work they've done for us, our project manager and architect were amazing about checking in with us every step of the way to make sure everything was exactly the way we wanted it. Furthermore, when you have lots of construction projects going on in the house you're living in, you don't realize up front just how dusty everything is going to be. It's impossible to contain ALL the dust, but man, do they do a really good job of trying to keep your living space clean. They contain the area they're working on behind a plastic zip wall, and more days than not, they vacuum/sweep the areas they had to track through your house so that they're keeping the mess behind the curtain. We also have two cats that we weren't willing to rehome while construction was going on, and OH put up extra zip walls to help us confine them to the first floor while they worked on the attic so the cats wouldn't get out or get in the way! OH may not be the lowest bidder for your project, but you definitely get what you pay for. They're honest, timely, and professional, and each and every time they've completed a project for us, the result is beautiful. I can't recommend them highly enough!
