We hired Boston Best Construction (BBC) to complete a kitchen island and small remodel project in…read moreour Boston condo. We consulted with several contractors and ultimately settled on BBC due to the competitive price, references, and availability. We worked with Eduardo and his team throughout the duration of the project. We are very happy with the outcome. The Quote & Final Price. Of those we contacted, BBC took the least amount of time to get us a quote. The quote was also the most detailed of the ones we received. Eduardo included renderings of the island remodel and surrounding space as well as a detailed breakdown of materials and labor. The quoted price was very competitive -- it was among the lowest. BBC completed the project for the quoted price in spite of a few unexpected complications we encountered along the way. Quality of work. We are extremely happy with the quality of the work performed. We were very up front about certain key requirements going into the project and Eduardo did a very good job making sure to adhere to them. For example, we wanted to make sure the island cabinetry matched our older, discontinued, cabinetry. Eduardo was able to match our own cabinets very closely without impacting the price. We also had a number of other very specific requirements regarding cabinetry arrangement and Eduardo stuck to it perfectly. We got what we asked for. Communication and experience. Eduardo and his crew kept the dialogue going throughout the project. We spoke regularly via telephone, email, and text message. They listened to our questions and concerns along the way and made adjustments based on our input. They were very good at explaining when certain things made sense and when they didn't. Eduardo and his team were not afraid to speak up when they thought their input would lead to a better result. For example, Eduardo and one of his team members (Daniel) had some suggestions about how to cut the granite to wrap around some steam pipes adjacent to the island. This resulted in a much better finished appearance and the additional cost was negligible. We are glad we listened to their suggestions as the final result is better than we had expected. We had a great experience with BBC and would use them again. We recommend them for anyone considering any type of project for their home.

The construction cost was reasonable, and included all necessary subcontractor work and supplies. Moreover, we had no cost surprises and even some last minute changes were accommodated without any additional cost. The owner, Fiacra Fahy, was very accessible, did great work, and worked very hard with product vendors (such as the cabinet and countertop company) to keep the project on schedule. In addition, we had minimal disruption to the rest of our use of our home, as his workers put up dust shields around the kitchen and carefully cleaned up after every work day. A really nice aspect of Fahy Construction, is that Fiacra works with you at every step, suggesting possible improvements to your plan (we took his advice on multiple matters and he was right every time), and working hard to give you a perfect product in the end. They were local, responsive and very professional and our meeting with the owner, Marco, went really well. The wife and I felt great about it from the get-go. Marco has been in the business for many years and it shows. When meeting with us, he was able to assess the project and take charge of it, making insightful recommendations along the way to help improve what we had in mind and also make it more affordable by making alternate suggestions. He was able to assist with everything from permitting to the demolishing and the building and provided timely updates along the way, with full disclosure. If they ran into a snag, he'd let us know immediately and was able to hold our hand through the process. Craftsmanship:Marco and his team do phenomenal work and do it right the first time. They always asked for my input when appropriate and needed and they work amazingly fast. Communication:This is a huge one for me as I've hired contractors who are unable to grasp the concept that the client wants their expectation set and met. This is not an issue for Marco -- he just gets it. He is clear in confirming the scope and requirements of the work. He always sets expectation around timing and price that are both fair and accurate. And, in the exceptionally rare case where something will not go as planned (perhaps due weather or other outside factors) he proactively lets me know. Absolutely unparalleled on the communication front. Pricing:You get what you pay for -- he's not cheap but not exorbitant either. Other contractors underbid him. I one--time made a mistake to let price win out of what I knew would be a sure thing. In the end, Marco did the work when the first contractor turned out to be incompetent. I won't make that mistake again. Marco and Housecraft LLC have made me a customer-for-life. Highly recommended!

When I decided it was time to replace my 40+ year-old roof after consulting with Steve, he told me truthfully that he would do everything he can as a local owner and a friendly neighbor (literally one street over) to help me in any way he could to take care of my need for a new roof under my financial limits. He made sure to address any potential issues, he assessed the inside attic space and made sure he didn't see any serious concerns before making any knee jerk assumptions like some do from a visual standpoint.
